I agree with you, she has every right to not trust Cerberus, hell Shepard can say they don't trust Cerberus, but that doesn't mean you can't have Shepard's back and give her the benefit of the doubt.Lord Zeuss wrote...
@ADL: I think we can safely agree that the meeting on Horizon was handled badly by both parties. I'm not saying that everything Ash had to say was golden ("What if Cerberus is working with the Collectors?" was a pretty poor line, right up there with "It's been too long, Ash. How've you been?"), but I don't think her distrust of Cerberus was in any way out of line.

Ash was too emotional, Shepard was the exact opposite. Neither one of them had anything useful to say.
Ash couldn't get passed her shock, her hatred of Cerberus, her confusion to even listen to anything Shepard had to say, which didn't matter because Shepard didn't actually say anything useful. "Oh hey, it's been a long time. Anyway yeah. With Cerberus now. Long story. Just go with it." I mean just go with it? Sure if you're a mindless, easily swayed simpleton whose life has stood still for two years just waiting for the big hero to come back and give you an order. But that's not Ash.
Ash has a job. Ash has been living a life for two years. We don't know what kind of responsibilities she has at the moment, but I would guess they're pretty damn big. What kind of a person would she be if she just shirked her current mission or responsibilities to blindly follow a man that is a) supposed to be dead
And then you forget she apologized in her email. And she should have. But I will be pretty pissed if they don't give Shepard a chance to apologize as well because he really needs to. And as soon as that happens they can get passed it and start to actually really talk. Like mature adults.

Shepard's the only one who believes and can do anything about the Reapers since the council and Allaince say sovreign was a geth ship, Garrus was on the Citadel when all the crap was being pushed aside and left for Omega to do some good, Tali went back to the migrant fleet but she still knows the reapers are real and helps shepard regardless of Gender (apparently she doesn't have a crush on Femshep so the crush factor isn't there half the time) and of course Liara did know everything and could easily have sent Ash/Kai something that proves Shepard's actions to be right especially now that she's the shadow broker with access to the Turian and Asari Governments.
Shepard didn't know that Hackett was covering him until after the Shadow Broker DLC. A lot of people don't do that DLC until after the suicide mission.
Even if Shepard did get in touch with Hackett and request that Ash be assigned to the new Normandy - would TIM and Miranda have allowed it?
I get the feeling that TIM would have preferred Shepard to not have contact with his old squad at all. It seems he didn't know that Archangel was Garrus, and he dragged his feet on putting together a dossier on Tali.
I suspect that TIM would have put his foot down and refused to allow Shepard to bring Ash on board, even if Shepard could find a way to convince her to come. I think he would have felt that Ash would push Shepard to think for himself too much, that she would be a destabalizing element in his attempts to manipulate Shepard.
I think the same thing might have happened if Shepard had tried to bring Liara along, by the way. Liara has too much bad blood with Cerberus, and likely would have pushed him too hard to reconsider the Cerberus line.
Granted, Tali and Garrus do question Cerberus, but they're not terribly vocal about it and always end up falling in line with Shepard. Ash, and to a lesser extent, Liara, would likely not have fallen in line as easily.

ashley loved shepard so you would assume she would trust him more than anyone else.. But she felt betrayed and was speaking out of anger and emotion rather than actually thinking about the situation. And i didn't blame her at all, i love how shes emotional and speaks her mind. So the email is basically telling us that she sorry that she acted like that. But shepard still was an ass by the way he greeted her and hopefully we get to make up for that if they do make the Ashley DLC (I call it Ashley DLC because i dont like the term Virmire survivor and i dont have kaiden on any of my saves.)ADLegend21 wrote...

No, I just noted that many of the players don't do the Liara DLC until the end, meaning they wouldn't know about Hackett until after the suicide mission.
As for TIM - for most of the game, EDI was a shackeled AI. If TIM had ordered her to take full control of the Normandy and leave Shepard behind the next time he left the ship, she likely woud have had no choice but to do so. Same thing goes for if he were to order her to drain the atmosphere from Shepard's cabin while he was sleeping - a thought that left me uncomfertable about working on the Normandy until EDI was finally freed to think on her own.
It's not like Cerberus is unwilling to play rough with Shepard. While he's still on the base where he wakes up, Miranda clearly expresses that he has two choices: A) come with her and Jacob or

if Liara was so deadset on breaking up Shep and Cerberus as soon as shep came to Illium she'd have told her what was up and given her information to break ties with them immediatly, but, like garrus and Tali, she trusted shepard to protect herself against Cerberus. But I'm now looking forward to the upcoming DLC in case it is an allaince DLC and we get more ME2 Ashley!!!!!!DWH1982 wrote...

that statement made by miranda back at the lazeras station was clearly sarcastic.. And miranda would have to get thru grunt, garrus, mordin, joker, and possibly jacob to to take the ship and second, the amount of time and resources put into shepard and then kill him because of who he wants to help him is ridiculous.. The illusive man cleary states its up to Shepard who's on his squadDWH1982 wrote...
