I'm still trying to picture how Ash will make her entrance in ME3, I'm really hoping it's going to be something special. I would really like her to be saving Shep, busting him out of a prison or something unique. No one knows what the BioWare chefs are cooking up, but I do hope that the same writer from ME1 is writing Ash again. (offers up burnt offerings)

It's amazing how quick the last 6 moths have gone since ME2 came out, but how long it will be until ME3 comes out. I think I'm going to need to do ME1 and 2 again to get my Ash fix. She is worth the grind.

I agree, I think it would be great to see Ash do something brave and undeniably loyal to Shepard to save his life and demonstrate her feelings for him, hopefully this could be done in a way that would still help make her come across as strong and independant.

We all here miss Ashley. I can't even play ME2 anymore because of how little Ashley it has. I will just continue to play ME1 so I can have my Ashley. Ash is worth it.Yana Montana wrote...

@ Quaay I agree if they are coming back I don't want to wait till half way through the game to get Ash back. Not enough time with them. I want them back right away. I want a whole game. But I worry about a few things. If we get them back right away, they shouldn't run into each others arms at first sight. Would be a bit weird. I don't want bioware waiting till the middle of the game to get them together either. Not enough time then. I think my main fear for Ash / Kaidan assuming we get them back at all is, that they will be treated to the same cookie cutter LI relationship formula as everyone else. This would be wrong. LI from the first game should not be treated the same as a new one in ME3 or a returning one from ME2. All the story arcs are different, I think applying the same cookie cutter formula across all LI would ruin them. So I worry that bioware will do it anyhow either to make it easy for themselves or to make things seem fair between all LIs. Bioware you can be fair and different.
Liam - I think you really hit the proverbial nail on the head for me with this. I don't mind there being a sense of formula, but I think that the "we talk, we get closer, we have a little nookie before the Big Final Mission" formula would just be clumsy to apply to the relationship with the ME1 LI - be they Ash, Liara, or Kaidan. All three have already had that progression with Shepard, all three have been hurt by ME2, and all three need some sort of resolution in ME3.
That said, I really hope that in ME3 we'll see some differentation in roles between Ash and Kaidan. They're very different people and react to things differently.... I hope BioWare branches out with them some and gives the romance path differences instead of making them foils again.

I'm terribly afraid that Ash and Kaiden will be almost carbon copies of each other in Mass Effect 3, for the simple fact I was reminded of last night: either can die.
I absolutely hate that our only human companions from ME1 are going to always be held down by that intractable fact that neither can really go far from the other because they have to be interchangeable. Interchangeable.
I'd best not say any more on the subject.

I agree with you, to some extent. I actually think that the odds are decent for Ash/Kaidan having separate romance content. After all, each of the LIs in ME2 can possibly die - and there's no way the writers can do one arc to cover Thane, Garrus, Tali, Miranda, Jack, or Jacob ... they're all just too different with way too different complications and backstories. If they're going to do separate content for the 6 LI options from ME2, at the very least they can provide some unique stuff to Ash vs. Kaidan, imo.

Quick question: Sometime in the near future I want to do a maleshep runthrough on ME1 and I want to romance Ashley, but I also want to be a jerk to her after Eden Prime just to see what happens. Will blaming the failure of Eden Prime on her completely destroy Shepard's chances with her, or can it be salvaged throughout the game?
You have to take the Paragon/Neutral options as you wake up from Medbay, Same goes for the talk in the Mess Hall.
I think you could choose the Renegade/****** options from Medbay and make up in the Mess Hall speech. I think I did this once and I still romanced Ashley, but that was many years ago and I do not fully remember.

Well it wasn't like that. I reformatted my pc, and I forgot to back up all my Bioware save files. And the avatar is a pic of Matt Horner.

I think I saw something about that, about it not even gonna be talked about cause they didn't want to spoil it. I wouldn't get your hopes up. I actually would be mad at bioware if it was Ash or Kaidan at this point.

Have Shepard go up to the council in three. And meet Ash/Kaidan outside before/after the meeting.
