Ugh, oh no! Please don't touch DA if you're sniffing around bioware, movie producers. I don't play Mass Effect, haven't gotten around to it, but still I have to say: I still hate video game movies. And if they must, a non-linear game should just not be touched.

But if the main plot of it isn't touched, then by all means, go for it.

So you want me to go back and discuss you calling something ****ty before its even been drafted into a screenplay?   The Thorian arc can be totally tossed. Putting the cipher with Liara at the dig site. Most the Noveria filler to get the garage pass is easily junked as is the Rachni involvment. Its fairly easy to get Garrus, Tali and Wrex involved without Fist or the Shadow Broker.   Theres 10 some hours cut right there.  Your opinion of ****ty judgement on a product that doesnt even exist yet is just as sad as what you call my blind optimism.

Omg this is not the game that's supposed to have a movie Jesus Christ. It's a god damn RPG.

I recently saw Prince of Persia movie, it was good IMO regardless if something was changed in the movie than how it was in the game, however Prince of Persia wasn't an RPG where you would have A ****load of choices.

The fans won't like it at all, everyone will complain how their choices were not there.

Anyways if It's a movie about something like the first contact war then it's completely ok, but if it's something about the games we already played then screw it

It's always a bad idea to make a movie revolving directly around the plot of the game. Regardless, I think most of us expect the protagonist to be a male paragon.

Video game movie... the past shown us how bad can it be. The silver screen and the gaming platforms have never been a good pair when speaking of moving something from movie to a game or otherwise. But hopefully, this project won't be a quick made, low budget production.

I also suppose, that many of you people who spoken before me are right - the movie should not have much connection to the game. Maybe not so hardcore to delete Shepard from the very story, but not showing the period, that we spent as Shepard in the games. The Mass Effect 1 and 2 story is shown in the game so good, so it would just kill the player's point of view at the game. Instead, there is nothing standing in the way of making a movie from the Mass Effect books, like "Mass Effect Revelation" or "Ascention". These have a strict story, not influenced by a player's choices in the game.

Players hope for something big BioWare. Don't make us dissappointed. :]

What about a movie about the backstory of Shepard before he/she became a commander? I know you can pick his/her background but I don't forsee it having TOO much of an effect on any future installments of the ME universe.

I reserve judgement to like it or not once it comes out, unlike most people here.   I am not complaining that *my* choices arent there, as I can seperate the movie from the game line.  The First Contact War would be a boring storyline for a movie as epic as what Mass Effect should be.

You guys (bioware) seem to be making a lot of ground recently! First Dragon Age turning into a PnP and now a Mass Effect movie. From Indie to Mainstream eh?

I hope that Legendary Pictures make an original story set in the Mass Effect universe, using new characters. Just seems a waste to make one based on the game since that story has already been told. Plus no matter what they do people are going to gripe that it's not "their" Shepard. Yes, I said it: I would rather Shepard not have any role in this movie asides from being mentioned in a briefing/newscast.

Me, because EVERY SINGLE GAME TO MOVIE TRANSITION HAS SUCKED BALLS lol.  I actually *facepalmed* when they announced this.  Hell, even PoP was only "decent" and that's if you're in a good mood when you watch it lol....So yea, needless to say, I have NOT anticipated this announcement and was hoping against all hope that BioWare would just leave this where it needed to be, in the video game universe

The Clue movie sucked in the 80s because in my game I discovered it was Mrs. peacock killed him with the candlestick in the kitchen. Funny thing is I played it again and this time it was Col Mustard with the revolver in the billard room. Another time it was Miss Scarlett with the rope in the library. The movie was crappy though because it wasnt *my* character solving the crime.
