With the whole Bioware phasing Ash out thing, I am feeling pretty optomistic(insert ash comment here) about it. They'er probably just creating drama until the finale.

well so much for any DLC related to Alenko/Ash after the ps3 of mass effect 2 came out
Oh come on, we've got one more piece left! Anyway, the flashlight heads over at bioware need to tie up the whole Alliance/Cerberus dillema. They could easily bring Ash and Cerberus-affiliated characters back with that. I mean, from their standpoint, they're wrapping up two plot points with one stone.

Okay, I have a question for the thread:
Was there a 'moment' for you in your realization that you loved Ash? (Either as an LI or an awesome character). If so, what was it?
As a practicing Christian, I actually squeed when she told canon!Shep that she believed in God. Shep was all "eh, I'm agnostic," but for me, that was the moment when Ashley really clicked as a character. She was nervous about telling Shep, because she was worried he'd call her a fanatic, which to me was totally realistic. Everything wicked she did from point on was frosting, because I was sold.
The very second I heard the 'boomstick' line to be honest.

I think there's just some disappointment over the fact that a VS DLC wasn't announced.

Also, Cerberus Daily News hasn't stopped yet. And they clearly said that it would restart for a week before the DLC is released.

A week before they release it. That doesn't mean they can't announce it sooner. Hopefully they do..DWH1982 wrote...
As much as I'm hoping that the DLC announcement will be sooner rather than later, I suspect it will be a few months before we hear anything.

I can't help but wonder what her sisters are like. Sometimes siblings can be very different from each other in terms of personality and world view.

it will be nice. But I got concern about seeing even Ash in ME3.. Sorry. I lost hope after what BW did in the comic.Funkcase wrote...
We learn a great deal about Ashley's sisters in ME1, but we learn about Sarah the most. In ME3 I would like to learn more about Lynn, Abby and ofcourse more about Sarah. I would love to hear about the down times Ash and Sarah had, Ash said they didn't always get along although they eventually bonded.

I know what you mean, and same here. I lost faith since Horizon, and then I heard Chris L'Etoile had left Bioware, that made me a sad puppy, he wrote Ash so well

What a crock. If you ask me, in her current position she's no different to Liara or Wrex, both of whom didn't come with you either. They didn't get condemned for it. So Ashley shouldn't either, she apologized and both believes you, understands your position and has (either intentionally or not) in one instance helped you and is attempting to still by trying to convince the Council of the Reaper threat.
Sure she didn't succeed but she did still try to find something, a far cry from the idea that she's 'forsaken' Shepard and the Reaper threat.
That's what matters to me, anyway.
Seriously though, people act like Ashley/Kaiden completely abandoned the cause and are now denying the Reapers, you ask me the little subtle hints that are very easy to spot should speak loud enough. From my view anyway.
That's exactly it! They act as though she was never on Shepard's side to begin with. It feels like breaking a friendship over one argument. Even with all the time spent together...somehow one misunderstanding is all it takes.
Of course, from what I've seen, people are mostly stuck on the "Why didn't you try to contact me?" part. Que all the smartass comments about not being able to call them from beyond the grave. Never stops being funny. I've brought this up before, but...no duh Shepard was dead for the better part of two years. I think Ashley and Kaiden are very aware of that. It's hard to determine how much time had passed between the revival and Horizon, but...it was long enough, I think. Weeks, maybe a month or two?
Another, more coherent argument, is that Ashley wants to make a moral stand, but against something so ominous and deadly as the Reapers, there's no place for it. This is...debatable. Ashley, I think, would rather do things the honest, "right" way, with the group she trusts, the Alliance. Perhaps, in time, if it becomes increasingly obvious that they're not doing enough against the impending invasion, she'll join back up with Shepard. Painful as Horizon was, I honestly can't fault her for her intentions.
As for Wrex and Liara going their seperate ways and not getting nearly as much guff for it...well, Wrex can do no wrong (according to fans, anyway XD), and Liara does still get accused of being a little...off. So there's that.

Hey guy, is it true that both Kaidan AND Ashley were hated a lot before?
I didn't get ME1 until April 2010 so I never visited Bioware forums.
I heard Kaidan was hated a lot. I can get why from some douchebags but Ashley too?
Let me put it this way...I have not seen an Ashley fan who dislikes Kaiden. I have seen Kaiden fans who dislike Ashley.

I think it's mostly becuase there human, notice how all the most popular characters are alien?
I
think they just pick at little things, and things Ash and Kaidan say
and turn it around, Ash says ''it's not racism'' they scream ''racist!''
Kaidan says he ''dosent want you to think im a winer'' they scream
''he's a winer!''. I find it funny, considering although I love
them all, Wrex, Tali and Garrus, Wrex is the biggest racist in the game
nex to the head of Terra firma and TIM. Garrus spends the whole first
game moaning about C-SEC, his father and Dr Saleon, and the second about
Sidonis. And Tali is willing to commit genocide. But becuase they are
alien it dosent mattter, it apparently only applies if you are human,
like how people hate Ash for believing in god (even though she dosent
say what god) And they dont seem to care that Thane and Samara are even
more religious than her. And the Quarian phrase that gets used alot in
ME2 ''Keelah'Selai'' Must be religious, judging by how much it get's
used and in the context it's used.
The codex calls the quarians secularist, so that phrase probably goes along with their ancestor worship. But as far as Thane and Samara go...that's a bit harder. I'm thinking the very mention of God--as in the Judeo Christian God--simply bothers people. Which is a bit ironic, since games like these can go farther and farther all the time, and players get exposed to things that would make the previous generation faint.
I love Tali, Garrus and Wrex, I really do, but...it's come to a point where I'm annoyed when they're always mentioned as any given person's favorite and all the humans are awful and hated and liek super mean and racist. But it always upsets me when the same opinion is expressed over and over...
Sometimes I think I've come to love Ash because she satisfies an urge to be a contrarian. Sometimes.
But yes, being a human probably is a factor. There is a certain...intrigue, mystique about the alien characters. But to assume being an alien automatically makes a character more interesting is asinine.

She is gonna be in ME3 and be better than ever, i garantee it!! Stay optimistic guys Ash is worth it!
Y'all be optimistic. I am way to pissed for that. I love Ash. bioware not so much.
I believe whatever happens will be according to Bioware's plans. That they know what they're going to do with Ash. I just don't know if that's good for us.
I've yet to find a video showing the interactive comic in which shepard choses Ash (or Kaiden), but based on what i did see, it's...a bit disheartening.
I'm pretty optimistic myself...just with extreme caution.

I want to be optimistic about Ash and Kaidan.
The thing is, even if they had planned something good for the VS, I'm not convinced that Bioware is above changing their plans.
I understand that Bioware gave Garrus and Tali larger roles in ME2 than they had planned due to fan demand. If that's the case, what's to keep them from minimizing the role of the VS because Bioware thinks that Ash/Kaidan aren't well liked?
Again, I want to be optimistic - but I worry.
