so, um, what happened to the old thread?

It was locked for off-topicness. For some reason the Talimancers got their old thread back but we're now stuck as the runt of the litter.Posted Image

I never really posted in the other thread, but Ash is my favorite character. Sucks the thread got locked.... I'm sure the other character love groups have been just as off-topic.....aka tali thread.

EDIT: LOL! *is already a member of that group* ... I was there when it started, but no one ever posted there. So I never did either. lol

Reed, you were one of like the original members of the Ash fan club group. I remember your name

Also Badpie, planning on any more ash fics? Yours are like the only ones I ever read.

anyway back on topic the ME2 crew is too rogue/renagade ashley is a by the book marnie i dont see her getting along very well with many of them.

On the contrary, Ashley is more along the lines of Chaotic Good, I think.

She never demonstrates a marked "law and order" or "by the books" mentality so I would classify her as a Paragade in either stage.

I don't see the SR2 crew as particularly renegade, maybe just Grunt Jack and Zaeed. Of those three I think Ash would only really like Grunt, because he's just so cute.:wizard: Jacob's pretty much a by-the-book soldier type too, and Miri seems like she's been in the dark about Cerberus' dark side.

I am indeed working on fics. :kissing:

I would also call Ash paragade.  She's a by the book marine, but she thinks outside the box I think.  She's willing to do whatever needs to be done - within reason.  And she accepts that some of those things will be ...unpleasant.  I might call her chaotic good too, except that I don't feel like she's all that chaotic.  I feel like you always know what you're getting with Ash, especially when it comes to a fight (I mean that in a good way).

How much actually changes if you 'paragon' Ash anyway? I one of your conversations goes a little differently and she says you made her start believing in the Council. Is there anything else?

I don't understand how anyone can call her truely by the book when she fully supports Shepard in commandeering the Normandy.

That is not the actions of someone who operates by the book, that is the action of someone willing to fight for what they believe is right, at any cost.

Indeed, if she was by the books I think she would be more...rigid in character.

Well, anyone who was paying attention on that journey and knew the Reapers were real would support Shep taking the Normandy. It's either that or all sentient life in the galaxy dies.

If she was by the books she wouldn't have offered Shepard a drink in the first place

ok maybe i put it the wrong way when i said "by the book" what i meant was that the ME2 team seem more extreme than her charecter, and she might not blend well with them beacuz of some of there personalties and things theyve done compared too her.

Right. Chaotic Good doesn't mean chaotic in personality, it means you're willing to go against governments or leadership to do the right thing.

I disagree on the getting along front but yeah, the ME2 crew was all amped up to 11 in terms of badassitude.

I think she is more "Lawful" good b/c .... if she were chaotic good she would have definitely helped Shepard stop the collectors for the good of humanity. Cerberus were the only ones doing anything about it, but she refused to help....she doesn't like cerberus b/c of some of the things they do. (Most of which are against the law....hence Lawful Good). If not Lawful, then Neutral Good.... I don't think she's chaotic, meaning willing to do anything for the greater good.

In the beginning, while she may not have agreed with Cerberus methods, I'm pretty certain that she would have at least respected Cerberus objectives to protect human interests.
However, you must remember that Ashley then becomes under the impression that Cerberus are involved with the disappearing colonies and is investigating accordingly. When you meet her on Horizon, she probably isn't fully aware that Cerberus aren't involved and makes it perfectly clear that she won't work for them.

I reckon however that if you were to contact Ash after she has emailed you and had time to reflect, she would be alot more willing to join you and Cerberus in fighting the Collectors.

1. From a metagaming perspective, that's the writer's fault, not her's.
2. She literally cannot, she's a soldier, therefore if she joined Shepard that would be deserting, a very serious offense. Also, Cerberus is a terrorist organization, it would be extremely unwise to join up without checking up on Shepard and thinking about it for a while.

I think she probably thought the wool was being pulled over Shepard's eyes more than she thought he was betraying everything. She doesn't trust Cerberus - and like she said it worried her that Shepard did. She had to have been wondering what lies they'd told him.

If she was certain that it was the right thing to do, considering how quickly she was willing to commit treason with Shephard, I doubt deserting would bother her too much.

Metagaming reason. She cannot join because the writers don't want her too.
Also, I would respect her less if she joined up with the space IRA without a second thought.
