Nice Batlass.

For a name, maybe "Alliances" :)

Not to change the subject, just wanted to let you all see my WIP of a new Ash pic I want to finish. I did a sketch of the overall concept (just pose really) and I want to give it a comic coloring treatment, and since I am not much good at it, it might take a while. :)

I promise to strive for accuracy with the face!

Ha, "Alliances" would be a great name for that DLC ....
And as I direly want to bump our thread (11hours without a posting is too long ^^), I hvae to come up with a new topic :)

What weapon (from the ME2 arsenal) would you pair Ashley with? I tend to give my squadmates a weapon I think fits for them, as Grunt=Claymore, Zaeed=Mattock and so on ... Which weapon do think would fit best for Ashley, for her personality as well as for her combat style?
I'm in between the Vindicator (very good accuracy, controlled combat) and the Avenger (surpressing fire, support her specialised teammates). What di you think?

Edit:
the more I think about it, I would vote for the Avenger. I can see Ash controlling the battlefield with supressing fire, not necessarily dealing devastating blows, but keep the enemy low and making space for her squadmates to advance and outflank. I think Ash would fit this role very well. A supporter you can 100% rely on.

I would have to give ME2 another playthrough before I could offer a legitimate response to this question...I tend to view most of the weaponry as interchangeable given the lack of actual stats for comparing the differences.

However, to keep this post somewhat on-topic...I drove past a place called "Shepley's" today, and seeing it totally made my day.

Hey all, I just thought I would drop this in so that all the Ash fans could take a look. It was my theory on how the 'Virmire Survivor' DLC could accommodate both parties (I.e people who did romance and people who didn't) essentially it involved a main 'canon' ending and an additional ending for those who did romance. I used Ashley for obvious reasons, as my example:

"Maybe to accomadate those who didn't romance Ashley/Kaiden there can be the main ending of the mission where Ashley/Kaiden salute Shepard in a friendly way before leaving on an Alliance shuttle but also for the benefit of those who did romance them an additional scene in which they return, briefly, on the Normandy to have some extra time with Shepard. Like time to themselves sort of time.
I mean I remember Badpie put up a fan fiction a while back where Ashley and Shepard are having an awkward conversation and she is soon going to be taken via shuttle back to Alliance space but in the meantime they try to talk it through and ponder what kind of a future they have and, as expected, their emotions get the better of them and they end up making love.
After which Ashley leaves and there is still that ambiguity about what the future holds but it still ultimatley ends on a hopeful note."

So yeah that's a way I'd like to see the Virmire Survivor DLC (if it comes to be) end. What does everyone else think?

That way Bioware could give Ash and Kaiden fans the romance scene they miss while still being able to keep the future ambiguous for Mass Effect 3. I reckon that could work perfectly.

Reading Batlass's post on the previous page makes me weep for what what could've been...

It seems like Bioware has a hard time developing characters for a prolonged period. They have no trouble in their initial creation and their growth in a single game, but when it comes to continuing that growth they seem to hit a snag.

Either they do stuff completely out of character (The virmire survivor, Liara) or they dont have any real growth at all/not enough dialogue to show it (Calibrations, anyone?).

I think Ash would need three weapons so I would say: Vindicator, and the Revenant as a upgrade (Like how Grunt gets the Claymore) The Viper Sniper Rifle, and last but not least the boomstick the Eviscerator Shotgun.

And awsome work Raanz, I cant wait for the finished piece.

I reckon if Ashley were to get a weapon upgrade it would be the revenant. If I remember correctly, that's the one with a heavy rate of fire.

To me, that translates to a giant sign reading:

ASH

Also I would love to see her operating a Collector beam or some kind of equivalent. That would be sweet.

It would be a heavy risk--NO!

But yes, I think Ash and the Revenant would be boomstick friends. When all the other AR's are running out of ammo, the Revenant is still going strong. Ash needs a weapon like that, fits her perfectly.

Revenant would be a good weapon for Ash for its rate of fire. But for precision I can see her digging the Mattock. :)

My Shep is a soldier though so he'd be packing one of those, which means Ash may be toting a good old fashioned short range shot gun.

And that's looking really good, Raanz!  I'm jealous of your artistic abilities. ^_^

Raanz, that picture looks awesome! Especially since Ash has her hair down...something I'm sure all of us would like to see at some point in ME3.

I think Ash would be particularly fond of the heavy weapons in the game (and, damn it, she should be able to use them!). In particular, I'm definitely suspecting she'd quickly grow fond of the Cain.

"Look, Skipper! It's a YMIR mech! Can I nuke him?"
"You just nuked the last one like five minutes ago."
"Yeah, but... that was the last one. This is a different one."
"Okay, fine. But this time, can you at least warn me first? I mean, I almost crap--"
BOOM!
"Heh. This... I like."

Ash should absolutely be able to use heavy weapons. I'd even take it as one of her special abilities, sort of like the Carnage Blast in ME1, except it's an effin nuke.

That's a cool idea, to let Ash use heavy weapons as here "Loyalty Skill". I would like to see that.

But I'm not so sure, she would like the Cain. I can see her having a lot of fun with the Avalanche and the Grenade Launcher.

I would love to see this at some point. That would be sweet.

I demand that she refers to the heavy explosive weapons as 'groovy' at some point. It seems fitting.

Hello again,

maybe I'm beating the DLC wishlist to death, but there's a summary letter I posted in the, "Ashley for ME3 Squadmember," group that I was thinking about sending to Christine Norman. Could I please get your guys' opinion?

And also, to contribute to the discussion:

Ashley would be perfectly suited to a heavy weapon; if she can wear heavy armor, she's obviously strong to handle the stronger artillery.

This seems to be the case.  Even the major NPC's from ME 1 were toned down in favor for new ones.  Baldur's Gate 2 in a way suffered from this as well in its handling, granted there wasn't that much to work with from the first game.
