OMG....there's a part in arrival that says "this is Williams, I've got Shepard locked in the matinence area" there's a Merc guy named Williams and my Shepard saved Ash (femshep on the 360) =/

Edit: not to mention the female leader type mercs sould like Kim Brooks.

Hah!  Yeah I used to be very optimistic, that didn't help much.

Guys.. I think it's just a vision of the future if Shep dies.. In one part, it shows the citadel being attacked by the Reapers and you can clearly see Anderson there.. He's definitely not a squaddie nor did he die in ME1 or ME2. As to the significance of the shot with Ash, TIM, Miranda etc.... I don't really know what to say... Perhaps it's showing that Ash would join his squad to help take out the reapers (if it is a vision of the future).. As if to say she'd be helping finish the mission he couldn't complete himself.. Or... Maybe it's a vision of the future if Shep doesn't die.. It's a little hard to say because it also showed Kelly getting turned into reaper goo, which we all know already happened (if you didn't save her). So now i'm starting to think It's a collaboration of past... present.. and future. Either way.. I think we should try to remain hopeful for more Ash in ME3. Well... I'm going to anyway. For now.

Just finish The Arrival. Two things I got from it, I really f%#$ing hate Pyros, and Ashley getting a blink-and-you miss cameo really doesn't make me feel better about VS getting screwed over in the second game.

I believe Ashley will be a selectable squadmate in ME3. Mostly based on an errant post I read months ago which sounded like the person had insider knowledge. Remember there always is the chance that they are focused on giving us the biggest "delta" of emotions when ME3 comes out. It will be a bigger delta for us if we get shafted all the way to ME3 and then they hook us up compared to "cannibalizing" and giving us something early.

I think you give Bioware too much credit.

I don't think the remaining writers care much for the Virmire survivors.  I fully expect them to get the shaft again.

EDIT: Then again, who knows.  I've been pessimistic about this for some time, and today has me feeling particuarly pessimistic.  Perhaps I'll be wrong.  Hopefully I will be wrong.

I don want to be pessimistic but I agree. I am gonna hold my hope for ashleys for as long as I can or at least until ME3 but if I get half way and NO Ashley then again I'm breaking stuff.

all the haters are like "shut up they'll be in Me3" I highly doubt that now. Seeing as Mac Walters is still writing it and he only loves the characters he writes and the ones associated with them. I'm hoping I'm wrong but I won't expect much since she and Kaidan didn't get a continution and only yell at us in the game. Hell he might ahve them yell at us for not responding to the email so they think we left them hanging. or something stupid like that.

The whole, "the writers don't care for the VS" arguement is pretty baseless to me.
They already said that Horizon was so that the VS couldn't die, and remember just a few days ago Jesse replyed to Millia saying not to worry, the VS is definately not forgotten.
The VS didn' get a DLC sure, but we don't know what the writers actually have planned, putting them in a DLC may not work to those plans. Ash is still part of the alliance and none of ME2 is about working with them. Even Arrival is a favour, not an alliance request. Ash just wouldn't fit into it.
So there's no real reason to say the writers don't care except that you're miserable that there wasn't any Ash and feel the need to direct the anger and someone.

I said this to another person who wrote somehting similar to you. For the msot part it's not JUST the lack of romance specific dlc. It's the little things. Crappy email you only get when you roamnced either of them. Kasumi doesn't mention your past relationship with them after Horizon just Liara's. No file in the shadow Broker Data base when everyone and their grandmother has a file in the database. I don't care about Bailey,I care about Ash/Kai! And then I'm knocked out for 2 dayson an Alliance favor and I get no back up!(that is DLC pecific but still)

@Lee: The problem a lot of us have is that due to all the crap we've been shoveled by this new Mass Effect writing team, we simply do not trust Bioware anymore. All of our trust so far has proven to be sorely misplaced, misfiled, and used to finance fanservice for every other character besides the ones we love.

I also have to point out that Liara cant die in 1, and cant die in 2......so why does it matter that Ash/Kaiden cant die on Horizon?
