Shepard acted like he just saw an old aquaintance from school...it was fun and sad at the same time...Shepard can persuade dangerous people to surrender but he can't say two non stupid things to the woman he loves...Ash must have been very dissapointed

And angry and hurt.  But she apologized for the things she said.

I will be really pissed if there's no option for Shepard to apologize back because he was just as big of a jerk as she was on Horizon.

Yeah i dont know why you cant open up to her more, i mean you can to Kelly about Ash! And you can shout at Joker about it lol or say ''we let it go'' What the heck does that mean anyway? It's over? We let the argument go and made up?

With everything that has been going on since ME2 im sure Bioware are starting to just forget and ignore the ME1 LI's.

Like probably all of you, i realy love this letter, but there is just one thing that bothers me ''I prayed for you everyday'' ''It was like my prayers were answered' I dont mind the fact Ash is religious i am open minded about stuff like that but this felt out of caracter to me. Like Ash said in ME1 ''Look who i am, do you ever hear me ask for help''  She seems more the type to cry about what happened (When alone, or maybe with her sisters) but wipe her tears and put on a strong face everyday, i cant see her asking for help, and i cant imagine her on her knee's praying. Lovely letter though, it was one of the best parts of ME2, funny how a little bit of text can do so much.

I don't think it's completely out of character, but it's definitely awkward. Without the "I prayed for you everyday", the rest of the paragraph would have seemed more... Ashley-like.

Then again, we don't know how Ashley reacted when she found out Shepard was dead.

The poem was a nice addition, though.

I think Ash praying is perfectly in character. She references God and heaven when Kaidan dies. How much more so would she seek comfort after Shepard dies. I don't think she was praying to bring Shep back from the dead, just that he was safe and at peace.

it seems well within charecter too me,if she didnt pray for shep that would seem out of charecter too me.i think ash is a casul chirstan/catholic,she belives in god prays too god she belives in heaven (she says kaidan and her dad are there) i think she even belives in the whole "he has a great desgn,or life is a test "theory.but i dont think shes heavy duty religous,i dont think she gose too church every sunday,i dont think she makes pilgramges too holylands.but thats just my take on her charecter, feel free to disagree.

Personally, I felt the prayer was a nice touch. The reason why Ash is my favorite squadmate/LI is because her character has the most depth and many different dimensions. Real spirituality is something that Bioware (like everywhere else) is afraid to address for multiple reasons, yet Ash had a touch of it which I was happy about and I would actually like to explore more.

For instance, Bioware introduced the awesome plot device of Shepard dying and resurrecting. So much could have been made of this content and story wise!! How does it make Shep feel, what about his squadmates, considering he is not a clone somehow? Did Shep witness any type of afterlife sequence or anything? Even a dream? This would make a very interesting dynamic between Shepard and Ashley, especially if you told her you believe in God yet we got nothing... Ill chalk it up to political correctness/ time constraint/ maybe just bad writing; but I do hope that in ME3 there is more personal character development for Shepard because that would allow more emotion between all the squadmates.

Another fantastic picture, it's called Magnificent Mass effect Seven, it's by north-green on Deviantart.

From left to right you find:
Kaiden Alenko - US Cavalry
Liara T'Soni - Historian
Urdnot Wrex  - Ex- CSA soldier, now bounty hunter
Captain Shepard - US Cavalry
Garrus Vakarian - Pinkerton
Ashley Williams - US Cavalry
Tali - Native American guide.

They form a rag tag group on the hunt for a rogue US agent named Saren.

I can see what you're talking about with the praying part of her email but it didn't bug me that much. She doesn't necessarily have to be down on her knees to be praying.

I don't see the problem if she was on her knees honestly. Ashley doesn't strike me as the type to be afraid or hide her religion.

I think it's more a symbolic thing, really.

If she was deist instead of Christian it would be a moot issue however.

Listen i was not saying the praying was a bad thing, i just see her as putting on a strong face and getting on with it, torn up inside but trying her best not to show it. ''Look at who i am Shepard, you dont hear me ask for help, I dont need money, a knight in shining armor or a man to make me happy, this is who i am....i like her *with a smile* and you best too''

If she were a deist there'd be no reason for her to be praying in the first place.

(And side note for any lurking mods, DP and I are friends talking about religion. Don't freak out and lock the thread.)

I didn't think you were saying that it was a bad thing.  I simply disagree with your assertion that it's out of character for Ashley.:wizard:

Deists aren't an organized thing. They're are all different kinds, some pray, some do not.

Huh?

Yet another defender of the armor boobs.  Lies.  There's no way that provides support.

well, you see.... it totally distracts the enemy leaving them open for a headshot. :P

plus... you can't go wrong with bewbs...so they should leave the armor that way. lol

Realisticly the armor would'nt be like that no. But Bioware where going for that retro sci-fi look with the armor.

We are talking about the breasts in the armor but it just struck me why did Bioware give Ash's armor a thong over her armor lol.

I think if she believed that God no longer interfered with the universe, that there would be little point in her praying.  Per chance, at that point in her life, she'd be more of a, weak agnostic perhaps?

Not all deists believe that God has withdrawn from human affairs, only some do.
I could see her faith being shaken by Shepard's death though.

it really depends on how religious she is...a very religious person will not have her faith shaken even by her loved one's death...but in Ashley's case i think she was..she was pretty angry with Shep on Horizon...and not because he was working for Cerberus(well not entirely)

Not entirely true, even the most faithful can be shaken in their belief. She might not lose belief entirely but I could see her having doubts.
