What are you people talking about? ALL of Ash's smiles are great!!!

Of course! But some smiles I remember better than the others.

@ V-rex

I agree completely. Love scene is great, very subtle, romantic, passionate, but still full of humour. In my opinion that scene is much better than evening with e.g. Miranda in ME2. There's something special in the air, maybe it's deeper relationship. I love it.

maybe a deeper relationship?? I think it definitely is a deeper relationship... I mean, what do we really learn/share with Miranda? I mean, sure she knows all about Shepard from his files and rebuilding him... but they never have the bonding talks like Shepard and Ashley.... ex: having military parents and having the same boot camp instructor (if you go spacer) ... you learn about Ash's love for her family, her belief in some sort of god, how she hates politics, is suspicious of aliens, etc, etc....

when do you do all that with Miranda? I don't think you do... you learn about how she was made to be perfect and about her sister... that's about it. She was there for eye candy imo. Doesn't mean I didn't like her btw, she was a good character, I just don't think any of the squad in ME2 ... minus Garrus and Tali (since they were around in ME1) had much beyond their loyalty missions. They were all still pretty lovable in their own way, but none compare to Ashley.

I like to go spacer/ sole survivor so Ash and Shep have even more in common. :)

Yeah, but I was talking about love scene in particular - there's something heavy in the air, when she's reciting a poem. BioWare captured that special moment from real life, when people are going to kiss each other for the first time. It's like silence before the storm. You look at her eyes and mouth. Blood makes noise in your veins. Every second is like eternity. And then it starts, first thunder.
^_^

I mean, what do we really learn/share with Miranda?

Relationship with Miranda is flat like French pancakes and everything turns around her not so flat ass. Sorry, if you're offended, but this is how I see it. She's just ok.

Exactly. Shep and Ash have some common experiences in my game (spacer). She's distrustful towards aliens, but I understand her reasons. I played as a paragon, so I changed her opinion, just a little, but still.

Garrus and Tali (since they were around in ME1) had much beyond their loyalty missions.

Garrus is a character I probably like the most in ME2. In ME1 I like Kaidan the most (except Ash ofc;). Virmire decision was very hard, because Ash & Kaidan was my main squad. Kaidan is a good man and didn't deserve for such sacrifice. Shame he's KIA. :(

I have another one, this time in the scenario where an unfaithful Shepard is trying to get back together with Ashley.

Ashley: If breaking my heart is what it took for you to realize that I'm who you want, then you're not who I want.

No, I haven't played DA1 and I've heard bad opinions about DA2. I already pre-ordered digital version of The Witcher 2 on Gog.com. It will be released on May, 17th.

I'm really more of a sci-fi person than a fantasy person.

I'd like to see more sci-fi RPGs. Especially if they have awesome characters like Ash. Posted Image

I've got it and playing it while waiting on this ME2 DLC and ME3. I'm more of a Sci-Fi genre person and don't get into fantasy stuff. It's different, yet tolerable I guess. I'm just not a fan of that type of game so no offense to those who really enjoy it.

There really does need to be more Sci-Fi RPGs!!!!
I'd like to see an open universe type of space rpg .... like the fallout games... where you can go anywhere you want, do whatever... visit random space stations, random planets.... upgrade your ship and what not. :)

Play EVE-Online and you'll have all that... but not Ash.

But you'll also get around 45,000 bored players who'd only excitement will be to hangout in low-sec waiting for the next noob to pop out of the jump gate with a fat cargo and no back-up... it's a MMO...

Well, there are MMO's like Eve Online, probably one of the most ambitious in existence. There are also space combat simulations, which I love, like classic TIE Fighter, X-Wing and X-Wing Alliance (if you like Star Wars), Freespace 2 (if you're not SW fan). Good is also X series (e.g. X3: Terran Conflict) - mix of space combat and trading, Space Rangers 2 - multigenre space game (like shooter, strategy, RPG, trade). Star Wolves 1/2 RPG+strategy. Dark Star One - RPG+ strategy. Space Siege - action RPG. There are some pure strategies like Sins of the Solar Empire or Galactic Civilizations 1/2 published by Stardock. As you can see many of these titles are little known, but they're at least good. You can buy it on Steam, Impulse (Stardock games) and GOG.com (cheap games without any kind DRM, mostly old, but there are some newer too). Unfortunately Sci-fi in not as popular as it used to be in the past. I love Blade Runner, point'n'click non-linear adventure.

Anyway I hope it helped. Good huntin'

If you like space combat simulations, I prefer the Wing Commander and Privateer games over X-Wing or Freespace.  They run pretty well if you use DOSBox.

I enjoy the space combat sims myself, and have actually been saying that an X-Wing/Wing Commander or Privateer/Freelancer style game set in the Mass Effect universe would be really cool.

That said, I'd like more of a Mass Effect or Dragon Age style RPG set in a unique sci fi universe - person to person rather than ship to ship combat, exploring individual planets, etc.

Anyway... We should probably try to get back on topic. I know this has been discussed before, but, do you think Ash would spend any time video/computer playing games?  If so, what kind of games do you think she'd prefer?

I hope this one doesnt get locked due to the shift in conversation.

I have fallen for Ash since the first time I saw her destroy those two sentinels. By far the only LI for my shep and IF "The Arrival," Has some shenanigans where I might have to give up Ash/some doctor/civilians...well at least Ash will be safe back on the ship after its all over.

PS: Does anyone have any .wav / .mp3 clips of her talking....would really like using some of her quotes for my phone. I have some of harbingers quotes on my phone.

Well after the announcement of the Arrival DLC my percentage of seeing Ash in it dropped from 3% to .01% I just don't see her in this one. I still have hope for her being in it because Hackett is in it. I am crossing my fingers for her being the undercover operative.

And this thread needs more Ash:

Looking closely at the screen caps, the captured deep cover operative is blonde (assuming that's her). BUT, nothing stops Hacket to send the VS along on the rescue mission... and it's just the kind of surprise you'd keep fans in the dark about. You'll note that NONE of the screen caps display ANY squadmate. To me, this says "let's not spoil it for the fans"...

Back with some freetime on my hands. A lot of water has already run under this bridge...

Wow, I must thank you all for the kind reception you've given the pics I've posted here. A couple even featured in the OP now. Didn't expect or intend that privilege (don't know what this "pic for top of the page" I see being mentioned now and then is about, either). For me, it's just about sharing some fun I've had, in case some other people enjoy the images of those moments, too. And you have a nice way of showing that you do. Well then, whenever I think I've got something good enough, more of the same will come your way!

I'd like to know what kind of shots you think is OK to post here, though. I mean, pics with Ashley as the dominant or prominent figure in them are of course appropriate. But what about good pics where she plays "less significant a role" overall? Like this one...

firing away at the all electrical husk

And what about the tolerance for shots from new angles of situations shown before? If you're into photography, you know that a slight change in the composition can make or break the image. The following is from the same situation as shown before, but with a rather big change in the angle...

"Oooo, this one needs something different!" (both graceful and resourceful)

Here are a couple of shots from other situations, although in short succession from other moments on the same stage of activity as shown before...

What do you say?

@Telemachus - really like your shot of Ashley doing a salute. She really looks pretty in that one. ;)

I'm not counting on DLC, maybe because I am angry for EA's politics in my country. I hope she will return in ME3. She must...

Too hard and abstract for mass audience. :(

I think she's not a gamer. She is very active person, girl who loves sport, athlethics and maybe some martial arts. I think she would prefer dancing or reading than playing games. Video games that is. Because I know that she likes to play games. Bad girl.

To this day, that's still one of my favorite scenes from the first game. I love how quick Ash can be with some of her responses.

Agreed. Her straightforwardness is just disarming me. I would say even she's insolent. One of the reasons I like her so much.

I am still holding out the slightest of hope that she is in the DLC because Ash is worth it.

@Domar: It isn't mine. I forget who originally posted it but you would have to go back to the 1.0 version of the Ash support thread to find it.

It is in that scene with Admiral Mikalovich that you get the sense that she will always be an Alliance marine.
