:wub::wub::wub::wub:

Damn this is good. Honestly I think I'm in love.

Come Mass Effect 3, that's something I'd like to find waiting for Shepard in his quarters.

Well I think sometime after he and Ash slept together that rule kind of fell out the window.

But they weren't part of the Alliance, from the Citadel to Ilos you were pretty much a fugitive.

Yeah I suppose that's true.

I don't know to be honest. Possibly it's just an inconsistancy but maybe there's a reason behind it, but I never gave it all that much thought.

Still the realisation that Shepard's not Alliance anymore and therefore not bound by any regulations about fraternization anymore does sound like a good deal at least as far as rekindling the old flame with Ashley goes.

Personally, I think that Shepard's N7 training is indicative of a skillset and not an inclusion in any one group (i.e. we see people with an N7 designation spread throughout the Alliance - not a herd of N7s doing special ops missions together).  I guess I kind of think of it as like someone having a black belt.  While it is an Alliance military designation and their training, it's probably used because a) it might indicate the difficulty of the assignments (these aren't Cerberus tasks - they're N7 missions!), B) from an outer perspective, the N7 is used heavily in the franchise's merchandise and marketing, and c) it just sounds cool.  I think it's also a way to distance the player from the Cerberus relationship - it's not Cerberus that gave Shepard the N7 designation, it was the Alliance.

And, to bring it back to Ash, .... B4 missions just don't sound as cool.  Image IPB

I started writing an Ash fanfiction story today, based on things between the end of Normandy 1 and my imagined view of Shep's funeral. I just started writing and writing (I had to kill a few hours at work due to transport issues) and it was interesting trying to get into Ash's head. Everyone views her differently, but we all agree on the common things we love about her. I wrote about 10 and a half pages, and I hope to get further tonight. After some editing and spell checking, I'll upload it to my ff.net account.

Anyway, I was also wondering, is Ashley's parents names ever revealed anywhere? I've done research but maybe I'm blind and missing something obvious.

Lastly, who do you think Ash could be good friends with in your squad from ME1 and 2? I say Garrus, Wrex, Miranda for starters.

Garrus for sure. If I can get both Ash and Garrus back in ME3, I will be one happy person. But alas, I'll probably get neither.

it's the way things go...what i am afraid is that we will get...again..new squadmates...i think Miranda and whoever is now on Normandy are almost sure to be in ME3 beginning..Ashley is somwhere far away...i only see her somwhere towards the midlle-end story....

I love Ashley with her hair down. She looks really beautiful, and it's unmistakeably Ashley, with her face perfectly captured and her body just like I'd imagine it. The "unsafe" version gets my vote for "sexist Mass Effect fan art of all".

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of as well. A bunch of new squadmates while sidelining my favorites from ME1 and ME2 would go a long way to ruin ME3 for me. It doesn't really matter if the old ones are present in the beginning or come to you later, as long as you get them at all for most of the game.

Given that character continuity remains persistently one of the highest items on any ME3 wishlist, I wonder if they'd really dare fob us off with a complete new set again. That would make for a very displeased fanbase. And if they'll give us only Tali and Garrus and no one else, I'll add my rants to any pertinent thread.

You might be right Epoch. You might be wrong. Unfortunately we still have a bit of a wait to find out.

Bioware did say they were saving Ash and the others cause they have big roles in ME3. I kinda get the feeling that biowares idea of a big role for Ash is very different from what I think a big role for her is. So at this point it is all speculation, till we hear something official.

So we will have to wait, But Ash is worth it.

The camps of what will happen in 3 charachter wise go like this:

Pessimist Camp

Since charachter A can die in 1: Wrex or Ash/Kaidan that explains why they are not heavily featured in two.

So any charachter that survived 2 will get either a small cameo, or an email to best cover the bases.

This means that they feel that all new companions will be brought in meaning new LI! (do not want)

Sequel camp:

Since part two is the middle they could not resolve all the stories, since three would have been lacking. This explains why Ash/Kai or Wrex had small parts.

This camp believes that mainly the survivors will be featured, and some newer people to fill the rosters.

While there are more views these are the main two.

I am more in line with the second, I kept these bozos alive for threee games I dont want new and shiny! Give me back: Legion, Grunt, Ash, Garrus, Tali,Samara, and Mordin and I am good.

Hi there everybody,
time for me to come in again with the Ashley lovers and say hello *wave*

I want to jump on the topic, whether Ash will make a prominent appearance in ME3 or not, and alas I'm clearly in the pessimist camp.
I've been turning this topic in my head since I first finished ME2 and tried to figure out how BW will connect ME3 to the two predeccesors. As far as my own conclusions go, not any of the love-sick fan's of ME will be very pleased with the beginning of ME3. In my POV it just does not make any sense to have Shepard pursuing a romace from the start of the ME3 story, it doesn't fit to the story arc.
I do think, Shep will get seperated from his crew somehow to enable the story to progress in a different way than it did in ME2. There may be missions towards the middle of the game to rescue some of your crew, from which point any romance can continue/start off. This would be the earliest point in the game, when Ash could make a re-appearance.
The whole plot will need a time to pick you up from the end of ME2 towards the final confrontation with the Reapers, I doubt BW writers will give a lot of room for the romances.
Once the stage is set for the final confrontation I can see a romance scene where the LI asks Shepard what his plans are if they survive and you can choose between 2 or 3 endings with your LI.
I really lost some faith by thinking it over, that Ash will have a role as a squadmate, and that we will get the opportunity to delve deeper into her personality and our relationsship. ME1 set the story up, ME2 introduced the squad and ME3 will feature the final story climax.
And, as sad as it is ... as long as they show Tali's face to the talimancer crowd the outrage in the forums will be bearable for BW, whatever they choose to do with the other LI's

E:
Just to make it clear: I still believe there is a chance Ash will be featured in ME3, but I can only see her returning towards the last third of the game, after Shepard managed to rebuildd his ties with the Alliance. If this happens the Virmire survivor will return to the Normandy, maybe as squadmate or maybe even just as a kind of communications officer. I doubt there will be a lot of conversation available. Shepard will get the chance to re-kindle the relation, though and when it's time for the love scene we will get it ... but I doubt there will be a lot of indepth conversation, seing Ash's sisters and whatnot invloved ... sad but true

I actually am pretty positive that the virmire survivor will get a big role in me3. Bioware said themselves the reason they don't come with you in me2 is so they don't die on the suicide mission. It wouldn't make any sense if they protected ash/kaiden unless they had some plan for her/him.

I still hold onto the faint hope that whatever Bioware meant by that will make me happy. At this point I don't expect it necessarily will, but I still hope.

could it happen that the virmire survivor could be the one to rescue shepard? I for one would love to see Shepard display some weakness like in ME1.... and it falls on Ash/Kai to save their commander

I'm with you LZ.  I have a faint glimmering hope that BioWare will do what's right by Ash.... but the realistic side of me thinks that won't happen, and chides the hopeful side for being so gullible.

That would be cool, especially if it were a male Shepard and Ashley was the Love interest. I think it could work and it would fit well for plot and it would remind people that Ashley is a strong willful woman and that Shepard can be fallible at points.

I would love to see Ashley rescue Shepard or to speak out in his/her defence or any number of good scenarios like that, it would be nice at least to finally give some credit where it's due.
