Kasumi doesn't say anything about Ash.
But Kelly doesn't say anything about Liara.
Kasumi says one line about Liara and you are unable to reply.
Kelly, Tim and Joker all have conversations about Ash and you are able to pick yourresponses.

Equality? Seems the VS has it to me, ther Kasumi argument is baseless.

The only thing Ash has in disadvantage is the DLC, but now Liara is the shadow broker. Chances are she won't be a squaddie in ME3, just someone you talked to over radio or go visit.
It won't take much to solve the equality issues in ME3.

There's nothing to suggest Ash won't play a bigger part. It's just fear leading to pessimism.

Kasumi's a freaking gossip queen how can she NOT talk about Ash/Kai? Sure they ask but TIM's asking to be a dick and Joker was part of the original crew. Another advantage Liara had was you oculd go and talk to her whenever, still can. you can search the Galaxy for the VS and never find them.Posted Image

I can agree but not throwing ash/kaid a bone once the game is over is kind of a putdown..hell we even hear about hackett.

But to look outside of Ashley....IF Liara ISNT a squad mate in ME3 that would mean Liara as a LI for 3 would end would it not? I mean I doubt Liara wants everyone to know she is the Shadow Broker now and that Sheppard is her only weakness albeit a weakness that brought down an entire collector race.
IF and I pray we do get Asley back for 3 yet Liara isnt coming back I will feel bad while I hold ashleys hand :P

You can only search the terminus systems, and sol and the citidel. Ashleys not allowed to fly into the terminus in an alliance ship.
Kelly loves to talk about love and emotions, how can she NOT talk about Liara?

As I said before it all boils down to the LotSB DLC. But it is integral to the plot, if they had made that whole storyline canon and not made it playable, a lot of people would be asking why.

As for equality among all LI's, if they did a VS DLC, they'd have to do a Miranda, Thane, Jack etc DLC. They weren't in ME1 at all. You're only comparing the VS to Liara, perhaps Garrus and Tali (who weren't LI in ME1) and not thinking about the others.

You searching for reasons to be disappointed because you desperately want to see Ash back and it hasn't happened.
The developers have said she will be in ME3. The size of the role remains unknown but I will remain optimistic and be patient.

I seem to remember bumping into Ashley on a Terminus system colony so she can go out there.
you don't havea huge fight with Liara, in fact Shepard can share a kiss with her if they were together in the first game,a nd Shepard doesn't kill and tell. Kelly's not gonna say "so did you guys make out?" and Ashley comes up in the Mission report since the encounter happens on a ission, Liara's doesn't since she opens up missions. there's differences between the encounters since Liara's can happen more instead of being a one time deal like the VS. Also the ME2 Li's have their own game and have cuddle time, in ME1 once you kill saren there's nothing after the credits so they need DLC for continuation.

I don't have to "Search" for reasons to be disappointed when the game throws them in my face.Posted Image

Disagreed, you are really trying hard to find reasons.
Kelly's not gona ask "did you guys make out". Thats just trying hard to be miserable. Kelly could quite easily say "I heard you were reunited with Liara. You must be happy?"
Of course there are differences, they can't both be exactly the same.
Sure you argue with Ashley. It's not what you hoped. Welcome to life. Since when does everything you want to happen, happen at you whim? Ash was confused, upset, irrational.
And cuddle time? Liara doesn't get that, and ME2 weren't in ME1 at all. Ash was at least in ME2, so there's your equality balacnced again.
Seriously, stop trying so hard to be miserable. It's depressing.

Let's go down the list.

Liara: Present in her office on Illium and later on Shadow Broker ship--can be visited whenever.
Garrus: Squadmate. Present throughout entire game.
Tali: Squadmate. Present throughout entire game.
Wrex: Present on Tuchanka--can be visited whenever.
Joker: Present on Normandy--can be visited whenever.
Captain Anderson: Present in Human Embassy on Citadel--can be visited whenever.
Ashley/Kaidan: Seen in a cutscene and a 2.5 minute long conversation, then disappears into the Ether, never to be seen again in-game.

The record speaks for itself. It's not about DLC, or being a squadmate; it's about being present. The Virmire Survivor is the only one absent.

Liara: Present in her office on Illium and later on Shadow Broker ship--can be visited whenever.

She's an information broker. She works out of an office.

Garrus: Squadmate. Present throughout entire game.
Tali: Squadmate. Present throughout entire game.

They are on your mission, if they weren't present on the ship, I'd be very confusesd.

Wrex: Present on Tuchanka--can be visited whenever.

He's a politician, and doesn't plan on leaving Tuchanka since his people need him.

Joker: Present on Normandy--can be visited whenever.

He's the pilot...

Captain Anderson: Present in Human Embassy on Citadel--can be visited whenever.

He's a politian.

Dr Chakwas: Present on Normandy -- can be visited whenever.

She's the medic.

Where else would these people be? They aren't going to go far if the do move. And the conversation doesn't change there isn't much of a reason to revist them.

Ashley/Kaidan: Seen in a cutscene and a 2.5 minute long conversation,
then disappears into the Ether, never to be seen again in-game.

Ashley, as is said by many in here if not all, is a strong confident, independant women. Anderson has been sending her on classified missions. Yet you would prefer that she waits aroundf like the others, twiddling her thumbs waiting for Shep to arrive. Seriously guys, I;d have thought you have more respect for her character than that. We don't know where she is and that may link in with ME3. Maybe bioware has plans that don't fit in with the idea of letting you reconsile with Ash later in the game.
You want to see her bad? Replay ME1. The others you mentioned aren't worth revisiting anyway so they aren't much better off.

And whats with the whistle smiley?!

OK, so Imma throw my two cents in .....

I believe the reason a lot of people are annoyed/pissed/etc is b/c of the fact that Ashley/Kaidan can only be seen once in the game... and they have no control over that, not to mention, they really can't express their feelings in the proper way. (A reason that cause quite a few to flop LIs and made it seem like BioWare wanted you to cheat).

There are only two reasons, in my mind, as to why Ashley/Kaidan has been dismissed so much in the second act. Either... 1. They play a HUGE role in ME3 and saying anything about them or showing them off in any way would ruin the plot/surprise/etc of ME3... OR 2. They really are just trying to toss the VS aside by not showing them... making them less important, etc.

My inner pessimist wants me to think that it's the later, just based on things that have happened... and to keep me from being extremely disappointed if the unthinkable happens (no Ash/crappy cameo in ME3).... but we really don't have anything supporting either theory... we just don't know.
We all just miss Ash. Plain and simple. lol

I really, REALLY hope the optimists in here are right and that BioWare was just saving Ash for ME3.... for an EPIC role and return. Hell, if you guys continue to spread the hope... I may start believing it myself! .... NoooOOOOooOO!!! LOL
who started this topic?? It got a lot of responses.... must have been someone pretty smart...;)

I really hope the people who are saying she was just kept out to build emotional tension are right.

If she's not in ME3, it will really dampen my enthusiasm for the game. And when I do play it, I'm not sure my Shepard will move on to a new LI even then.

It would be nice if I could enjoy the romance part of the games, given that, you know, that's something Bioware is SUPPOSED to be known for.

Glad you liked it.
But this is supposed to take place months after the destruction and I just wanted to imply that she found a way to live without him. If she was still gravelling over Shep's grave she wouldn't be the Ash I know.

Edit: I wasn't trying to imply that she was romantic. Isn't she like 15? I feel dirty now. *runs to was hands MacBeth style*

To me thats reads as I believe she won't be in ME3, based on the evidence that we don't have.

Lucky for me though, Mass Effect is more than just about Ash... *runs away, occasionally and randomly ducking in case of flying knives*
