His comment is a distraction. He wants to focus us on thinking that game will be about Shepard and his crew. NOPE. Like I said earlier and they stated it MANY times during interviews. Shepard's story is the story we create by making choices in-game. Mass Effect universe is huge. There is a lot of potential.
And the press release stating that it will be a live-action adaption of the original Mass Effect game is a blatent lie too, and the rights were sold based on the game alone and not to the ME universe as a whole.

Jackman would be 44 by the time they start filming.... No
so... dont matter the age as long as you look the age of the character.

Shepard looks 44???
Seriously though, they need new talent for the role of Shepard. Enough of these over-used action star suggestions

Also, for each one of us who play the game, Shep could be Male or Female, Blonde or Brunnette, Round face or square face. Even Old or Young. How is it possible to represent that on a movie?
Why should it matter? I play four seperate Shepards. None of them look alike. I guess whatever my last one was voided the other three.
Just few it as one of many possible playthroughs...

You know what you are right, we are talking like if our opinions are going to affect the fhinished product. We all know, It will be like the one who puts all the money wants it to be...
And my Shepard won't die because of that...

Its the fact that it'll condense the 20+hour cinematic plot of ME1 into a shitty 2 hour film, its the fact that despite never mentioning Shepard in any of the other ME media (books, comics etc) it'd make a canonized universe, its the fact that theres loads of potential in the ME universe to explore but instead they'd rather rescript and shorten the already existing plot, throw in some shitty acting then add some explosions.Eddo36 wrote...

You act like you know for a fact that the movie plot will suddenly start to affect the rest of all future Mass Effect related material. Maybe the movie would function along the lines of what Marvel Comics did with the Ultimate Universe line and its regular line. Hmm?? Making a movie in no way makes anything "canon" unless you know for a fact that it will affect all further Mass Effect products. Which at this point in time we have no reason to believe. Mass Effect 3 will be out long before the movie and will not affect Shepard's story. At most it would make a canon for all further products. AGAIN there is no reason to suspect that to happen.
X-Men, Spiderman, Iron Man, The Dark Knight, etc. all exist in their own movie universe and dont suddenly change the *canon* of the comic worlds. The new Star Trek didnt change the OLD series, it rebooted a seperate timeline universe. Why should Mass Effect by any diffent on the big screen.
So calm the FRILL down. Jeeze.

the movie should follow the books, mass effect: ascension follows the events that happen prior to ME1 and manages to tie into the game no matter what choices shepard makes. ts the prefect solution and would make an awsome movie
I have to say that's the idea, but why worry... i repeat, no matter what we say it will be as they want it to be...
Our best hope is Casey Hudson
