@Brij - Romance novels would almost *have* to be her secret vice. But I think she'd read them with a pen in hand to write her own witty commentaries in the margins.

Haha! That would be just like her, wouldn't it?

BTW, guys, I'm ashamed to admit that I don't have much in the way of Ashley fics or art. Anyone want to contribute something? Ashley needs some better representation on the writer's block. Seriously.

I may have something new for you soon. There's also Wake if you haven't seen it yet.

So, I've recently become a bit more "into" the strategy aspects of the game from a tactical standpoint, and I'm probably going to replay ME1 on Insanity soon ... and I'm definitely going to be taking advantage of my favorite lady marine tank.
Any opinions on what the best build for Ash is? I know it doesn't matter as much as it does in ME2, but I was just wondering if anyone had definite thoughts. I usually maxed out her armor and assault training, put her with the sniper rifle and assault rifle, and watched things die.

Yes, armor and assault training are vital with Ash, armor to get her in that glorious heavy colossus armor, and get assault training to attleast 5 to unlock fitness, and max fitness for immunity at max (aka Ash is in god mode) Assault rifle should be your weapon of choice to rank Ash with, but Sniper rifle once assault rifle is at level 7 is also pretty good.

Ashley is exceptional with an assault rifle, and she's also good at sniping. I just give her the Spectre weapons and let her do the job. She's a total tank at Level 60.

Excellent! Would you be interested in me posting Wake, or linking to it?

Probably post, since it's only the one chapter of that particular fic and it's not very long.

SilverRose, just read what I think is your newest story: "The Armor We Wear". Very good. When I picture Ash, it's just as you write her....you're really good.

All you fanfic folks are talented, I can't write my own name sometimes. :)

And don't sell yourself short - that drawing you unveiled yesterday was absolutely fantastic!

They are soldiers, after all...

Epoch, you next one should have Ash in a Heavy Onxy Armor like Shepard. Oh edit so the Left Chest piece has B4 on it, just like Shepard's N7

I never understand why Shep runs around with a big N7 on his/her armour.

Seems like a target that screams "SHOOT ME FIRST!"

I believe that's the Rule of Cool in action, Giggles.

I see it as Ranking Insignia which it is in a way. In some cases a Higher ranking Soldier might listen/take orders from a lower rank, if he/she is in the special forces. Pretty much says I have seen more than you and have more experience.

it'd be awesome if Ashley's Onyx armor had B4 on it. She and Shep would almost match.

I really enjoyed Ashley as a character. However, I completely lost faith in her after she shot Wrex in the back on my game.

However, I was glad to see her on ME2.

sounds like someone didn't give enough points to their charm or intimidate. I saw the vid of that on youtube and Ash can be completely ruthless sometimes...to bad we had to see that in the form of Cerberus hatred on Horizon....Posted Image

Yeah, I thought for sure she'd be happier to see Shepard kickin' Collector ass on Horizon. Makes me regret saving her on Virmire.

This point is entirely new and fresh.Posted Image I'll say the same thing I said before. Wrex is a 800-pound mountain of muscle and bone that happens to be armed to the teeth. What is she supposed to do? Let him rip Shepard's arm off and beat him over the head with it?

Shepard has killed plenty of Krogan on his journey. He could have handled Wrex, he had a gun aimed right at him.. Besides, I felt I could have talked Wrex out of it if I had had more time.

@ Retro You could have talked Wrex out of it if you had more charm or intimidate points. Ash only does what shep told her to do. Be ready. She was ready. If your Shep lost Wrex , it isn't Ashley's fault. Just saying.

*Sigh* You are right... Now I feel bad for starting an arguement.  : (

The only thing I regret at Horizon is, that I can't punch Shepard's face for being such a jerk. I can totally understand Ash, because all Shepard has to say to her was lame at the best.

And as for Virmire: You might want to go back in this thread to around page ... dunno, 60-70? There was a lengthy discussion on the topic of Ash shooting Wrex. Anyway, the conclusion was more or less, that if anyone is to blame it would be Shepard, as he gives her the order to watch his back.

I don't want to recycle all the arguments, but it falls short to two things:
On a metagaming point of view it is the fault of the player if Wrex dies, because there are two options of avoiding his death: Either do his quest, or spend sufficient points in charm/intimidate. Did not do it? Your own fault, don't blame Ash.
On an in-character point of view: After the discussion with Kaidan and Ash about Wrex's anger, Shepard directly addresses Ash and tells her "watch my back". What is she supposed to do then, the moment Wrex attacks Shepard? Disobey a direct order from her superior officer and let him get severly wounded or die? That would most likely be followed by some kind of military jury and her ending in prison (if Shepard actually dies).
What other options beside shooting does she have to save Shepard? Against a charging Krogan Battlemaster? Do you think a bullet in his leg would have stopped him? I don't. The moment Wrex charges, Ash has no choice. And the only one who can be blamed (imho) is Shepard (because he commanded her) or the player (because he did not prepare his ingame avatar accordingly).

E: cleaning some typos .... and ..
Realizing that the Ash-crowd seems to be quity picky about the Wrex-Virmire encounter :P
There has been quite a few responses during the time it took me to write my posting ^^, it's good to see you guys and gals are as much protective about Ash, as I am. I hope you took no offense, Retroguy, but the craowd in this thread will always take Ash's side <3
