@ADL: Well, that would work for Kallen's corner of the multiverse, certainly. I tI'm of the mind that she'd keep it simple:

I like Ashley's new look. Would I have preferred they kept her largely unchanged? Yes, because I've grown attached her just the way she is, and her conservative presentation positively beguiled me. But I'm flexible with regards to her looks, and she certainly looks as gorgeous (more, in fact) with her hair down as any of us predicted. I won't get up in arms over her visual redesign if she's kept true to her character.

I agree. Like I wrote a little while ago her MVC (in her case S7) has to do with her proficiency, not rank. The letter notes the career path, the number the level of experience. The number 7 means that she is brilliant in whatever the letter S is supposed to do. I could not find out what that S stands for.Lord Zeuss wrote...
I think it's most likely that Ashley still has the same rank, but is occupying some special position. This was hinted at in ME2.
No. It is clearly a seven. Zoom in a bit on the seven. It appears that the background of that area is not flat. If you look closely you'll see that the "flagpole" is curved. That means it has to be a seven.Lord Zeuss wrote...
Actually, looking again, I'm pretty sure it's actually "S1". The flag at the top gives the 1 away; it's angled down, not across like the top bracket of a 7 is.AngryFrozenWater wrote...

We did not play it yet, we aren't accustomed. We were locked in a single physical vision of Ashley, where the huge surprise. The beauty comes in the same time we discover her again in 8 months. She surely will bring more surprises and new things to learn.
What is desirable for a character we've already known and explored up and down.
I liked the old style, but all the same all the time, throughout the all trilogy ? No there is no loyalty, it is a blatant lack of creativity. And I do not speak from the perspective of the players of course, but the designers.

I agree that Ash's rank probably isn't that important, but her job is. She's kind of a special case - some sort of operative. I mean....why else would she wear a cat suit? That's what operatives do. XD
Operatives for the win.

I love Ashley. She and Kaiden are the most realistic love interests in the game. Every other characters it's like
Conversation 1: I like you
Conversation 2: I like you too
Conversation 3: Be with me
But with Ashley/Kaiden. They talk to Shepard like normal adults. Yes they flirt but the flirting is very subtle. They have real conversations like personal history, politics, opinions on the mission and so on. Thats why i like Ashley. She's got great things about her but she has faults too. But that's what makes her great. She's not presented as a Mary Sue like some LIs are.
More likely her grandfather.grifter024 wrote...
I just realized something....there was a thread on the general talking about the movie being about the first contact....do you guys think we will see Ashleys papa.
I don't see how they could not include him seeing as he was in charge right? It will be interesting to see how/by who he is portrayed, as I recall Ashley doesn't mention him much and the wiki only talked about his actions which make him seem like a good guy (He surrendered for the good of the Shanxi civilians). Only time will tell though.grifter024 wrote...

Once again - that was her grandfather, not father.nickkcin11 wrote...

I assumed he meant her grandfather hence the reason I said she didn't mention him much. She mentions her father a lot. Should have specified, my mistake.Aramintai wrote...

There was no new or damning information on general Williams in that comic. He did what he believed was best, considering that there was no pretty way out of that situation on Shanxi. The reason behind his public disgrace is still the same - he made humans look weak in front of aliens. And I doubt there is anything new for Ashley to know about him. The only person who could shed some new light on him is the Illusive Man, but I doubt he cares - it's all long gone history anyway.Antivenger wrote...
Those of you who think that General Williams was a noble man who gave up glory for the good of his men might be mistaken, read Mass Effect : Evolution (or read the wiki page). I wonder if poor Ashley will find out in ME3... good plot device, though?
