EDIT: I have always known this but playing ME2 again I realized that I am quite a pig.  I can't for some reason seem to look at Miranda's eyes whenever she is on the screen.  I stare squarely at her breasts.

I find myself looking down when you get to see her from behind... :innocent:
It's the real mass effect.

Can't use the quote feature on my iPhone but I think you'll know what I'm referencing to when I say: Mass Erect.
Reed that's so funny re:leaving her post-Horizon email unread. I do the same thing! I never mark is as read so it always stays in the inbox, that way it always feels like I just got it.

Was just thinking about this about the ME2 ending. I wonder if the decision to destroy or capture the collector base will have an impact on your ability to get back with Ash. I theorize that since Ash is so loyal to the alliance and hates Cerberus, if you give Cerberus the base then that tells the world that you are allied with Cerberus. If you blow the base, you effectively cut ties with Cerberus which means maybe the alliance will have you back. I bet Ashley would have stronger feelings for you if you we reinstated back as an officer in the Alliance then if you were independent on good terms with Cerberus. Remember when she said being an Alliance soldier was "in her blood", if you got back in the alliance I can't think of a better way to set the stage to rekindle her want to be with you.
What do you all think?

I certainly hope not... as I'm a renegade player and I keep the base for it's technology to use against the reapers.

Nor do I really want to go back to being with the alliance... where were they while I was, you know, dead?

However, as I've said before, if the only way to get Ash back is to be an alliance goon... well then, that's what I'll do. Anything for Ash! ... er well, maybe not... anything. :P

Her romance was definitely the most like a long distance relationship, but as always, Ash is worth it.:innocent:

You know what's pretty sad, the closest I felt to Ashley in ME2 was when you talk to Yeoman Chambers after the Horizon mission, she asks if Ashley was special to you and if memory serves you can either reply not really or you can say "I miss her."  Telling Chambers that you miss Ashley and seeing Shep talk about her with love in his voice (if I recall) was about the only part of Ash-related ME2 that I liked.

If I also recall, you can talk to Joker right after the Horizon mission too and he mentions running into Ash.  If you select the top / paragon response, you'd think Shep would says something sweet about Ash but instead he says something like "The mission is too important".  If you select the bottom / renegade response, I can't remember but I think it's like Shep says he doesn't care.  Only the middle response actually conveys Shep's feelings for Ashley.  Seems like forever since I selected those, I'm sure I'll go through it again soon on my current playthrough.  Which the wife is now pretty unhappy about, I just finished the original Mass Effect (again) and now I'm starting up ANOTHER game (ME2, again), she is not happy.

EDIT: I have always known this but playing ME2 again I realized that I am quite a pig.  I can't for some reason seem to look at Miranda's eyes whenever she is on the screen.  I stare squarely at her breasts.

lmao! Posted Image  ^ I'm sure you're not the only one dubs.

as for the scene where you talk to Kelly about Ashley after Horizon... I completely agree.  It's the only time (if you choose the paragon response) that Shep shows real emotion for what happened with Ash.  It drives me nuts everytime i play ME2!  I feel like i just run through the majority of the game just so i can relive those few moments of Ash-time all over again.  *cracks open beer* Here's to hoping for some quality time with Ash in ME3...

.....annnnnd, you would be right! ;)

they're just sooo... out there. :P Which is exactly why I put either her loyalty armor or that new dlc armor on her...they aren't as distracting that way. lol

and yeah... about the responses...

I can never remember which one says which, especially in the joker conversation. So inevitably I end up choosing the wrong one... and then having to reload so that I don't mess up the only Ash content in ME2. lol

Also, I tend to leave the email marked as unread, even though I've read it.... trying to not have a final end to Ash in ME2 I suppose. lol

Oh wow. Here I was thinking I was the only one who did that

Man those are some beautiful renderings of a beautiful person.
Here's another thing wrong with the world. Everyone know Yvonne what's-her-name was the model for Miranda so pretty easy to go feast your eyes if you really like Miranda. However, I spent a little while searching and it's clear no one knows the name of the face model used for Ashley. In the case of Miranda the face and voice model were the same, but with Ashley everyone knows Kimberly Brooks did the voice but no one can find the face/body model. The best I found was someone said it was either a woman of Spanish or Russian decent. You can see half of her face in one of the "making of mass effect" vids, but no where does is she given credit.
Still would love to hear more people's thoughts on the impact of the collector base decision on the potential to get back with Ash in ME3.

Fair enough.  I actually talked about this a while back, so I'm pretty much just copy/pasting my post from earlier in the thread:

And since this entire scenario is entirely hypothetical, and I can have
whatever I want in it, I’d like some sort of post-suicide mission
conversation between Ash and Shepard in which they discuss their
relationship/its potential future.  Her feelings for Shepard aside, I
don’t think Ash will (or should) ever warm up to Cerberus.  She’s seen
too much of what they think is best for humanity to agree with their
methods.  So, if Shepard chooses to keep the Reaper/stay with Cerberus,
Ashley will probably opt not to keep Shepard.  At least as an LI.

I've kept the Collector base in two playthroughs for this exact reason.. I hate that if you keep the base you're automatically forced to remain on good terms with TIM.  I really wish there was an option to keep it, and tell TIM where to shove it.  I think in this case, Ash would understand why Shep kept the base because of the need to know what their up against, and Shep wouldn't be working with the enemy anymore.... Win/Win right? (Though i'm not too thrilled with the Alliance now either)  But noooo..... it seems destroying it is the only way to cut ties with Cerberus, which makes me wonder.... If you keep the base and stay with Cerberus, will the "consequences" of that be that you cut ties with Ash as well, for good but gain an advantage against the reapers in ME3?  And if you destroy it and leave Cerberus, do you end up throwing away a chance to gain a better understanding of the enemy, but get another chance with Ashley?  I just don't know.... It will be interesting to see how that plays out..

It's funny, even though my canon!Shep had been operating on a "What would Ash do," philosophy for a lot of ME2, he didn't stop to think what she'dve done with the Collector base. His gut reaction when TIM was like "Can we keep it?!" was "Are you serious? A dead Reaper ship turned your entire science team into husks and you want to keep this thing? NO." In retrospect, I think Ash would have approved of his reasoning, but I can also see her understanding the possible tactical advantage of keeping the stupid thing.
