Really you alt+tab out....try Xfire and you may never need to do that again. The "in-game web browser" best damn thing to have ever be implemented into a chat system for gaming. If only I was at home playing ME1 I'd take a screen shot and post it while view the forums.

Heh, I have Xfire.  Alttabbing just gets me into far less trouble.  If I use the in-game browser... well... bad things happen.

I have pondered this from time to time. The very idea of coming back from the dead is rather disturbing. One could even make the argument that the sequel's Shepard isn't--can't be--the original Shepard. That the original Commander died and what remains in the world of the living is a mesh of organs and wires--remnants of the Commander suspended by technology--that manages to resemble Shepard in seemingly every way.

I'm sure that whole...business is meant to be ambiguous, players take it however they want. Of course, I'm always amused in that I play a hero who dies, is resurrected and then goes to Omega--and to the Afterlife--and recruit an Archangel, who is one of twelve followers...

...But I digress. To keep it relevant, should Ashley return to Shepard's side, I would be surprised if she didn't  ask about his/her coming back to life. Maybe ask if he/she remembers or saw anything...then, perhaps Shepard would have the option to reply. It would be best if there's no Paragon or Renegade options, but maybe he/she could say things like...recalling a warm feeling or apologizing for not remembering anything or just bluntly saying nothing happened.

Thus far only ONE of my three playthroughs have had me move on. I romanced Jack in one playthrough only because I couldn't resist the temptation to do it just once. In this one Shepard argues that Ashley's moved on and he doesn't want to mess up her life further and subsequently moves on to Jack whom he shares a kindred spirit with.
I largely consider that playthrough 'unimportant' anyway. Just something I did to give romancing Jack a try, and you know what I love Jack but Ashley still gets the gold medal.

My main official 'canon' story still has Shepard hold out for Ash and I honestly think that picture of Shepard gazing at her photo is still more deep and moving. In my main canon story, he found true love that day on Eden Prime and he can't just give up on her. Not after the email gave off hope that she and he could one day be back together again.

It may be a little cheesy but what he's 'fighting for', i.e what keeps him motivated even as darkness looms, is the hope that one day he can be reuinited with his beloved Ashley.

Good question.

I think a Femshep-Ash romance would have been interesting. But to be honest, I don't think it would have made that much of a difference to me.

Not really, but for some reason the Romance/Passion between Ash and ManShep seems..."right" for some reason; like how Liara and Femshep's Romance feels. Probably because it was the only option ever available. That's just me though

Did you do all this as the same, single Shepard? I don't know why I'm like this, but for some reason, I...can't romance different characters as one Shepard. I'm curious about Jack myself, but I would feel compelled to create another Shepard. I just...the one I made for Ashley, I can't picture him with anyone else.

...Interestingly enough, when I was playing my faithful manShep, Jack apparently thought he was...into it...he said no, keep it professional, and then she told me to ****** off. Real nice. Then again, by the end of the game nobody wanted to talk to him anyway XD

I agree, though, the picture scene was very sweet. I like that not all the romance business have to result in anything sexual.

ashley as a bi never thought of her that way it would be a great scene with her and tali
but on a serious note she doesnt seem like the type only some females in mass effect fit that type mainly asari but never thought of her that way

Also I just read through the 'Happy birthday Grunt' thread and I have to ask.... what was that? Can anyone who's been here for longer explain it to me?
I bring it up because I noted that although the person roleplaying as 'Ashley' had a banner about Shepard working with Cerberus 'she' also mentioned something about helping Shepard in the future and I just wanted to know if this was fanservice from Bioware or just a bunch of very organized randoms making a joke thread.

Also, lame. People had to shove the Ashley hate in as well, somehow it's more annoying when they are saying to someone who is RPing as the character. But still wierd thread was wierd.

Also Vuaart Verd I was wondering, could you maybe add the 'Shepard and Ash cuddling' picture (the one where they are in bed' to the OP or do you reckon that's the sort of thing that can't go on the front page?

As much as I would love too, I am trying to keep the OP tasteful. I know some older supporters of Ashley did not like some of the more exotic images on the original thread. So I try and keep it supportive for all viewers.
