If they went and set it on earth, that'd sell a few copies for sure.

Ok discussion, I lurked in the kaidan thread for a minute, and they had an interesting conversation, in the liara dlc, they updated her appearance. At the very least her face texture was overhauled, maybe her model. Anyways, if/when they do the VS dlc, would you be ok, or would you actually want them to do the same for ash?

I would.  For a couple of reasons:
I didn't think her face or her texture changed much at all.  Kaid did look a bit more realistic on Horizon, but I feel Ash wasn't given the same treatment.
I think if Liara gets a new overhaul, Kaid and Ash should too.  Maybe I'm a graphics snob, but she looked so much more realistic in LotSB--it was like night and day.  Ash and Kaid deserve the same treatment.  It helps add to the immersion.
I think some sort of outward appearance would reflect her character growth.  She always wears the Phoenix armor.  I would like to see her with cropped hair like in her concept art, but that's just me.

They most likely will, probably not just the VS too.Casey Hudson mentioned in an interview how they're trying to go for a more cinematic look, in that the characters body language and face are more expressive. The more detailed Liara face was the begining of this.
Also Ash's Phoenix armor is iconic, she's wearing it on the box of ME1, so she should keep it, I think (Although a Phoenix 2.0 or something would be pretty awesome too).

In any VS DCL Bioware come up with, I really hope they promote Ashley again, this time to Lieutenant. And there could be political motivations behind it as well, such as the cover story for the defense of Horizon being Ash held off the Collectors long enough for some of the colonists to escape from them, and thus earning the promotion.

Whether or not this is the case, I would like to see Ashley look more executive. Because, as far as I understand, she's been running ops for Alliance Command by herself or possibly commanding a small unit of operatives. Proving that she is capable on her own beyond the field of battle.

I think an updated look should reflect this. While the Phoenix armor will always be special to me, I think it would be interesting to see an "Alliance Operative" uniform. Perhaps some N7 armor? Or at least something with the gray and red color scheme. I would like to see them be put forward more as character reprisenting the Alliance, and the Alliance being the reprisentative of humans everywhere in the galaxy. Since the red in the N7 armor is supposed to signify human blood, I think it would be fitting to put it on the VS's armor.

Physically, I think maybe a change in hair style. My personal suggestion would be the same style Cortana from Halo has. Or, maybe just a tighter bun higher on her head.

And should they make her look more ethnic? Nothing too drastic, but maybe adjusting the skin tone a bit?

And I loved what they did with Liara's eyes in LotSB, and I would like to see Ash's brown eyes look a little more vibrant. Someone-famous-who-I-forget-their-name once said that "the eyes are gateways to the soul". But again, nothing too drastic.

Just asked the same question in the Kaidan support thread.

So how does any of you feel about getting screwed over again in the Liara DLC?

I'm hoping that we're not screwed over, we're just waiting for the bone that they're hopefully going to throw us. Of course, that means getting voice actors on board, but I'm hoping that they're under contract. They were able to get Liara again, after all.

Not upset at all about the VS romance being ignored again?

Unless someone makes an official statement that there won't ever be any DLC for the VS, I'm going to optimistically assume that it's coming. Patience is not my strongest virtue, but being the rabid Mass Effect fan that I am, I'll wait.

Well the VS wasn't really screwed over, as the Liara DLC was planned from the start. If they do a DLC i'll be very happy, but if they dont then they'll still be there in ME3. Infact they'll probably have a much larger role than Liara will too since she's the Shadow Broker now, and will most likely not be in a squadmate position. So think of it that way; possibly less now, but also possibly much more later.

If the VS isn't in ME3, you can be consoled by the fact that none of the other squad mates are in either. Because if they aren't in, the ME2 squad certainly isn't.

Not surprised. Liara is pretty much the little-miss-perfect of the Mass Effect universe. You know she'll be getting a lot of content in ME3 simply because she's the only companion that can't die. All other romances and such... probably less.

Hi easygame88 - thanks for the support, and welcome!

As for the other conversation... I wouldn't expected the VS to be featured in a Liara DLC. It is, after all, the Liara DLC. I think that the fans of the ME1 LIs have had a long and successful tradition of standing together, and it's important to not insult the other characters - including Liara. Sure, it's hard in the face of all the attention that she receives, but we need to remain optimistic that Ash and Kaidan will get their time in the sun. If anything, the Liara DLC has proved to me that BioWare does have story arcs planned that will explain the reaction our favorite characters had to us in ME2.

Stay strong, guys. Ash is worth it. Hold the line!

Oh, they know exactly what their doing. I hope no one believes they're just making this stuff up on the fly. Like the liara cameo, the VS cameo was so terribly not finished in the base game, that I'm fully expecting some dlc soon™.

Looking back on the email, it also sounds like she tried to actively not think about Shepard. But out of the 3 original LIs, I think Ash handled her grief the best.

Ashley: read poetry, pray, and try to move on
Liara: focused on revenge for the past two years
Kaidan: depressed and reminiscing for the past two years

At its simplest and shortest. It's not meant to diss the LIs in anyway, it's just IMHO.

Don't forget that Ashley also has a great support system in her family.  So while I'm sure she was in a dark place she had people to put her back up against.  I don't know that Kaidan did really.  He seems the quiet, broody type.  And like you said, Liara just kind of shut off and focused her energy elsewhere.

As for Kaidan, he mentioned the date, but I dont' think there was any real "moving on."  I think he finally did it just so he could say he tried.  I don't think he had any intention of letting himself be happy, which makes me sad for Kaibearz.  :crying:

Ashley "moved on" like she said and I genuinely believe that she did in a healthy way...eventually.  Because she's not the type to dwell.  She buries things and convinces herself she let them go (even if she hasn't, which I'm guessing becomes apparent when she's faced with something again).  I have no doubt that the night after Horizon was spent in the depths of despair consuming copious amounts of booze and generally just feeling blindsided and horrified by the day's events.

Dropping by to support the wonderful Ashley Williams. Still one of my favorite Mass Effect characters. I fully support a DLC with her that will re-introduce her into the story and rekindle the friendship my Shepard and her shared in ME1.

Yeah, I feel it needs a daft caption though, something about the way Shepard is looking in a completely different direction to Ash;

Ash; "Wow the Citadel is huge!"

Shepard; *thinks* "Did that frigate just launch a penguin from the airlock?!? I'm going to have to tell animal protection about tha- wait...no its a guy in a suit. Ha.

I love that scene!

Joker: "Well, size isn't everything."
Ashley: "Why so touchy, Joker?"
Joker: "I'm just saying, you need firepower too."

And I love how Kaidan is being calm in the background while Shepard and Ashley are gawking outside at the window.

Naw Brody, he's just taking the chance to kill two birds with one stone, that is stare at two great butts at one time. Thats why he stays back. If you use flycam, he is smirking...I don't blame him as a chick straight as a helix ruler, even I noticed Ash's hind!

I can't use Flycam....or hex editors....or any of the cool applications PC users get to have.  The sadness of being an Xbox user.

But is Kaidan really smirking?  Wouldn't blame him for looking though, both Ash and FemShep are in nice shape.

I think I'll stay in this thread for a bit, it's nice and cosy.
