As they felt like the only characters in both ME's that I could relate to. Most of the other characters seemed like they were written by marvel, having a squad of super hero's.

Interesting. Can you elaborate?

Well I can relate to Ash the most, me being a military brat, and the military being tradition in my family.

And ofcourse, family, that actually get along. Miranda has her sister, and Mordin has his nepthew, but the rest seem to hate there family. Ash loves her family, And I pressume Kaidan loves his mother due to the sweater comment (meaning he must keep in contact often)

Friendship, most of the squad dont seem to get along, but Joker, Kaidan and Ash seemed like good pals to me.

The topics we discuss, we speak to Ash about religion, poliitics, family ect. And Shepard got to actually talk about him/herself, we can choose what Shepard believes in for a change and shape him as a character, instead of just shaping the squadmate.

Here everyone. Have an almost film grain kiss.

Fixed ;)

Hey we can't all be great artists, buddy.  Some of us have to rely on the blurry grainy effects to cover our mistakes.  :pinched:

;)

No worries. I'd only be complaining if their faces were inside each other's like before

Haha! That wasn't my fault. That was an actual screenshot. Blame the animators! :D

I'm having an awful day of missing Ash and feeling even more certain that Bioware hates her and Kaidan and I'm despairing at the thought they won't even BE in ME3 aside from another stupid cameo where they're suddenly named Andy and Kevin because none of the writers can remember their names.

Bimmy and Jimmy? :D

But seriously, I want to kill something with Ash/Kaidan at my side in ME2 :(

Okay, I have a question for the thread:

Was there a 'moment' for you in your realization that you loved Ash? (Either as an LI or an awesome character). If so, what was it?

As a practicing Christian, I actually squeed when she told canon!Shep that she believed in God. Shep was all "eh, I'm agnostic," but for me, that was the moment when Ashley really clicked as a character. She was nervous about telling Shep, because she was worried he'd call her a fanatic, which to me was totally realistic. Everything wicked she did from point on was frosting, because I was sold.

I can't personally point to a 'moment.' As time went on, she just grew on me <3

yeah it's like Bioware's saying "you chose the human? Over Liara?! SHE'S BLUE are you dumb?" I like Liara don't get me wrong, but she's no Ashley/Kaidan.

When she told me about her family (that and the religion are in the same discussion too!) Thats when I realised how awsome she is, she speaks about them like they are a real, close family, and that was just awsome, becuase it felt real, she loves her family, it was touching.

Pretty much her entrance into the game sold me on her badassery.  I don't remember when it was for me. I think just in speaking with her pretty early on I kinda said to myself "this chick is awesome."  Haha

EDIT:  Lookin' good, Raanz!  :D

That was a big moment for me as well. But I think my personal "aha!" moment was her conversation about Sarah and Mike, that was when I realized, "Hey! She's a real person! Sure this is suspend-your-disbelief-from-the-top-of-the-Sears-Tower sci-fi, but I feel like I could bump into her on the street."

*Lurk mode disengaged*

"You make me feel good enough." I swear that line knocked me head over heels for Ash.Only two moments have ever come close to topping that.

1. TIM: "They might be going after her to get to you."
2. the picture scene before the omega 4 relay

For me it was when she started reciting Tennyson I thought I was the only wierd person that likes poetry. Then O' Captain My Captain I just picture the kids from Dead Poets Society standing up on their desks.

I agree with Karvarn - that smile in the Medbay, after Eden Prime, is when I think I decided she was probably going to be the LI for my Shepard in the first game I played. In my canon Shepard's story, that's when he started to fall for her.

What's interesting about that first playthrough was that I was open to romancing Liara, and I wanted to go back with another character to try the Liara romance even if I didn't. I never did that though. I just don't find Liara a compelling LI. Same goes for most of the ME2 LI options.

What can I say. I am a grouchy old man that is tired of the way bioware treats Ash and Ash fans.

"Well, size isn't everything."
"Why so touchy, Joker?"

And when she is telling me about Tennyson and her belief in God.  I thought that was some interesting, deep character development.  Giving your characters personal interests and beliefs, rather than just the regular background?  Nice!

When did I fall in love with Ashley? well I always had a thing for girls who's names started with A (Angela and Ashley are my favorite girl names) I also loved how she was mature about the Aliens and worked with them (did more inmy headcannon fic Guns and Poems) Or it might have been when I saw her outstandingly beautiful physic outside of her Medium/Heavy Armor.
