Maybe I'm paranoid, but it almost felt like it was directed at characters like the VS.

I'm just a bit concerned about the way he answered the last question. I mean, what did he mean when he said "you know, you have to pick and choose which characters you want to bring back and decide if their plotlines are worth continuing" (paraphrased)?

I thought I had read at one point that the original writer for those characters is no longer on the team. Is that right? Anyone know?
If so, I can see them being put on the shelf for good.

Normally I am an optimist, but I think you may be right. It just seems like he/they are not that interested in those characters and have completely written them off. This next dlc was a very good opportunity to tie in the survivor as it appears to have a lot to do with the Alliance, but seeing how they might not have taken it, I have to assume that they have no intention to.
It's their story, they can do what they want, but I am a little disappointed.

Saying this here, because my fellow Kaidan fans usually frighten me away from their preciouscliquethread. . . . so, Ash/Kai will not be in Arrival, apparently. I've just assumed they would be. Liara 's romance continued in LotSB, so in my head, it made perfect sense to continue the VS romance.
Now, it seems 2/3 of my main LI's will not be carried out to see any sort of significant ME3 role.
this "some characters may not be worth continuing" crap from Mac Walters has me worried for the first time ever. And frankly, this snubbing of the VS future role is enough to make me wait until my bf is done playing the game before I try it.
And forget playing Arrival now.

I know! *is fuming* but weren't we told that the VS has not been forgotten about? There's got to be some way of confirming this...

They were someone else's creations. And now they are forgotten because the current batch of writers have their own favorite characters that they created.Melindil wrote...
Chris L'etoile is definitely gone and Lukas Kristjanson (who wrote Kaidan) is on the DA2 team. Add that to the fact that Drew's gone as well and it definitely puts a damper on my optimism. They can't be they only writers who cared about the characters though.

I see this all the time in Star Wars books. There's a good, strong character that's created by one author, but another doesn't quite know what to do with that character and so they get sidelined or killed off.
I love that pic. Its soooo true

We all know the mission, and what is at stake.
We have come to trust that Ash will be in ME3 - but I have also heard murmurs of discontent regarding where things might be going. I share your concerns.
We are trained to always be on-topic; we would be more vocal, but the old thread got locked.
Spam posting is not our way.
Think of our hero: the Gunnery Chief, who was the sole survivor of her unit on Eden Prime. Or the Operations Chief, who kept armies of angry fans at bay with a single emailed note.
These appearances do not seem to give us solace here, but they are not all that we hope for.
Before ME2, there were the old forums. We are not just an Ash support group, we are soldiers!
Our influence did nothing to help prevent her cameo, but before that we held the line!
Our influence has attracted trolls and new posters, but before that we held the line!
Our influence will (hopefully, fingers-crossed and all that) bring Ash back to ME3; in the battle today, and always WE WILL HOLD THE LINE!
