It's not as much "my" interpretation as the lovely work of FireEye which inspired the piece. She wrote a fantastic story in which a third option on Virmire is explored.

I don't consider Ashley to be *my* Ashley (even if I may have used the term in the past), and that's part of her charm. There's a line about not needing a knight in shining armor or a man to make her happy somewhere. I hold her friendship and love as a great privilege that should not be taken for granted.

I don't feel like I 'own' Ash...if I did, she wouldn't be Ash anymore.  What I like best about her is that she's not going to take a backseat in whatever relationship she has (with Shep, with anyone, even in friendship).  She's going to treat you like an equal and expect the same.  I feel like jealousy would be a real turn-off for her.

@Tele: My Shep would try to be a gracious loser in that scenario, but I don't think he'd want to see them all the time.  Might make him bitter.  Despite ME2's assertions to the contrary, Shep's not perfect.

Eh, I'm probably in the minority here, but I don't think Ash would mind Shep being jealous. Not stalker-crazy-I-own-you jealous, of course, but a little jealous. I could see her intentionally provoking him by flirting with Kaidan/whomever just to get a rise and then teasing him about it later.

We're in the same minority. whenever I play ME2 I end up forgetting how devious Ashley can be, but I can so see her doing that to poor Shepard.

Hmm, Ash and Kai, huh? Well, that one conversation with her sister kills it, and of course...Virmire didn't help...but it's an interesting could have been scenario. It's a more attractive pairing than her and Jacob, anyway (he's okay, but just...not interesting enough for Ashley).

Considering romances are always based around Shepard, it's hard for me to imagine what other pairs could work...I don't really see Ash with anyone else. Maybe Joker once or twice, and, uh...one time I saw an Ash/Wrex. I lol'd so hard.

As for Ashley being jealous...I don't know, I can't help think she wouldn't want to play games, not when there's work to be done. Not to say it wouldn't be amusing, though, so long as Shepard was in on it and they were both just teasing each other.

Kate said it better than I did.  Especially the bit about Ash not being one to play games.  Teasing is one thing, but intentionally messing with someone's emotions doesn't seem like her at all.  That said, jocular jealousy, I think Ash would be fine with, but possessive "Why do you spend so much time talking with Joker/Kaidan/Thane/Chakwas," jealousy would just irritate her IMO.

Goodness me, been a long time since I was last here. With the news of the "Arrival" DLC, I probably had the same thoughts many of you did, wondering if this was to be the DLC that finally gave us some Ash love. I am holding thumbs that it is, it would have been worth the wait. I can't help but wondering if it will feature Ash though, as the achievements that come with the DLC so far mention nothing. Every other major piece of DLC has offered more than 3 achievements I think, so I'm wondering. Still, Arrival is still a while away it seems, so I will keep hoping. My Shep is idle at the moment and there would be no better time to fix things up with Ash.

Ashley intentionally flirting with other people to make Shepard jealouse? Like Kate said, I just don't think Ashley's interested in playing mind games like that.

Well remember in one of the early Ash dialogues she tries to test to see if Shep is interested in Liara, remember she was talkin about Shep spending so much time with the blue alien and something about how liara is not a member of the crew so no rules against fraternization. The only reason she brought that up was to see how he would respond, if he said yes that's correct then she knew he wasn't interested, but if denied it then she still had a chance. She's not above being a little jealous or a little catty. Love it!
