Nice one Raanz, I certainly hope you are right.

On a different note what is it with all the vs bashing that goes on in these forums? I have very low opinions of a very popular character but I dont go around spouting bs at every chance I get, infact I never have because I respect that they are loved else where in the community......Sorry about that, rant over.

I think i can answer that. I think the choice on Virmire affects people more than they think. It's just easier to write them off as a racist or boring rather than getting to know the two really well and then choosing who lives and who dies.

Of course Horizon didn't help either....:bandit:

Just wanted to drop in and give my support to the awesome character that is Ashley. I never understood why people hated on her and Kaidan so much - give me the sane (yet still interesting) humans over the 'bada*s' aliens any day.

I think you've gotten to the heart of it there - I went into ME1 blind, and got to know and love both Kaidan and Ashley. Virmire was heartbreaking. Is it just me though, or is there more VS hate around here recently?

Whoa! I think I missed something. Since when did grandpa Williams found Cerberus?  That would explain getting blacklisted.  Maybe the Illusive Man used him to help get it started, then put him at Shanxi: Where he would inevitably fail trying to solve an impossible problem and get ridiculed, placing Cerberus firmly in the Illusive Man's control.  It would make sense.  The Illusive Man has a way of smacking expendable resourses(i.e. Williams, Jiro Toshiwa, and others) out of the way to pave a road to greatness for himself.  And i also must have missed the part where Cerberus does anything to actually benefit humanity and not just make money and obtain power.
And yes, i am a beliver in conspiracies.Posted Image

No need to get excited (yet)...Posted Image I'm just idly speculating here: the Evolution comic only has a single issue out, so a lot can happen before we know for sure if Gen. Williams was involved in the creation of Cerberus or not.

The comic suggests that TIM knew Williams at the time of the First Contact War, but that's about it. TIM (Jack) was apparently an up and coming volunteer guerilla fighter under Gen. Williams leadership, nothing more (so far). The comic can still agree with the "official" account of Gen. Williams leading the resistance until the Turians started bombing whole city blocks to kill a 5-man fire team, then surrenderred to spare further civilians losses.

What COULD also happen is an embittered disgraced alliance general, unfairly drummed out of the military, decides to join forces with his old fellow guerilla in the creation of a clandestine milicia out in the colonies; some of his loyal friends still in the military providing him with intelligence and informal support. Not based on simple xenophobia, but on a firm belief that the Turians (or any other aliens out there) may coexist peacefully with humans but will never give them a break if they stand to lose anything by doing so. Thus the seed of Cerberus may have been sown... TIM obviously outlived Gen. Williams, and could have subverted something that started as a self-defence "militia" into the human supremacist organization we so love to hate. Posted Image

I appreciate you clearing that up, Flamewielder. Thank you.

This is just me thinking, but if there were no leaks in Bioware or there wasn't a risk of stuff being sold to the outside world, we would probably never hear about the dlc until it was already out. I can always imaginge Jessie Housten and his cohorts barricading themselves inside a dimly lit dungeon with all of their computer equipment, a soda machine, and some Fritos and just nerding and building a game for like half of a year and then coming into the sunlight when they released a game, then disappearing into the comforting dark again. So nobody feel like it's personal if there isn't much news coming out of Bioware about Ash.

Well, if you check out the "source" of the confirmed ME3 features thread stating returning squaddies, you'll probably conclude (like I did) that the returning squaddie(s) mentionned by the source is probably the VS (as he/she is garanteed to be alive for ME3). And the total absence of any VS-related content strongly suggests Bioware writers do not want to spoil the surprise.

My feeling is: no VS related DLC until after the Evolution comic has run its course. Once the comic has set the table and defined both past/current relationships between Cerberus and the Alliance, I suspect we'll see an Alliance/Cerberus DLC that will involve the VS as a squaddie (like LotSB) and possibly as a lead-in to the story of the bridge DLC and ME3.

Personnel assigned to CDN will now be enlisted in the production of this last piece of bridge DLC and possibly ME3 QA/QC (testing, reporting/solving bugs, etc...). Once the DLC is released, it shouldn't be long before Bioware starts issuing ME3 "reveals" (i.e. by the end of the summer) to whip the fans into a frenzy of pre-ordering... Posted Image

Ashley faaaaaaans!! Seriously though, I just spent the last hour playing catch up on this thread, and I gotta say, Ash fans are the best! I'm working on a fanfic that i've posted in my blog. It's very Ashley friendly, give it a read, let me know what you think.... Oh, and @Raanz, Well done! I wouldn't be surprised to find out you're right. :)

Why do i get the feeling that Bioware is screwing us over with alleged promises of dlcs since nothing came out at all after the release of PS3 ME2...
