The Arrival has begun... We're just one step closer to more Ash!

What a pic! I guess it's all fiction, in which case it's one of the most clever, funniest and skilled promotional images of a given game character which I've seen. A real gem. Credit to its creator. :)

Anyway, i just thought I should post a shot of my own. No comparison, of course. Just for fun...

Edit: PS, it looks better enlarged to full size.

Wow!  I just got finished reading your fanfic, and I am impressed!  The plot is thickening like an episode of Lost. (only better) I like that you made an original story with an actual plot to it that has complex characters that have personal motivations.  A new dimension has been added to Jack, and I appreciate that you have conveyed her as more than a one dimensional psycho and have included some hilarious banter between Ash and Shepard.  And don't be afraid to do more action because it was fluid and easy to understand for me when they had a standoff.    I'm really anticipating the next chapter.Posted Image

Hey thanks so much Dignam! I'm so glad you're enjoying it so far.

*The plot is thickening like an episode of Lost*

^ that made me lol for real, ha! I know exactly what you mean. It's actually getting a little hard to keep up, but i'm doing my best. :)

I'm actually really enjoying your fic as well. It reads like an old school crime novel and... I know I said this to you already, but whenever I read the narration, the voice in my head switches on to Marv from Sin City lol! It's very entertaining to say the least. Anyways, I haven't gotten around to reading your last two chapters, but I have the next few days off and can't wait to catch up! Well, thanks again Dignam.. And btw.. It's way more fun to call ya Dignam now that i'm reading your fic. ;)

I just got done enduring about a week of intense hatred from my wife because I would come home and do nothing but play Dragon Age Origins. I bought it to try and help make the time go by faster until ME3 comes out. Didnt get into it at first but kept at it and it got better to where i would skip sleeping Well if any of you have played it, I thought there were some parallels between Ashley and Morrigan - both very loveable characters you wanted to see the player end up with but the writers had different intentions. My reason for bringing this up is, they made a DLC (Witch Hunt) where while short, it was all about tracking her down and trying to be with her. I'd hope they'd do something like that for Ash if we get stiffed in ME3.

Rdubs you have made my day, as a fellow Ash fan I loved Morrigan too and also saw the parallels to which you refer. As for witch hunt (I agree about the short part) my grey warden is happily with Morrigan somewhere. Also hearing Morrigans voice in ME2 on a quarian was rather strange but made me want to play DAO again.

I don't really see any parallels between Ashley and Morrigan, except for they both have strong personalities. They diverge in almost every other way.

Ya, i'm not seeing the parallels either...   yes.. they definately both have strong personalities, but Ashley wants to and tries do the right thing whereas Morrigan (in my experience) could care less and actually seems kind of evil.. imo..

Both characters challenge you in the game though.  Just in different ways.

Other than the fact that they both ended up being my first choice for a love interest in my games, I don't really see many parallels either.

I guess I should clarify re: Ash and Morrigan.  They have very different moralities, this is true.  Saying there were parallels, I was speaking from a couple different aspects.  First, there was simply something alluring about them that I didn't feel towards Leliana (sp?) or Liara or any of the other women in the game, potential love interest or not.  Part of that allure had to do with Morrigan being a strong woman like Ash, as you all have mentioned.
But by parallels I was also referring to the effect they had on the player (maybe it's just me, but Lawp79 seems to be on the same wavelength too).  I found myself really getting into the romance, and like some scenes with Ash I would save game right before the dialogue and load it a bunch of times just to see the responses.  There was the one time when Morrigan realizes she loves you and tries to fight it - I must have reloaded that one 100 times due to the variety of paths.  The thing I really enjoyed about her was that there were subtle clues that beneath that tough exterior was a woman who was just scared of loving, and with the right approach you could plant the seeds of doubt that, over time, made her re-think her antipathy.
As you all have said, she is much different from Ash morality-wise, but I guess what I'm saying is I enjoyed that she was complicated, a bit of a challenge, but mostly underneath that tough exterior was a guarded woman trying to figure out her feelings for you.

I'm going to have to fourth this sentiment..... I don't see anything about them that is the same.... well, they both have dark hair.... :P

And also, I haven't played it, but from what I've heard.... Witch Hunt was way too short and Morrigan was barely in it. I'm gonna have to go with a big NO for having an Ash DLC like that. =/

EDIT: Oh... about the DLC... if we actually got one, I would accept no less than the quality and length that the liara fans got with LotSB. Anything shorter or less quality... and I'd rather them just save Ash for ME3 and give us a ton of important content. :)

After I replied to your earlier statement I realized I should've given it a bit more thought.  In any case I came to the conclusion that ^ this is probably what you meant and I agree.  Morrigan is a strong woman who makes you work, to get to know her and while she's totally different from Ash, there are some things that they share in common.  I replied as if you'd said Ashley and Morrigan are the same!!!  When this is far from what you wrote or what you meant.:pinched:  Just thought I'd let you know that I get it now!  Yay!  And I see what you mean.

Man I'm getting it from all sides here.  I guess what I meant to say was both Ash and Morrigan were very deep characters who drew you in, made you wanting more, looking forward to the next conversation and crossing your fingers with each dialogue choice that it would bring you closer to bringing them closer.

About Witch Hunt - yes it was kind of short, maybe an hour/hour and half?   About Morrigan "barely" being in it, I guess you could say that (she's only in it for the final scene).  But I was not as concerned with the length so much as the closure.  Personally I think Witch Hunt was very well done because the alternative was to have nothing.  I think about it like this, for her to be more than just in the final scene there would have to be a pretty significant plot that would have added her as a party member which would have been a major undertaking, requiring a LOT more developer time and expense which would have made the decision to go ahead with it less likely.  Given the choice between a shorter DLC that lets the Warden and Witch live happily ever after, versus nothing at all, give me the shorter one ten times over.

Unlike DA:O though, which was the only time we would see our Warden hero, the ME world offers the return of Shep in ME3 so an Ash DLC isn't a big issue as long as Bioware hooks us up with good Ash content and closure in the finale.  If they shaft us, we'll have to hope they do what they did with DA:O and pop out a short but sweet happy ending / closure DLC like Witch Hunt.  But to your point Reed if they put out a DLC with Ash, I certainly am hoping they give it the same time, attention and outstanding quality they gave LotSB.

-  Well, I mean, that could be said about a lot of characters in ME ... LI or not. I guess when I think of a character being similar to another, I think of their personality. It's no big deal. And after you explained it the second time, it actually made more sense. :)

- All I can say to this is that... I'd rather them take the time and spend the resources making the DLC come out later and cost more, rather than have Ashley only be in the final scene of DLC for closure. That would suck so bad IMO....

- Agreed... honestly, they've givin us Ash/Kaidan fans the shaft a lot over the time since ME2 came out.... and for them to give us a DLC that isn't up to par with the rest that they have released for this game would be rather ridiculous. Like I said, if they want to do something lame like that, I say forgot about it all together and just give that little extra content on top of whatever they have planned for ME3, in ME3. :)

You know, I really try not to get too exited for an Ash dlc, just in case there isn't one...
In another way, I am freaking exited for any new dlc to come out with Ash in it!
I somehow imagine Ash looking for Shepard, and I expect some serious action going on!
I mean, like the last 20 minutes of the Expendables movie action, as Ash is totally capable of doing everything in that movie!
I AM TALKING A SERIOUS KILLFEST PEOPLE!
........................
And a moment of raw emotion in the middle like the aforementioned film(the one with mickey rourke) would be a great service to us also.Posted Image
