Raanz, that is fabulous work! I really love it, and it looks totally final to me - not rough at all.

Here's to having Ash fight side-by-side again in ME3 (hopefully). :)

Hi there,

just thought I have to pop in here for a moment again :)

Actually I'm at quite bad mood regarding further Bioware installments and I'm loosing more and more faith in my hopes to see a nice reunion with Ashley in ME3.

I was lurking the DA2 forum and just to see how they seem to cut all strings between the cast of DA1 and DA2, let all my hopes sink to the ground for ME3 as well.

Ah well, maybe I should go to Kelly and tell her "I could need a hug, too" (Heck, I should make a save before this, just to be able to get a hug whenever I'm in need of one).

I don't know ... all logical thinking I try, points out that Ash will only get a cameo in ME3 - she may well play a role in the story, but alas not as we all would wish to see.

To make this post a little more than a sad rant, I would like to hear your opinion, why Ash _will_ be a squadmember in ME3 and how Bioware could make it happen.

My pessimist says Bioware will not care to make anyone besides Liara return as a full-fledged squadmate because she's the one they pegged to do great things and such, and since Ashley and Kaidan are interchangeable (this rankles me the most) it would really be too impractical to try to fit either of them in as squadmates.

However, Mass Effect is not Dragon Age. For starters, the games are developed by different teams. Also, Dragon Age wasn't (to the best of my knowledge) planned from the get-go to be this ground-breaking epic RPG trilogy (it's hardly ground-breaking, and even though it'll probably end up being a trilogy, I doubt that was the stated plan from Day One). Mass Effect was designed as a trilogy from the very beginning, and one of its main marketing buzz words is how choices from the previous games affect the next game (without drawing into company hate here for a second). Dragon Age was never presented that way, and I don't expect it to ever be that way.

To bring the subject back to Ashley and her possible involvement as a squadmate, I still think it could happen. I think it's wrong to read omens for Mass Effect from Dragon Age 2. Besides, we've ruled out being surprised, and I think that's not a good thing. As unlikely as it may seem, we could still be surprised.

The fact that Ash/Kaidan are interchangeable is the very reason why I think they WILL be a squadmate in ME3. Liara is obviously a big part of their plan for the story as she is the only one that has been protected, but so has the Ash/Kaidan combo.

This is realy good! I would like to have seen it in colour, but it's still a very nice piece of work you have done here, Raanz. Posted Image

Now onto a topic:

Ash having her pheonix armor in ME3 is inevitable, I mean, she is the only caracter that actually looks good in it. What do you guys think Ashleys alternative armor in ME3 will be?

I believe Ash will have a black armor, like the N7 armor she is wearing in the Mass effect art book, just without the N7 logo. Maybe she will have the Collossus armor even.

The fact that Ash/Kaidan is Shepards only real ties with the Alliance gives me hope she/he will be in ower squad, and hopefully play a big part in ME3.

Using the topic title in big bold letters? Why I do believe that is my thing!

Ah whatever, it's nice to see I've set a trend.

Okay to answer the question:

I would love to see her in black armor not unlike the armor on the front of the page of the thread, perhaps with a bright neon color as the secondary like green or red or blue or yellow.

It would look good if it could balance complimenting her figure while also looking detailed and badass as one of my favourite things about Ash is how she wears actual military combat gear and I reckon more detailed, awesome looking armor would better compliment her character than say, space spandex.

So yeah I would imagine dark armor that is either very heavily built or very light. It all depends on what kind of situations she would find herself in.

So yeah I would agree, Colossus armor that is either heavily built upon or lightly built upon. Either way is good and it seems the most likely, she would follow the Miranda Lawson school and do a complete color scheme swap when she alternates.

That said, on reflection it would be kind of cool to see some Grey armor or even that weird greenish, brownish army camouflage gear I've seen her wear in screenshots. It doesn't have to be white then black, it can go from plain color to vibrant colors.

Colossus armor makes her butt look awesome, and hot pink Colossus would make her look even awesomer, which is hard to do. I'm honestly not a huge fan of Phoenix - a little too Pink Power Rangery for my taste - so I'd like an alternate that makes her look fabulous and has great stats, which Colossus definitely fits, imo.

Hitman armor, definitely. Gimme Ash in black and hot pink and I'm a happy camper! :D

@Brij - Romance novels would almost *have* to be her secret vice. But I think she'd read them with a pen in hand to write her own witty commentaries in the margins.

Epoch, you are a bad man. :D

Also, I forgot the hot pink Colossus was on the OP. Razer did such a great job recoloring this...

See, she's still feminine but tough, and the color combo just works so well in accenting her, uhh, features. Ashley needs hot pink Colossus in ME3. Most def.

Agreed, I hope to see this in ME3, hopefully Bioware are listening *hints at devs who may actually be reading this to take note* Posted Image

But it has to be medium Phoenix armor. Not even Ash looks good in light Phoenix armor, although she does look less bad in it than, say, Liara, or Shepard.

I don't mind heavy either. But yes, medium is better than light.

So, I've recently become a bit more "into" the strategy aspects of the game from a tactical standpoint, and I'm probably going to replay ME1 on Insanity soon ... and I'm definitely going to be taking advantage of my favorite lady marine tank.

Any opinions on what the best build for Ash is? I know it doesn't matter as much as it does in ME2, but I was just wondering if anyone had definite thoughts. I usually maxed out her armor and assault training, put her with the sniper rifle and assault rifle, and watched things die.

Haha! That would be just like her, wouldn't it?

BTW, guys, I'm ashamed to admit that I don't have much in the way of Ashley fics or art. Anyone want to contribute something? Ashley needs some better representation on the writer's block. Seriously.

Anybody have a pic of that funny over the top grin Ashley does when you choose the "To see space" dialogue option?
