I completely agree with you Midnight! If they didn't romance Ash in ME1... they shouldn't get the HONOR of romancing her in ME3!

While I get that this opinion was being a little embellished here, I think the general sentiment is a little elitist.

I think that Ashley being available for independant romancing would be fine, as long as it didn't override the ME1 romance path.

It'd set a new spin on the "You were more than our commander" line on Horizon for non-Shepley Shepards.

I'm talking about the people who only want to romance Ash now b/c of her new looks. =/

ohhhh... Ashley is so hot now... I wish I wouldn't have cheated! pffft.

I'm sure there are people that will want to romance Ash now becuase of her new looks Sarge.. I agree that they shouldn't be able to do this.  If nothing else.. they should at least have to begin the romance from ME1 in order to be able to re-trigger it in ME3.. The events of ME1 are important to the storyline of their romance anyway which can't be replaced with a comic.

I believe the term AD used is "Shepard-sexual".

I believe that term is correct! She wasl already supposed to be bisexual anyhow but that Fox News bit freaked out the Mass Effect team so they buried it in unused files. especially if she realized how much she truly cared for Shepard when they died. It wouldn't be unreasonable for her to realize her feelings after the attack and during the 2 years of Shepard's death.

I have to object to this for a variety of reasons, most importantly for continuity's sake. Whatever "plans" might have been in place, they were not implemented. It doesn't matter why they weren't; they weren't and that's that, and we have a continuity to uphold. I object to Ashley being made bisexual on the same grounds Liara fans would object to her suddenly being romanceable by only male (or even female) Shepards. It would break continuity, and as far as I recall, as Ash fans one of our chief concerns is that the continuity of Ash's character is upheld by the new writers.

Who could possibly resist Shepard's protagonist charms?Posted Image

I honestly hope this was in jest. Ash has a perfectly functioning mind and will of her own. She doesn't need a knight in shining armor, as you recall.

The problem with your comparison is that you are adding options in one case and removing them in another.  Making Liara a hetero-only LI when she's been available to both sexes for both games would ****** off femShep fans who had been romancing her, because suddenly an option that had been there before was taken away.  Making Ash available to both sexes wouldn't affect the maleShep fans who had been romancing her in any way.  They would still have their romance available to them, and wouldn't 'see' her interest in females unless they created a different Shepard.

It's not a perfect comparison, but it is still a break in established continuity--what is otherwise known as a "retcon".

Would it really? The VS never stated that they were purely heterosexual. Don't think of it as retcon, think of it as character development.

But if you never see it, and it would never affect you, why would it be a retcon?

Please don't spoil the topic of Ashley with these stories of bisexuality, found everywhere on this forum and are really annoying. The discussions were the same barren, where everyone will keep the same view, endless debates ...

Fair enough. The subject has been hashed and rehashed plenty often around here. I'll drop it.

So... I heard something about NPCs romancing amongst themselves in DA2? Who do you think would be suitable for/with Ash if not Shepard?

I'll go ahead and leave the subject alone; it has come up more than a few times already, as Sylvianus noted.

Here is another Ash pic instead:

That's an...  interesting thought, allowing squaddies to romance each other.

In ME1 I can see Ash/Kaidan (makes the aftermath of Virmire that much more difficult).  Including ME2 squaddies, since I can't see Ash with an alien, that would leave Jacob, who I could see as being a viable LI for Ash, assuming only het partners.

Then again, even allowing for SS partners, I can't see Ash falling for any of the human females (Jack, Miranda, Kasumi)...

I can't see her and Kaidan together, though the opposites attract thing would make it plausible I suppose. I'd like to think of Joker having a largely ignored crush on her, what their shared brash attitude and crude sense of humour. Though she's definitely not the gentle type, might break him...

I must wonder why every conversation on the social network eventually turns into a bisexual debate. It's sooo tiresome. Anyways,

Also there's some more leaked screens of fighting some cerberus baddies. Looks like Ash was right all along.

THIS is what I have wanted to see ever since I met the Illusive Man and his cronies.  It would be entertaining for Ash's entrance to be something like the first five minutes of the Matrix, where Trinity takes on, like, four guys at once without a gun and gets away clean, leading her to a lonely Shepard staring in awe at the epicness that he just witnessed... or something awesome to that effect would make me freak.
Oh, no.  I might have to watch that tonight...Posted Image

I could see Ash and Jacob together to be honest. I think he would appreciate her humor and she would find his bad pick up lines amusingly endearing.

@Zeuss how would it break continutity when ther's already content of her and Femshep IN ME1 and 2. even if you don't romance her she could still have feelings for Shepard of either gender and not tell them. Hell I've had feelings for plenty of people and not told them, doesn't mean I'm a walking retcon. It would also fit her Character to finally adit them in the 3rd game because as she put it "I'm about a subtle as a boot to the face". Also yes the "who could resit Shepard' protagonist charms" was said in jest, she's not Tali afterall.

I could also see this, especially since they were both on Eden Prime during saren's attack. insta-bonding at it's finest. They might even have already been together?Posted Image

See I was at least hoping they would have met before in ME2.  There was a chance for - admittedly - some throwaway dialogue about it, but it might have been cool to think Ash and Jacob were acquainted on Eden Prime.  But no.  I took Jacob to Horizon and he and Ash apparently were complete strangers.  Not even a "so you were there.  Sucked right?"

I know! Garrus and Tali get the "not you too" line Jacob should at elat get a "Lieutenant Taylor, are you with Cerberus too?" but nope. Yet another missed opportunity.Posted Image

Maybe because of the VS thing? Them sharing the same role and all, Kaidan wouldn't know him at all. I hope that doesn't happen too much in ME3. Of course, they are going to have the same spot in some situations, like if they are LI or when the VS sacrifices themselves in the last mission. But I'm hoping for at least different loyalty missions or something to that effect.
