I stand corrected. My Shepard could not be renagade even if he wanted too, its just not him. I just thought that it would be sooooo hard to carry on, saving the universe without her watching his back. He really really LOVES her, and misses her. For him  to have to go through the "The days that are no more",  Let's hope BioWare gives her a BIG part to play in MM3. Then all will be good.

Great story by the way! I haven't finished it yet but WOW!

This.  My canon!Shep spent all of ME2 operating on a "what would Ash do" system, since he didn't have her there to ask her advice.  I think if it came down to an LI/huge number of lives choice, he'd let Ash die, because that's what she would tell him to do--not because of her Me1 blaze of gloy death wish complex.  She's a soldier, and she accepts that losing her own life might (and very probably could) be the cost of saving many other lives.  So poor canon!Shep would let Ash die, carry on and save the universe, and then retire and commit to a life of quiet mourning, punctuated by periods of being blackout drunk.

My cannon Shepard doesn't drink but casually. If Ash has to die, it would be best if Shepard and her could go down in a blaze of glory together. Fighting side by side against the reapers in the last battle of MM3. Then, no mourning! Except Tali, Liara, and Miranda who are all still in love with Shepard.

I have the entire series as well as the movies on DVD....sucks that I bought the whole seasons back then for 50 a piece and now they are 20 apice for 2 entire seasons...so dumb.

 OT: I dont know how your sheppards would handle not living with ashley!! My shep would go crazy and like I said before the era of Shepsith will make the galaxy a foul place to live in. Then again my shep would fight through hordes of enemies just to get to her if she was already dead.

Well, like I said earlier... my Shepard would do pretty much anything to save Ashley.... if she absolutely HAD to die and there was no way to prevent it.... my Shepard would probably go out in a galaxy saving "blaze of glory" as you say... I don't think he could go on without Ash.

And as a bit of background for this image; Ash got this outfit while she was on shoreleave with her family. Lynn helped Ash pick out the dress and heels. She was originally going to just go with her regulation dress blues, but her sisters would have none of it.

Beige couldn't agree with you more, if Ash was out of the picture my Shep would almost grow horns as he stops being mr. nice guy.  If there's no more hope of having Ash in his life romantically, well, it would be a lot like my playthrough of Witch Hunt (Dragon Age:Origins DLC).  My Warden fell hard for Morrigan like Shep did for Ash, and when Bioware released this DLC where you could go find her, he didn't give a f*ck about anyone or anything except cutting to the chase to find her.  Normally he would respond to something he came across as, "What's that little boy, you lost your puppy, let me stop my current mission and see if I can find him for you."  But trying to track her down, every response was basically something curt, short and a bit dick like "I don't care, what does this have to do with finding her." Same thing gonna happen in ME3, if Ash is gone, Shep will still save the galaxy or whatever but there are going to be a lot more unhappy people, unfound puppies and bodies then there otherwise would be.
