Eh, I disagree.  First, the term "cheating" is all wrong.  Generally in ME2 both Ash and Shepard are free to do what they want with whoever they want if you want to get technical.  Would it kind of a be a jerky move on Shepard's part to move on so quickly?  Sure.  But it's not cheating.

And while I think Ash would be hurt by it and even angry, she wouldn't retaliate save for a few hurtful words.  She'd make her point as bluntly as possible, tell Shepard he's a jerk and she's sorry she wasted a year or two of her life thinking about him when she lost him and then she'd move on and keep being the awesome woman she always has been - and poor Shepard will realize just how stupid he is but it would be too late.

Not saying I don't agree with you, but it's really up to the devs to decide how that'll play out. Now, considering Liara's reaction to Shepard getting together with a new LI in ME2, I'd say very little will come from it. Though, devs did announce that there will be consequences for "cheating" on your ME1 LI.

Personally, I find the idea of there being major consequences pointless and silly. Most of the ME2 LI's didn't even exist in ME1. Therefore, the players who imported their Shepards into ME2 may have found that they liked Miranda, Jack or Tali more than Liara or Ashley. Going for a new LI in that case shouldn't be penalized, especially after the whole Horizon fiasco.

I'll say it again Bioware need to hire Badpie for Ashley dialogue in ME3 and must for Love Scene.

What if I was to say I wasn't a fan of ashley. Don't get me wrong she was essential in the game as a combat character but I didn't like her because she was too linear. I mean it was so hard to get her to work with aliens. So that is why I blew her up mwhahaha!

They said the same thing about the Shadow Broker DLC, that there would be "consequences" with Liara if Shepard moved on to someone else. Nothing came of it. So, I wouldn't pay much attention to what the developers say on that subject

As for the topic as a whole - I do think that Ash should comment on it if Shepard moves on, but I think it wouldn't make sense to have more than a conversation devoted to it.

That said, part of it depends on what happens in any Virmire Survivor DLC.  If, for example, Shepard can sleep with Ash in the DLC, even if he's involved with someone else - and Ash isn't aware of it - then I think she should be angrier with him than if he had just moved on and been honest about it.

I don't know, I think Liara's reaction to cheating was pretty much in character for her.  From what I understand, the asari have a much more fluid attitude towards romantic relationships than humans traditionally do.  And remember, in ME1, if Shep drags things out to the 'romantic confrontation' scene and tries to angle for a threesome, Ash blows him off without looking back, whereas Liara seems open to it.  So (from my perspective anyway), Liara's willingness to reconcile with cheating!Shep fits the character Bioware created.  If Ash or Kaidan reacted that way though, I would not be pleased.  They make it pretty clear that they are only interested in monogomy and [possibly, depending on how you interpret things] long-term relationships.  I would like to see actual consequences...by which I mean, if Shep moves on, he'd better not try to come back.  Either in DLC or ME3.

I think it could be argued then that there *were no* consequences for 'cheating' in Lair.

Hey now, that's just not true!  As I recall, Liara spoke to you in a rather snippy tone of voice for one line of dialogue there.

To keep this on-topic, I just started playing Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Kimberly Brooks is voice-acting all over the place!  She's Oracle!  Not that I'm at all preoccupied with the Dark Knight's legacy, but now I just really want them to make a Batgirl video game that she voices...SO EPIC.   :o

(I apologize for visiting my emoticon addiction on the thread).

Edited for wrong "knight." :pinched:

I'm not sure how Ash could possibly know whether or not you've moved on if there's a VS DLC. That, plus the fact that they'll likely set up the DLC so that you can play it at any point after Horizon (like the SB DLC) makes me suspect that, yes, you probably will be able to sleep with Ashley regardless of your status with other members of the squad.

If that's the case, then she should react VERY negatively in ME3 when she finds out. I don't think she'd be physically violent... but she wouldn't be happy.

I think Ash can read Shep pretty well and if you cheated she could tell in the possible VS DLC.

The problem is, if you can play the DLC at any time, you might be able to play before you start a relationship with one of the ME2 squadmates.

If that's the case, there wouldn't be anything for Ash to "read," so it still might be possible to rekindle a relationship with her.  And I doubt the developers will make it impossible to pursue a relationship with the ME2 squadmates if that happens... so, there could be a situation where Shepard gets to sleep both with Ash, and one of the ME2 squaddies.

As I said, if that's possible, Ash should NOT be happy when she finds out in ME3.  If anything, I think it should cause the player to lose both LIs.

Thanks Badpie! These vids are well done, loved them all too. :))

I'm still at work now... but I would add something about Tali romance: you're right Mila, I think the same. Tali is just a little sister for Shepard and we can not see her like a girfriend for him... >.

Honestly, I always thought that Ashley was the right girlfriend for Shepard (Liara also seems a bit like a little sister for him, at least in ME1, but that's just my opinion).

i agree
but for me at least tali became more than just a friend that is like a sister

Damn. That's a bit extreme, but totaly in character for Ash (subtle as a boot to the head).

i agree with you there after horizon they went there own ways maybe even before then when ashley thought he was dead

Okay here's the love scene.  They can fully steal this.

Shepard:  So like...sorry.
Ash:  Yeah.
(awkward silence)

Shepard:  Um....I .....
Ash:  What?
Shepard:  ....Sh*t.  My red and blue choices are grayed out.  Um.....will you accept...."I should go"?

Ash: .........
Shepard:  WHAT?  WHAT?  I can't do anything about it....You're gonna walk away now aren't you?

Ash:  WELL I KINDA HAVE TO!  You ended the dialogue!
Shepard:  THE BUTTON SLIPPED!

Ash: (panicked)  OH MY GOD THEY'RE NEVER GONNA LET US BE TOGETHER!

*Renegade interrupt*

Shepard:  (sees this at bottom of the screen)  Should I take this?
Ash: (looks)  ...Yes?

*HITS TRIGGER AND AWESOME HOT MAKEOUTS ENSUE LEADING TO THE LOCKING OF DOORS AND THE STEAMING OF THE SKYLIGHT*

Later....

Ash:....I really love the interrupt system.
Shepard:  Word.

(high five!)

:wizard:  YOU"RE WELCOME BIOWARE!

Bioware should just hire people from the forums to write the returning characters, Badpie for Ash, Mondo for Jack, and I'm sure there is a Talimancer out there that's really in tune with Tali's character....or not.
