While I like what you are doing here. I think the N7 tattoo should be remove, as many people may think that this is a Female Shepard. Ashley is definitely in training mode, wonder if she releasing any of that tension from Horizon?

Agreed, I think a tattoo of the Alliance badge would do.

Hopefully we get to see Ash in workout mode in ME3, punching a punchbag, or something Posted Image

We had to watch Jacob do sit-ups in LoTSB, not as fun as watching Ash take her agression out on a punch bag. The more I think about it, I really want this in ME3! It could bring out alot more to her character, and we get to see her in workout gear. Be great if the Normandy has a gym in ME3.

Ash? Boxing? Workout gear? Yes please! Posted ImagePosted Image

The Alliance logo like Funk said, or the 212 like Badpie said would be pretty good. we dont want Ash getting mistook for femShep now.

But great work Raanz Posted Image

Ash in workout gear is a great idea for a pic. I imagine she has to put a lot of time into keeping her marine hand to hand skills sharp.

Well she IS a marine, so one would suspect that hand to hand combat would be something she would train in a lot, if I remember right her sisters were all trained in some form of martial arts in some way, only natural that she would too. In fact she strikes me as the sort who does hand to hand extreme and grueling physical training every day, after all:
"A Williams has to be better than the best, if only to prevent suspicion."

EDIT: Also Raanz, love the picture. Love it.^_^

Well she mentions her father's friend taught her marine hand to hand combat as a kid. Seeing as she is now in the Military, and a pretty good rank for a enlisted after only a few years, it seems natuaral she would keep at it, keep her skills sharp, with or without a weapon.

She also mentions how she is a straight up puncher, I guess she goes for the knockout punch, but nothing fancy.

I liked how we viewed Liara's apartment in LotSB, I would love to view Ashley's and Kaidan's apartment in a VS dlc. With both of them being in a different location, and with differnt styles and stuff inside based on there seperate personalities.

Ash likes clubbing and loves the lights, sounds and colours of the Wards, so a nice place in the city witth plenty to do will be good for her, with a little gym, a wall of guns, big tv, a huge sound system so she can practice her dancing at home before a night out, poetry books, wall of family photo's, and medals, maybe a photo of Shepard.

while Kaidan likes the quite, and not too much noise, a place in the country on a Colony would be great for him, with fountans and what not to help him relax. And maybe a photo of Shepard too.

What do you guys think we could find in Ash/Kai's apartment?

I think of marine hand to hand as being effective and dirty and not pretty.  Kind of like krav maga or something that doesn't look graceful, but gets the job done.  A far cry from her sister Sarah's agile Aikido training.  Don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to take it on the chin from a left hook from Ash.

;)

I'd love to see Ash's apartment too.  I think it would be small, efficient, not a whole lot of decor since she's rarely there.  Maybe a couple pictures of her family.  I don't feel like you would find anything in her fridge, maybe some old takeout or some frozen meals in her freezer (Ash strikes me as the quick and easy meal type) and maybe a bottle of vodka in there as well.  It would be sparsely furnished I think as like I said I think she wouldn't be there much.

I love this idea, except I'm wondering why Ash would have an N7 tattoo on her arm.

You guys are absolutely correct.  I messed up and put the N7 logo for her tat.  I'll change it to the alliance logo...I feel dumb now.
Ok, going to go with this look with the alliance tattoo.
Thanks for all of the feedback.

In the ME1 playthrough I'm doing now, I've invested quite a few points in Assault Training for Ash.

I am doing this precisely because I know that her character is very well versed in marine hand to hand. If anyone gets too close to Ash in combat, they should suffer from it.

Honestly, if they could pull it off, I think some kind of hand to hand skill should be Ash's "bonus" power under the ME2 skill system.  I'm not sure how to implement  that in a way that would work, though.  It would have to be different enough from Kasumi's bonus skill (which is kind of hand to hand, I guess) to show her as a unique character.

I agree with people who say that Ash's apartment probably wouldn't have much, because she spends so much of her time on missions.  Ash, I'm thinking, would maybe have some workout equipment (if she has the room).  She might keep some of her medals there, and her poetry/weapons collections.  I think she'd have a fairly large book collection beyond poetry, as I'm with some of the people who think that she has a secret love for sappy romance novels.

I also agree that Ash and Kaidan would prefer to live in separate areas.  However, given that they seem to be assigned to Anderson, I suspect they're living on the Citadel.  I imagine cost efficient housing options would be fairly limited.  I can see Kaidan preferring to live on the Presidium, but I doubt he could afford it on a Marine's salary - so he'd probably be stuck in the Wards whether he likes it or not.  Ash, on the other hand, would probably love living in the wards, and never even give the Presidium any thought.

Given what apartments likely cost, even in the wards, I would wonder if maybe Ash would have a roommate.  I think she'd probably prefer another Alliance marine, or maybe a human or even a Turian who works for C-Sec.  But if we wanted to go for an "odd couple" type scenario, I keep having a thought of her getting stuck in the same apartment as an Asari stripper because it was the only place she could find on her budget that wasn't a dump.  I see that situation as being tense, and only workable due to the fact that Ash is away much of the time.

Another thought is that she might just live in marine barracks if the Alliance has set any up on the Citadel.  Humans are really expanding their influence there, so I could see them setting up a housing option like that for their troops.

I just figured the Alliance would put her up in an apartment. They probably have some they own for important visitors or short term assignments, etc.  In short I don't think Ash's apartment is really hers.  I think she's been put up temporarily maybe by the Alliance.

Ah.

In that case, it's definitely in the wards, because I can't see the Alliance putting a marine in a Presidium apartment.

We also wouldn't find many of her personal items.  Probably not much more than she could fit into a suitcase or two, because she realizes that she could have to move fairly quickly.  I'm thinking she wouldn't keep much there other than clothes and a few photographs.  Maybe a few books.

Yes. Though I'm sure the Alliance does have swanky ass apartments on the Presidium and such.  But they would never put one of their marines up in it.

If Ash isn't being put up by the Alliance, maybe she's roommates with that Turian from the flight terminal:

Ash: Could you PLEASE clean the bathroom when you're done using it?
Turian: What? You humans are all racist!

Eh, Ash is in her late 20s. I don't see her having a roommate unless she's staying in some barracks or something.

You know, I just had a thought... Isn't it odd that the supposedly "racist" Alliance marine from ME1 is the one who expresses a preference for living in an area that combines many different alien races and cultures?

More evidence that Ash isn't racist or closed minded at all.

This!

Funny enough im actually arguing with someone who is claiming Ash is racist (again) this guy even had this to say ''How does a writer "confirm" it when the actual game contradicts it?'' when I told him how Ashley's writer confirmed that she aint racist Posted Image Some people on this site can give me a right headache with there ignorance.

Well ash is a marine but she is more of an agent or spec ops now than an actual marine and i say this because she is going off and doing missions on her own which seem to be top level classified and more investigative like. And its also been two years so she must have her own place after that long.

Sometimes - easier to show than to tell. From the "human" character's is most attracted Ashley. In a small video we recall her history and basic character traits. Many of them are very attractive. Ashley Williams is not only a beautiful woman, but ... and the soldiers of the third generation. For her duty to the country above even her own feelings ... In fact, this story about love. Love, which was “born” in battle and it's survived in the difficult situations and preserved in the hearts of the heroes. I suppose that in the third part of the game (ME3) for Ashley will be find “good” place. About this – some fantasy in our film.

I went on the thread and I swore to myself not to get involved and not to make a wall of text in retailation but... couldn't stop myself. Sometimes people really need to be wall of texted. Some people are just so ignorant about this whole thing that it makes me mad.

But still, Ash is worth it.

How does the Presidium have fewer aliens than the Wards? Proportionally, it seems to have more.

Also, in the Wards, it's probably easier to find niche monospecies groups to belong to.

Yeah the whole "Ash is racist" thing is really old. If she was really racist she'd have done something drastic about the Alien crew members on the Normandy.

The Presidium should have fewer of all species - alien and human - compared to the Wards.  It's a place for the elite, while the wards contain most of the Citadel's population.  According to the Mass Effect Wiki entry on the wards, each is "a self contained city about the size of Singapore or Hong Kong."  The entry on the Presidium notes that the wards "are home to most of the Citadel's population and considered more lively" while the Presidium "is considered to be the province of Citadel space's most elite and powerful individuals."  Not every species in the galaxy has an embassy on the Citadel... There are a probably a lot of species that lack an embassy but still have people living in the wards, which would in and of itself help make the wards more diverse.

Also, if you go by the way the wards are described by other characters, it seems like they're fairly diverse. I can't remember the exact quote from Barla Von, but the way he describes them makes it sound like a lot of different cultures interact there. I guess we don't know for sure if there are niches are not, but it seems like it would be hard to live there and not be exposed to other races and cultures.

At least that's my take on it.  The Citadel by its very nature is going to be a diverse place no matter which part of it you're in, but to me the presidium always seemed like a much more cloistered community, where it's easier for everyone to keep to themselves outside of business/politics, or perhaps limit themselves to only interacting with races they are comfertable with.  The wards always seemed like a place where there was a lot more diversity and interaction.

Back on topic - I really like the Ash pics that Babyblue found.  I hope whoever created them does full color versions.

When talking about who Femshep would take as the Robin to her batman, a psoter said her sheps would choose Ashley, but wondered how she'd look in Robin tights. I'd like to see that, would anyone else here say the same?

I just ran into a "drag Ashley through the mud" thread and felt I should voice my support.

I play as a femShep and Ash has always been a favorite for so many reasons. I see her as a great friend for my Shepard. I also always romance Kaidan...so Virmire is never my favorite part of the game.

I feel like she and Kaidan attract a lot of negative attention, for whatever reason. I don't understand it.

Basically, Ashley is awesome. Y'all are awesome. :)
