Nice, slomo. Wonder if the characters there are actually there for a reason or if they just pulled names out of a hat!

Not done it myself, but the youtube video of the vision said it was found if you crash into the relay while fighting your way to the comm tower.

You know what? I would like to see more pics of Ash-woman than Ash-soldier. I was always more into her non-combat side. Something like this:
Of course "shooting bad guys with my boomstick" is fun, but she's more intereting than that. I wish I could draw. I envy artists who can create such amazing pictures.

Which gives me my 6th idea on how they could have been included. Hackett sent the VS to rendevous with the Dr for an update and that's when Kenson and Williams/Alenko were arrested so you have to break the BOTH out of prison. Kenson turns on you both and you two have to fight through the project. Shepard or the VS warns the System about the project and give them a chance to evacuate before activating the project and destroying The relay. After the debrief, in which the VS advocates for the Commanders actions to Hackett, you have a reunion scene with the VS and continuation of the romance should there be one. As much money as bioware made off ME2 and the DLC and Comics they could afford to bring in both VA's and throw us VS fans a bone. I guarantee that would have made Arrival a much better DLC and worth the price of LoTSB instead of 560 points.

How much does it cost to get the voiceactor of ashley to do a line? Is it really that much which is why Bio didnt put her/him (Kaiden) in Arrival or are they just being idiots?
The quadforce of awesomeness!!...plus some other random person in the background. The King, The Queens and The Duke.Duke Garrus sounds awesome though.

That is a bishop but why is she a bishop? She only walks sideways?
Grunt is probably a rook since he runs straight forward plowing down enemies.

I like a lot of the points here, but I absolutely have always loathed the idea of Shep having to save Ash from some big bad wolf. She's a big girl, and she's tough - she can handle things on her own without Shepard having to save the day. I think your outline for how it could have worked is pretty sound, that aside - maybe if Hackett had asked Ash to contact Kenson for an update, the doctor got grabbed, and then Shepard rendezvoused with Ash to do the jailbreak.
I like that idea and it would make the stealth part even more difficult since it's two people getting in past Batarian patrols and we might get ash snapping smoe batarian necks too in cutscenes. But as for Shepard saving Ash, I'd expect her to be a tough prisoner "you call this torture, you pansy's couldn't get answers out of baby with these" and get all vengeful when we're busting out.SilverRose208 wrote...

It would've worked pretty well, I think, and I really adore that. Ash is awesome when she's miffed, and it could've made for some interesting dialogue when she finds him there and has to work with him to come up with a new idea.DWH1982 wrote...
Or, Hackett sends Ash in, loses contact with her (and maybe her team) and sends Shepard in figuring that she's lost.
Upon going in, however, Shepard finds that Ash is still alive and free, and was just laying low and waiting for an opportunity - and he actually initially screws up her own plans by being there.
I should note that I haven't played Arrival, so I don't know how this would have worked.

How about having Ashley leading a team trying to perform the same task as Shepard... only she was ordered by Anderson, while Shepard was told by Hackett? That why they could meet and wouldn't be expecting to see each other.... or have Ashley do something to where she saves Shepard for once?? I'm not a fan of the damosel in distress for Ashley either... she's more of the "knight" as someone else said previously, imo.
