So, now that the Shadow Broker DLC has been announced (http://masseffect.bioware.com/) and it seems unlikely that Ash/Kaidan will make an appearance - I think it would've been mentioned in the blurb if it were going to happen - do you guys think we'll see some separate Ash/Kaidan DLC or expansion in the future? Or, do you think we'll have to wait until ME3 for the next installment of their stories?
Personally, I'm not too optimistic about seeing Ash or Kaidan again until ME3 - as much as I'd love to.
I like to think that the reason they are doing the Liara DLC is so that the whole business with the Shadow Broker is resolved one way or another before Mass Effect 3 starts. That way all the espionage and shady business deals that were in the second can be completely out of the way in the third and we can just focus on the epic conclusion to the battle with the Reapers.
Hopefully, this means that with Liara's plot 'resolved' they can focus much more on Ashley/Kaidan as now they won't have to balance both romance resolutions (both as in Liara or Virmire survivor) so this naturally means that quite possibly Ashley will get the huge role she so greatly deserves and that she and Shepard can rebuild their relationship in a proper fleshed out way that will intergrate perfectly with the plot.
For this reason I actually kind of hope that there isn't any DLC for Ashley, she should just get the whole deal in Mass Effect 3. Plus I don't have Xbox Live so I can't download DLC anyway so I'd prefer if their plot gets resolved fully in Mass Effect 3 rather than have me stuck with impossible to obtain DLC.
So yeah that's my optimistic take on all this, Ashley won't be given DLC because now that Liara's Shadow Broker plot is out of the way they can focus entirely on her (provided that there's no love triangle issue) and finally give us the huge emotional role that we've all been hoping she can have.
