BioWare, this snub is getting silly.

Although I agree it is looking grim.....I also read this:
"I only got to try out the first mission, but if you've played Mass Effect, this should feel incredibly familiar to you."

I don't know if that means anything, or if I am in total denial but we will see.

*shrug* Wasn't expecting her to be in the DLC, honestly. I actually prefer that - I'd rather she play a meaningful part in ME3 than tidy everything up in some DLC.

Then he/she should have said "I haven't played past the first mission so I don't know for sure" instead of jumping to: "I hope it means that Kaidan/Ashley's role in Mass Effect 3 is super awesome."

But then again this is IGN...

Besides Ash/Kaidan are too important for some silly DLC!

I thought there was a shred of hope once I read the part about how the DLC is unlocked after the mission on Horizon.  There has to be a reason for that right?  Right?!?!  Perhaps I too, am totally in denial.

@Raanz: I'm also hoping that the fact that you won't get to "rekindle your romance," doesn't mean that you won't get to at least see Ash/Kaidan and say hi.

@Silver: I agree, wrapping things up in a DLC wouldn't have fit, but I was hoping for (and in some respects am still hoping for) at least a little interaction.

Edit: @Milla: No, I'm clutching that straw as well.

I have to say that my interest in this DLC is slowly fading from really excited, to average...not just because of the VS thing, but since they leaked the achievements, to the handful of screenshots, to the announced price, to the absence of a marketing trailer, it all leads me to believe that it's just another tacked on dlc...nothing epic, nothing fantastic, just another piece of content to try and tide us over until ME3 release. Just blah.

I'll still buy it because I am a sucker for anything Mass Effect, but my hopes of it being something cool on the level of LotSB or revealing is gone. I mean, a solo mission? Even Kasumi wasn't a solo mission. Sounds like total weak sauce to me.
Time to leave for a while, grab my jack and coke, and go watch hockey.

Perhaps a better question to have asked would've been...

Will we see Ashley and/or Kaiden in this DLC at all?
I mean, just because the relationship won't be rekindled in it, doesn't mean they won't make some sort of appearance.

But, it sounds like it's a personal favor for Hackett. And if you read the IGN spoilers ... yeah, I hope Ash isn't involved in whatever the doctor's cooking up. I don't see how her presence would have fit in with the plot, so I'm glad it wasn't forced. If there's a way to do it well (see LotSB for Liara), I have faith that BioWare will do it, even if that means waiting until ME3.

@Milla: I agree, that would have been (from a VS fan's point of view) a much better question.

@Silver: I didn't read the spoilers, but I'll trust you on that point. I would rather see Ash/Kaidan handled well. Still, would it have been so hard (in terms of the story, since I have absolutely no understanding of how the RL logistics and finances of creating DLC are handled) to send Shep in with everyone's favorite Alliance Marine as backup?

Really, Bioware? This is your idea of "equality"? Why were Kaidan and Ashley love interests at all if they mean so very little?

If Ash gets snubbed while Liara gets all the limelight....face time in 2, DLC, and a ME3 partymember well I'll be peeved.

That's how it is with LotSB as well.  It unlocks after Horizon because on the Xbox, discs are switched.

I like to jest that Walters has a grudge against Ashley because she can shoot Wrex, and Kaidan is stuck with it due to the combined "VS" role.

Really, I think the latter is more realistic, though.  Walters has developmental control over the story, and he wants to write the characters and story he wants to write; these aren't his characters, he's probably not particularly interested in them, and he doesn't see why anyone else would be interested in them either when they could have his awesome new characters instead.

If you didn't listen to it, here is a brief summary:

1. He got started by writing for NWN mods
2. He loved the credits for Bard's Tale.
3. He is working on big big levels for ME3
4. They "listen" to fans about characters, from the forums and polls
5. We learned about his daily routine.

Sorry that is all I picked up, I fell asleep for bit.

No questions about Arrival was selected, nothing about the survivor (to keep my post on topic).
