@Vojtass: No graphics, but the Mass Effect Wiki has the whole list.

@ADL: Well, that would work for Kallen's corner of the multiverse, certainly. I tI'm of the mind that she'd keep it simple:

I like Ashley's new look. Would I have preferred they kept her largely unchanged? Yes, because I've grown attached her just the way she is, and her conservative presentation positively beguiled me. But I'm flexible with regards to her looks, and she certainly looks as gorgeous (more, in fact) with her hair down as any of us predicted. I won't get up in arms over her visual redesign if she's kept true to her character.

*noms on Ashley's hair*

We did not play it yet, we aren't accustomed. We were locked in a single physical vision of Ashley, where the huge surprise. The beauty comes in the same time we discover her again in 8 months. She surely will bring more surprises and new things to learn.

What is desirable for a character we've already known and explored up and down.

I liked the old style, but all the same all the time, throughout the all trilogy ? No there is no loyalty, it is a blatant lack of creativity. And I do not speak from the perspective of the players of course, but the designers.

I think it's most likely that Ashley still has the same rank, but is occupying some special position. This was hinted at in ME2.

I agree. Like I wrote a little while ago her MVC (in her case S7) has to do with her proficiency, not rank. The letter notes the career path, the number the level of experience. The number 7 means that she is brilliant in whatever the letter S is supposed to do. I could not find out what that S stands for.

Actually, looking again, I'm pretty sure it's actually "S1". The flag at the top gives the 1 away; it's angled down, not across like the top bracket of a 7 is.

The only MVC letters for which we've seen any specific definitions are N and B. N, of course, stands for special forces, while B refers to standard infantry. Ashley's MVC in ME1 was B4. If an Alliance soldier switches career paths and gets a new MVC, which Ashley has apparently done, I wonder if their last obtained numeral level transfers over with them, or if they have to start back at 1. Basically I'm wondering if she went from B4 (or B5, even) to S4 (or S5), or from B4/5 to S1.

Speaking of which, where are you guys seeing that S1/7 at? I can't find it anywhere on Ash's outfit. Maybe I need a higher res scan, but the best one I've found so far is on the ME Wiki.

@Zeuss: I'm sure that would work in alot of "multiverses" Ash certainly has it in her to be sneaky and yet so thoughtful. Not saying it's you but it surprises me how people can sometimes underestimate Ashley, even on this thread.

No. It is clearly a seven. Zoom in a bit on the seven. It appears that the background of that area is not flat. If you look closely you'll see that the "flagpole" is curved. That means it has to be a seven.

Edit: I was about to post an image zoomed in on that area until I realized I could be banned for posting it. I am a fan, but there are limits to what I am willing to do. ;)

But, would the designers be so bold as to completely redesign Ashleys' look for the sake of creativity?
And if so, then what's to stop them from changing her character also to fit that redesigned look.
As I've said before, Why bring her back at all? They could give  us another "Horizon" and put a nail in it. Period.
No, in my opinion, they will give us an updated look in line with the vision of Ash created in ME1. Her character
as written is her greatest strength.

I think the whole controversy over her apperance is being overblown.

I can still tell it's her. It looks like she's had a makeover, or changed her appearance since we saw her on Horizon. But people do that sometimes. Sometimes they might do it after something happens that makes them feel like they need a change. Seeing the man you love come back from the dead, only to work for a terrorist group, might fall under that category.

The fact that she looks like she got implants bothers me a little, but, seriously... I'm 99.9% fine with her new look.

For the most part, I think once Ash graces the screen in ME3 and you all hear that voice.....you're gonna start purring like a fat kitten.  Unless she comes out looking like a plastic surgery nightmare and spouting Jack's dialogue, you're gonna do it.  Come on....admit it.  It's ok.  It's the first step in saying you are an Ash fan.  Posted Image

Ashley's new look for ME3 doesn't bother me not one bit, but i want that reward for staying loyal to her. I did everything just for her, severed my ties to Cerberus, destroyed the Collector base and so forth.

I agree that Ash's rank probably isn't that important, but her job is. She's kind of a special case - some sort of operative. I mean....why else would she wear a cat suit? That's what operatives do. XD

Operatives for the win.

Not to make my personal preferences and bias all the more obvious, but Ash makes this look GOOD.

Still, I did have a similar thought. Maybe her new look is relevant to the plot. I always saw her as a frontlines kind of girl, but when things get this big, I'm sure she can work some finesse.

For a bit, I thought her nose looked a little different. Now seeing high-res, it was just lighting. Everything is still in the right places. She's always had such awesome looking lips.

Man, when is my copy of GameInformer coming, I need something to help bids all this excitement...*sits by the mailbox*

I love Ashley. She and Kaiden are the most realistic love interests in the game. Every other characters it's like

Conversation 1: I like you
Conversation 2: I like you too
Conversation 3: Be with me

But with Ashley/Kaiden. They talk to Shepard like normal adults. Yes they flirt but the flirting is very subtle. They have real conversations like personal history, politics, opinions on the mission and so on. Thats why i like Ashley. She's got great things about her but she has faults too. But that's what makes her great. She's not presented as a Mary Sue like some LIs are.

I agree doggy.

Ashley in my opinion due to never romancing anyone else but have seen some of the girls romance subplot in ME2 seems more organic than the others.

I feel in love with Ashley when she was talking to her sister I think it was in ME1 and saying she had to go but her sis was calling Shep cute and how Ash tried to hide it. Then you have to understand noone else has really felt bad about being picked over someone else to live and not die.

Ashleys backstory is interesting as well....shes being blackballed due to prejudice that a Williams was the first person to surrender to an alien and then having other people call her a racist due to not understanding where those feelings are coming from in the first place.

Then again the Love Theme in 1 was by far the best soundtrack evers...the heartbeats made the decision the best in the worlds that now I'd give up colonies for her.

I hate to burst some bubbles, but all hte LI convo's are th same, the triggers were different, but they're the same. I tried ti out a couple times and Ash/Kaidan. and Laira's convo's were only triggered by complete feros, Noveria, Theurm and Virmire.I did a PT where i did Feros then a ton of side quests and only got one convo out of Ash and Kai (rebuffed by their busy dialogue) for the Me2 ones whowever there's is every other recruit/Loyalty Mission. More missions, more triggers.
Granted it's *easier* to have a long conversation since it's not "investigate" and "[insert next topic]" but they're the same. interest determines the convo length.

They aren't the same conversation... they have the same triggers but that is completely different. What others are saying is that Kaiden/Ash have the most realistic dialogue and characterization, they aren't just infatuated from the beginning with Shepard like a certain Quarian...

Or did I misunderstand what you said?

I don't see how they could not include him seeing as he was in charge right? It will be interesting to see how/by who he is portrayed, as I recall Ashley doesn't mention him much and the wiki only talked about his actions which make him seem like a good guy (He surrendered for the good of the Shanxi civilians). Only time will tell though.

Once again - that was her grandfather, not father.

I assumed he meant her grandfather hence the reason I said she didn't mention him much. She mentions her father a lot. Should have specified, my mistake.

Those of you who think that General Williams was a noble man who gave up glory for the good of his men might be mistaken, read Mass Effect : Evolution (or read the wiki page).

I wonder if poor Ashley will find out in ME3... good plot device, though?

Hey, I created that article! :D

Well, I started it, anyway. Looks like there's been a few changes since then. Is that image from Evolution? I haven't read it yet.

There was no new or damning information on general Williams in that comic. He did what he believed was best, considering that there was no pretty way out of that situation on Shanxi. The reason behind his public disgrace is still the same - he made humans look weak in front of aliens. And I doubt there is anything new for Ashley to know about him. The only person who could shed some new light on him is the Illusive Man, but I doubt he cares - it's all long gone history anyway.
