Contains Arrival spoilers, proceed to your own risk if you didn't played it.

Nice, slomo. Wonder if the characters there are actually there for a reason or if they just pulled names out of a hat!

You know what? I would like to see more pics of Ash-woman than Ash-soldier. I was always more into her non-combat side. Something like this:

Posted Image

Of course "shooting bad guys with my boomstick" is fun, but she's more intereting than that. I wish I could draw. I envy artists who can create such amazing pictures.

Doesnt that vision only come up if you fail or something? I dont really know as I havent brought it yet.

Not done it myself, but the youtube video of the vision said it was found if you crash into the relay while fighting your way to the comm tower.

No, you see the vision if you let the 2-day countdown clock go to zero.

Ash wears glittery panties while she kills things?? crazy.

I agree though casual ash needs to be brought out more, warrior princess ash is good and all but we need more mellow ashley. I also agree I wish I could draw her to give back to the community.

From the "What's bioware's excuse for not including the VS in Arrival" Thread.

Which gives me my 6th idea on how they could have been included. Hackett sent the VS to rendevous with the Dr for an update and that's when Kenson and Williams/Alenko were arrested so you have to break the BOTH out of prison. Kenson turns on you both and you two have to fight through the project. Shepard or the VS warns the System about the project and give them a chance to evacuate before activating the project and destroying The relay. After the debrief, in which the VS advocates for the Commanders actions to Hackett, you have a reunion scene with the VS and continuation of the romance should there be one. As much money as bioware made off ME2 and the DLC and Comics they could afford to bring in both VA's and throw us VS fans a bone. I guarantee that would have made Arrival a much better DLC and worth the price of LoTSB instead of 560 points.

Much as I feel that the VS shouldn't have been shoehorned into Arrival because I feel that they wouldn't have been able to do either character justice, I feel that this is a pretty damn good idea.

I've mostly avoided that thread do to all the condenscending posters posting in it, but that sounds like a good idea. As much as it sucks that Ash didn't have a role in this game, ME3 will be out around November, so its not to long before we hopefully reunite with her. ^_^

How much does it cost to get the voiceactor of ashley to do a line? Is it really that much which is why Bio didnt put her/him (Kaiden) in Arrival or are they just being idiots?

The triforce of awesomeness!...plus some other random person in the background. The King, The Queen and The Duke. :D Duke Garrus sounds awesome though.

No character bashing! Plus Miranda is more of a queen if we're getting into Chess speak. Ashley's like a BishopPosted Image

That is a bishop but why is she a bishop? She only walks sideways?

Grunt is probably a rook since he runs straight forward plowing down enemies.:P

I'm still in the 'let's wait and she what ME3 holds for the VS before we tell Bioware what they should of shouldn't have done' camp.

Miranda isn't a clone as such, I think she was created from scratch using her fathers DNA and then genetically engineered to make her perfect. A clone would just be a copy. So not really sure what the word for her would be!

Yeah her story got kind of convoluted for me due to not really being interested in her story.

I thought she was the clone..must have been her sister Oriana.

PS: You said "let's wait and SHE," Someone has a crush ;)

Well aren't I stupid!

Oriana is the same as Miranda, she refers to her as sister because they were both created the same way. I think Oriana isn't as modified as Miranda as she was taken as a very young child.

no because she has all sorts of ranges due to her weapon proficiencies. she can jump from one end of the board to another lol.

Also RE: Miranda

Take that discussion to her thread, I love the woman, but this is Ashley's thread, so Keep it on topic people. Ash is worth it.Posted Image

I like a lot of the points here, but I absolutely have always loathed the idea of Shep having to save Ash from some big bad wolf.  She's a big girl, and she's tough - she can handle things on her own without Shepard having to save the day.  I think your outline for how it could have worked is pretty sound, that aside - maybe if Hackett had asked Ash to contact Kenson for an update, the doctor got grabbed, and then Shepard rendezvoused with Ash to do the jailbreak.

How about having Ashley leading a team trying to perform the same task as Shepard... only she was ordered by Anderson, while Shepard was told by Hackett? That why they could meet and wouldn't be expecting to see each other.... or have Ashley do something to where she saves Shepard for once?? I'm not a fan of the damosel in distress for Ashley either... she's more of the "knight" as someone else said previously, imo. :)

Or, Hackett sends Ash in, loses contact with her (and maybe her team) and sends Shepard in figuring that she's lost.

Upon going in, however, Shepard finds that Ash is still alive and free, and was just laying low and waiting for an opportunity - and he actually initially screws up her own plans by being there.

I should note that I haven't played Arrival, so I don't know how this would have worked.

I like that idea and it would make the stealth part even more difficult since it's two people getting in past Batarian patrols and we might get ash snapping smoe batarian necks too in cutscenes. But as for Shepard saving Ash, I'd expect her to be a tough prisoner "you call this torture, you pansy's couldn't get answers out of baby with these" and get all vengeful when we're busting out.Posted Image

It would've worked pretty well, I think, and I really adore that.  Ash is awesome when she's miffed, and it could've made for some interesting dialogue when she finds him there and has to work with him to come up with a new idea.

Although, it would probably add more fuel for the haters... lest someone actually deign to think or plan or have opinions outside of Shepard Posted Image

I like all of these ideas a lot..  Any of them could've worked.  If the VS was gonna be in it at all, (as I was playing it) I thought for sure it would be to save Shep once he gets knocked out by object Rho.  In this instance, let's say It's been 24 hours and Hackett's had no word from Shepard so he contacts Ash/Kai and sends them in with a team to find/extract Shep..  This would play into the whole Ash being the Knight (which I agree with) and it would've made sense, for the most part and even more so with the proper polishing.  Sorry if this idea has already been brought up.

It's the Bishop, you were right. ;)

All this chess speak, I always imagined it like this;

King: Shepard
Queen: Liara or Miranda
Rook: Jacob and Grunt
Knight: Garrus and Tali
Rook: Ashley/Kaidan and Thane
