Eh. Horizon was written terribly. I doubt they intentionally included it as an indicator of her attitude having changed for the worse. More likely, it's simply because both Ashley and Kaidan are completely out of character on Horizon.
I suppose that's true, it just irritates me a bit though.
Also hey Pyro, long time no see.

A part of me thinks they were just trying to go with the dark tone of ME2, trying to make the expierience sad. Instead they made Kaidan and Ashley completely out of character, ow they did make it a sad expierience alright, they ruined a big part of ME2 for alot of people.
And the other part of me thinks they did that intentionally, to try and get us to go with the new shiny Li, who I found mostly shallow compared to the ME1 LI's.
I dont know what Bioware was going for, I just hope it all pays off in ME3, and that we get a spectacular expierience. I'm still hopeful for some VS dlc too! That will make ME2 better for ALOT of people.
I dont want the PS3 fans coming to ME2 and just hating Ash and Kaidan becuase the only tine they see them is on Horizon when they are arguing with Shep, thats gonna bring alot more haters sadly.

I hadn't heard some of them either. Turns out a lot of the renegade dialog choices get some really hot responses from Ash. Suddenly a fan of going renegade. I just love how they seem to talk, like really talk, like real people. She has opinions, he has opinions and that causes some strain on their relationship, but it works out because they're mature adults. I think that's great. Plus, challenging each other just makes them that much hotter together.

I really wish the ME2 romances were as well done as the Ash/Kaidan romances in ME1.
I mean, with Ash, you can actually talk about things - religion, politics, etc. How great would it be to have a conversation like that with Miranda? You can kind of, sort of talk to her about Cerberus, but I feel like Shepard doesn't really press his point of view very hard if you disagree with her. Even if it would ultimately be impossible to change Miranda's mind, it still would have been nice to have a real conversation, like the one where you can "paragon" Ash.
What I'd really like for ME3 is to have Ash back, and to be able to have the same kind of conversations we had with her in the first game.

I know what you mean, a lot of ME2 felt like you were playing psychiatrist, or in the case of Tali's romance, simply getting your ego stroked.

Man, there should be something like this at some future point in time.

Shepard has such a large bed in his quarters on the SR-2.
This picture really makes it hurt that Ash isn't around to help fill it...

Yup. Anyway, I think science is fundamental and that the whole Horizon deal was just to increase the emotional impact of the story. Even though I was about to put my controller through my tv, I still admire bioware for getting me so attached to a character that it hurt to lose them. Jessie Housten would have a mob breaking down his door if Ash isn't in ME3, so I'm sure he'll fit it in there just fine.

That's what we're all hoping for.
I think part of the concern, though, is whether or not Ash will be well written if she's in ME3.
The writer who was responsible for Ash's character in ME1 is no longer with Bioware. That has us concerned a bit.

Heh. That would have been enough to make me leave.
I'm waiting to see if there's a Virmire Survivor DLC. If there is, and it's done well, I'll feel a little better about Ash's role in ME3.
I really enjoyed the Liara DLC, and thought that, for the most part, it was well written. I really hope we can get something like that.
