Would Ashley ever ask/beg for aid from the rest of the Council given the attack on Earth?

I don't think so.  I can't even imagine it.  If anything i think she'd rip them a new one for not helping (if they weren't helping) and then do whatever was in her own power to help her species home planet.

So no epic "Our fate is in your hands" speech of humility?

Ah well. I suppose that'll be Shepard's job.

I'm not sure why you decided to ask this question.

I would say it's unlikely, certainly not just for herself. Maybe if she were on her own, with no way of contacting other human forces, and had just received a frantic call from her sister Sarah (or other family member) who had been caught in the middle of the attack and is scared to death. Given such a situation where the well-being of her family, her own flesh and blood, is literally and viscerally at stake, she might beg for help from the Council races.

Edit: Of course, I think MillaShepard's suggestion is equally likely. There is just no predicting what someone is going to do when they have run out of options.

It looks like Anderson's keeping Ash busy fighting the good fight already. Ash is no diplomat and she knows it.I think she'd trust Anderson (or Shepard) to plead humanity's case better than herself and get that Council lot organised. That's the reason Shep chose Anderson (if you did) in ME1: he's a soldier and he knows his stuff. If you played paragon and saved the Council, expect him to shine on the Council in ME3.

I'm sure Ash will be suitably grateful to auntie Samara and her fellow asari Justicars for slogging in the trenches with her crew instead of waiting on Thessia for the higher ups to organise their defense while the Earth gets reaped... and I think she'll happily shake Garrus' hand for pulling her squad's backsides with his new band of turian mercs... and I think she'll LOVE how Grunt takes on opponents she'd normally use a TANK against...

Ash may not trust aliens, but she ain't stupid, if she needs there help she will ask for it. She thinks humanity must rely on oweselves, but she doesn't think we should turn down allies. I think people take Ashley not trusting aliens too far.

I dont know why she would be the one asking though. Wouldn't that fall on Hackett, or Anderson/Udina?

Ask?  If it came to that.  She's a human soldier, not an idiot.  If it was clear that humanity needed help to defend itself, I think she'd be willing to ask (though I agree with everything that's been said regarding the questionable appropriateness of making Ash a diplomat).

Beg?  Never.

ASH DOESN'T BEG. PERIOD.
She would probably have to have Shepard and Anderson stop her from choking the life out of the council if the reapers attacked and the council did nothing.  Honestly, I'm with Ash on the subject of the council.  I play as a good guy, but if there was a renegade interrupt that involved Ash and Shep fighting the council hand to hand...

I'd be willing to spare the Asari counicllor; she's not so bad.
Turian one is going down though...dunno about the Salarian.

Anyway, on-topic: Ash doesn't grovel.

No, she would ride into the valley of death (hopefully with Shep at her side) like the Alliance Soldier we know and love. Posted Image

'Forward the Light Brigade!'
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Some one had blunder'd.
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die.
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

I love the Ash pic, I'm guessing that's a representation of her just after she left high school and was a fresh recruit? Either way it's awesome.^_^

&Fire Eye, I don't think Ashley would ever 'beg' for anything... that said if she showed up in thigh high boots and a tinfoil miniskirt I might feel inclined to shamelessly beg a big myself.

.. just a bit.

This is something I've been wondering about for a while.

Let's say Shepard is disloyal with whichever ME2 LI, would Liara be crossing a line if she told Ashley about it?

I think that depends on the context.  Assuming Ashley and Liara still keep in regular contact (which I doubt they do), they were the best of friends, and Ashley was voicing hopes of getting back together with Shepard very loudly, then Liara *might* have the right to interject.

Otherwise, no.  Liara doesn't have the right to intervene whatsoever in that relationship.

If Shepard has a heart, he should be able to tell Ashley that he's moved on in her face; she shouldn't hear it second-hand from an information broker.

hmm good question.  I think if Liara went out of her way to say, taddle on Shepard to Ashley then yes she'd be crossing a line.  But if she were having a conversation with Ashley (perhaps as friends or for whatever reason you can think of that they would be talking) and then brought it up, (especially remembering the conflict in ME1 where Shepard's asked to choose, if you got this diologue) I think she'd be 100% in her own right to do so.  These are just two examples, but my point is that Liara knows how Ashley feels/felt about Shepard (or at least has a pretty good idea) and based on the diologue in ME1 that i mentioned above she also would remember that Shepard chose to be with Ash.  I'm not sure, however if this would bother Ashley or not.  I think at most she might be slightly turned off by it, but in the long run she would realize that her and Shepard haven't been "together" in a very long time, and with no real relationship existing between them she would know that it wouldn't be fair to base any future relationship between them on this kind of knowledge.

Honestly I don't think Liara has any right to get involved in other people's relationships. So yes, I think she'd be crossing the line.
That said, she already crossed a moral line when she sent Shepard off to be resurrected and didn't seem to at any point consider contacting Shepard's grieving LI about it. That's always struck me as odd, Horizon didn't need to be such an unpleasant surprise you know Miss T'soni.

Also as a side note, after noticing the lack of conversation made in recent days on the VS DLC Support group, I made a new topic about tensions between the VS and the old crew in any future DLC  and so swing by and have a look, I hope that there is some conversation matter within, I myself have got to be going to bed. It's 1 am where I am right now. But before I go:

Well, what was she supposed to say? That she handed Shepard's body over to an organization that undermined everything the Alliance stood for on the off-chance that they might be able to bring him back?

I think in her mind, Liara chose the lesser of two evils.

I suppose that's fair. But still I argue that had Ashley known all the details prior to Horizon, things might have turned out differently. I suppose I understand why Liara decided to be silent about it.
But still, I think that's getting off topic.

Not at all, unless Shepard told Ashley themself, there's no way she'd find out because, as it was true in Liara's case, she's not an information broker. Shepardcould be fooling around behind her back and she could never find out. which is totally wrong. I also think Ashley would appreciate Liara (or in this case the Shadow Broker) telling her that Shepard's fooling around with someone on the side.

If she did, I think Ashley would be justified if it made her think Liara wants Shepard for herself, especially if that bit of information is the only contact there's been between them in two years, which we have no reason to believe it wouldn't be. No, this is not Liara's business.
