Do not feed these people's suggestions.   If people cant explain why. Most of them boil down to  "I like Show A and I like Mass Effect therefore I want people that I like from Show A involved with the Mass Effect movie."

I'm not feeding suggestions - I'm showing them. They can talk about who should be who without the list. I'm showing the list so that everyone can see the choices made in the past. People get tangled around with an actor being this specific character so much that some lose that interest in that actor and they move on to choose somebody else. And if those in this website want to joke about actors such as Zachary Levi or Joshua Gomez being Shepard, that's fine. They jokingly speculate or truthfully believe - and that's fine. We do not know right now who will be who in this movie. The list is to keep everyone updated about the actors and actresses that have been said on this website. Whether he or she can play the role, that's for those to think about, including myself. It's up to them for what they want to say. The list also makes it easier for those who don't want to keep searching for the right actor on multiple websites and videos, since I'm willing to do this, as well as giving multiple options. And for everyone, that is attraction. 

I guess I'm just tired of seeing all these suggestions that are down right pathetic or ridiculous.  Its not matter of liking someone because they play a character in something else they like.  Its a matter of finding an actor that fits the role and can do it justice.  I'd rather just ignore people that toss out random suggestions that make no sense.  Even responding to them to come back with some other random statement thats going to make me pound my head on the desk to me is feeding it.  Sorry  my nerves are raw on this movie stuff. I guess I'd like an intelligent conversation on the possibilities compared to all the jadded elitists and knuckleheads that chime in.  Then again its the forums here.  I should know better.

You know that, many pages ago, I seriously suggested Mark Meer as the only possible John Shepard, right? The guy is an actor, a good one from what I've seen around the net and he knows the role better than anyone. No one will even come close to Shep as this guy can.

If he was willing to dedicate the time and effort to bulk up for the role and is still within the age range for Shepard by the time they start filming I'd be willing to let him take a shot at it.   His IMBD doesnt list his DOB but his resume lists him in the 25-35 age range currently.  Anyone know Mark's real birthdate?

i think the guy that they modeled shepard from would be a good choice because he is a real guy you know. also, i hope they don't choose one of those fancy well known actors to play sheppard, because then the whole story would be centered on them. i just don't want to see again the way hollywood butchers movies made after video games, like the movie DOOM which was terrible to put it nicely.

Yes because a 42 year old(44+ by the time of filming) Dutch model with no acting experience would be a good choice because we want to cast the movie on visual image alone.

There's not really any competition. Chris Evans IS Commander Shepard. Just look at him and see if there really is someone else that could play shepard.

I think we actually talked about Chris in this thread 10 or so pages back.   Chris could probably pull it off  however he's going to be to busy trying to pull off Captain America for the next several years.  He's highly unlikely to have the time to be Shepard as well.

Um in regards to choices for actors and directors, I HIGHLY doubt anyone of us, will influence these decisions. It will all be done behind closed doors and announced when they are ready to announce it...as per usual.



But its nice that people have wishful thinking...keeps the interest in this project going.

Obviously if they announced a movie then they already know about how they will proceed. I think it should be a trilogy based of of each segment of the games. The story choices for Shepard will be made by the three executive producers from BioWare. They created the games then they should be the ones to tell the story from their point of view with a little of our input. The main thing is who plays the characters, and who will do the geth creations. I think the original voice actors/actresses should do the parts, their the only ones who know the game well enough other than BioWare

Chris Evans = Born in '81  (31 if filming stared in 2012) 

Matthew Fox = Born in '66  (46 if filming started in 2012) 

Please explain to me how you can honestly say both of these people can play the same character that should be 29 years old.

All the characters of the game if you don't change their appearances are based off the voice actors in some cases obviously.

I dont know how you play to refine it. Personally for me any actor over the age of 40 should be removed as a possibility right off the bat. Whoever plays Shepard should not be over the age of 50 by the release of the third movie, in the event of a trilogy of movies.

The sad thing is the movie actually wasnt that bad. Was it a true video game adaption? No. Is it going to win awards or anything? No.   But it wasnt awful or so bad I would have walked out of the cinema.

I hope this film serves as a prequel to the games. It is unfathomable to make a linear form plot based of a game that emphasizes choices and a branching story. A Shepard Origin story following the Skillion Blitz or something about the first contact wars would be cool. Get the guy who did the Shepard voice acting to play Shepard. Anyone else would be wierd.

Why do you peopel think it has to bee some one that looks like default shepard, it can be some one like daniel craig, if you want a good actor that can be made to look like default shepard use christain bale, better than all the other actors that look like sheparloo
