In response to any Ash hate I say this.

Some men can't handle a strong woman.

Some men are extremely turned on by a strong woman.

I am the latter.B)

Quoted for the truth and the awesomeness.

I loved the fact that Ashley was strong and tough, it made her so much more interesting and frankly, it added to her attractiveness.

The worst I think, honestly is that people use the label 'racist' to apply to Ashley overlooking the fact that she has at least some right to be distrustful of aliens what with the bad family history and all that and lack of personal experience, but they seem to think that they are allowed to dislike Ashley's religious side entirely based on the fact that she is religious.

i.e Ashley isn't allowed to have a few prejudices based on bad personal history but they are allowed to hate religious people just because they don't like them. That I always found rather nasty, because Ashley's isn't bigotry or discrimination as much as it is just prejudice but with the people ragging on her and indeed all people around the world for being religious, there really isn't any of taht same justification.

So in a sense in their effort to hate Ashley for being bigoted, they reveal that they themselves are bigoted.

Plus, I guess I missed the memo where suddenly after years of slaughtering aliens in Halo, Half Life, Quake, Gears of War, Crysis, Contra, Space Invaders, Dark Void, Duke Nukem, the Conduit, Metroid and so very many others, suddenly gamers are the leading authority on the ethical rights of aliens.

Still, discussing the hate is such a... hateful thing to do, so let's just overlook that and try and be happy again:

That should do it.,

I wonder if it'd be nice to meet another Williams sister in ME3?

Sarah might be the obvious choice (she's the one how called Ash in ME1, right?), since her opinion on the potential "hotness" of either MaleShep or Kaidan would allow for amusing (or even touching, if it's Kaidan who meets her) interaction.

I think Sarah too.
One discussion a couple of days ago in the DLC thread was regarding who Ashley and Kaidan could potentially meet (more likely to happen in ME3) from Ash or Kaidan's life. We were discussion Ashley's family. There wasn't really anybody we could meet from Kaidan's who was super-close to him, so we were thinking Ashley's family could me met, even if we saved Kaidan. It would save money and resources too.
But the conversation could go a whole different route if you sacrificed Ash on Virmire. That and the fact that you've teamed up with Cerberus would make for one angry confrontation.
I could see Ash's family getting mad since Shep joined Cerberus, but that would be overshadowed by the fact that Ash saved Shepard.

Hot Pink Rocks and is a must for ME3 or at lease being able to customize your squads armor like Shepard's in ME2

Hey, new topic for discussion:

If you were allowed to see Ashley perform one ridiculous over the top action movie style stunt in any coming DLC or even Mass Effect 3, what would it be?

True I think one of the best things about Ashley is that her strength is believable but if I had to pick one ridiculously awesome (or alternatively awesomely cheesy) moment of pure badassery I would choose this:

Surrounded by an enclosing horde of husks, while a huge heavy tank glides slowly towards her, Ashley pulls out her shotgun and begins to fire it like crazy while rotating and turning in all directions, blasting every single husk away before they even get close enough to touch her and then when she needs to reload she just throws the ammo into the air and catches it into shotgun, ****s it, and then goes right back to firing.

And then she runs for the tank, leaps up and somehow defies gravity and throws an explosive over the tank. She then calmly walks away from the tank and as it explodes she puts on a pair of sunglasses and says a badass quip for the camera.

So yeah, that's my pick. How about you, if you could see Ashley do one major ridiculously awesome stunt, what would it be?

Your idea was what I had in mind before I even finished reading the question.

Except for the sunglasses and camera quip.

So I agree with you.

Hm... Cutscene Power to the Max? Posted Image

How about a reversal of sorts of her true intro in ME1 (ie. not the transmission)?

Shepard and co are racing to save an unnamed Alliance operative from an overwhelming merc force.

We find it's Ash, whose calmly conducting a fighting withdrawal, taking out charging mercs with precise shots, perhaps using a variety of weapons (pistol, smgs, assault rifle, even sniper rifles). Then the merc leader, a huge krogan, charges and tries to run her over. Shades of Shepard vs. a certain Yahg, she dodges the charge, trips him up (or actually withstands the charge and deflects him, tho that might be stretching credibility), and blows his head away with a direct shotgun blast. Or does that knife trick Zaeed mentioned, the only thing that intimidated Krogan... Posted Image

The rest of the mercs either flee, or are all dead.

When Shepard and others arrive, there's nothing left except bodies. Ash thanks us with a friendly, but slightly smug "Thanks for the rescue... Commander." (or whatever her line was in ME1).

Singlehandedly taking out a squad of Batarian goons, while in a full facemask so you don't recognize her at first? I could dig that.

Goood morning, all.... just a little shameless advertising. :) There's an update at the Writer's Block, with the results of the previous Ashley-related poll. Also, twb is still seriously lacking Ashley fics - so if any of you have something that you'd like me to host (basically restriction free), PM me. Otherwise, enjoy the fics that are there, and vote on the new poll! :)

Okay guys, everyone knows Horizon was a disapointment, and to add to it ower character development with Ash was not imported, and Ash still had a slight dislike for Aliens for some reason. What do you think Ash should have said if they did import it?

Here is how I could have seen it going down, yes she is still angry, but keep in mind it has to go with the scene:

Shepard: Ash, you know me.

Ash: No I dont, you was the one who taught me that aliens and humans are equals, you and I fought Cerberus side by side, you would never work for them extremists! You are not Shepard, you cant be! You are not my skipper, you are not the man I fell in love with. If Shepard is somewhere under there, I want him back. But you? You are just wearing his face.

With a Revenant the avenger assault rifles are too wimpy

I just finished replaying the Shadow Broker DLC last night. It's a pity that Ash isn't mentioned by Liara at all, nor are there any dossiers on her (or Kaidan for that matter I think). In all 3 playthroughs, my Shep has remained steadfastly loyal to Ash. While I don't think Ash and Liara were too close in ME1, it would have been nice if Shadow Broker picked up on the fact that you didn't cheat, and would lead to Liara asking about how you feel about things with Ash.

Ah well, I'm hoping for an Alliance DLC so we can get some more Ash. ME3 is still going to be a while me thinks...

Ash does get mentioned once:

If you pick the I'm frustrated line at the end with Liara, she says: "I heard what Ashley said on Horizon"

Although this line picks up even if she was not romanced.

Also on Horizon I actually found a way to get through the convo without sounding stupid, although the first line is still equivalent to saying "DUUURRR How you doin?"

Here is one of my three sheps who romanced her by the way:

Right before the hilarity that is Horizon ensues.

I would like to see a scene where my Shep is down, concussive grenade or something...just dazed but can't defend himself, she shields him with dual wielding M-6 Carnifex's, slow-mo, bullet-cam type of shot..shiat flying all around, nice gritty look on her face.....hell that might make a nice pic...I might give it a go sometime. :)

My quickie concept:

I definitely like Ash; I think that her more 'controversial' opinions that she brings up in the first game just make her a more fleshed out character, rather than just another 'chick with a gun' type that we seem to see everywhere these days.

So, I'm almost finished one of my Ash-LI playthroughs, and I got to Ilos; I have to say that I think her romance is the best out of the three original LIs, and my favourite so far.

In terms of believable development, and awesomely written dialogue.

(It beat Kaidan in dialogue, although I think his is still awesomely well-written. But Ash doesn't yell out, "JOKER'S WAITING FOR YOU ON THE BRIDGE!" And she has extra things to say.)

I agree with you on that.  I felt like I had to "work" at developing something with Ash.  Liara threw herself at you and I can't comment on Kaidan since I never did that one.

Yes, Raanz, I felt like Liara threw herself at my ManShep, no offence on Liara's part. I romanced her for LotSB, and for a different romance, but it just felt like, "You're interesting!" and then Shepard is open to a relationship, and then she's, "No! Wait!" and then all of a sudden she visits you in the cabins, "let's meld together!"

I still love Kaidan's romance. I love his dry humour dialogue during the locker scene, and I love Ash's wit--"boom goes my feminine mystique," and I loved how the first words out of her mouth were, "I hate when I'm right." And then she had great dialogue in the quarters. But like I said before, "Joker's waiting for you on the bridge," extra loudly, was the one thing I didn't like about Kaidan's romance. So in the end, Ash wins the tie breaker.
