I'd easily peg Ashley or Miranda as a spectre over Tela Vasir. She was lame, she didn't even qualify as a final boss.Lee337 wrote...

not even the fire team leaders on the Suicide Mission? They're leading team of highly lethal soldiers and getting them through the collector base alive. I'm sure if Ash/Kai was a squaddie they'd be a good fire team leader.DWH1982 wrote...
I just don't see any of Shepard's squaddies as Spectre material.
They're good, and some of them (like Ash) I could see as special forces material for their own militaries.
Spectres, however, are the best of the best - better than even "normal" special forces. I don't see anyone Shepard has gone into battle with as qualifying for that.
II don't see them as spectre material either, spectres are a lot more than just good soldiers. They are the best of the best, very rare people. And not even the fire team leaders, they have their skills but they don't have the complete package like Shepard does.

Eh? I thought her birthday was April 14th. Says so on the wiki anyway, I'm currently trying to write a one-shot fanfic for it, can anyone confirm this? Currently trying to write a fanfic, since drawing faces seems so bloody hard to me.
Yep, April 14th is correct...it's the same as mine. With that fiery temper of hers, you know she had to be an Aries.
Well, happy pre-birthday to you then amigo, and to Ash as well.
Thanx Raanz

So, after seeing the new Hi-Res scan.... am I the only one that thinks she doesn't look very much like the ME1 and ME2 Ash?? (not including her new hair-do, which I love btw.)

Looked the same to me. Only thing I personally thought looked different was her skin tone; looked a bit whiter, like her tan was lightened or something.

I hope that her special ability is the invincibility from ME1. Not sure if that was on all difficulties but on Normal it was awesome.
I was hoping for a return of the "overkill" ability as her special.
EDIT: To clarify my idea more, it would combine the overkill, assasin, and carnage abilities from ME1. Basically, whichever weapon Ash is using becomes super powerful for one shot (sniper rifle, shotgun) or for a short burst (assault rifle).

If I remember my ME1 correctly, Spectres were expected to operate alone, utilizing resources that were unavailable to most, and with a high degree of autonomy. Shepherd is that particular human in Mass Effect and that is why he is the protagonist character.
I'm not taking away from the accomplishments of Ash or any other character as soldiers or operatives. I just don't see that it would accomplish anything by making another human a Spectre. Especially given the politics in play no matter whether you are dealing with the original council or the replacement council. They are the ones who are going to approve Spectre status.
If anything, it would diminish the role of the protagonist who like it or not, is the hero of the show.

I think she looks the same in the face to be honest. Mostly I couldn't concentrate after looking at her lips though.

One thing that really stuck out to me was that her eyebrows were a lot lighter.. It could just be lighting though.. right?
I think the lighting is a little harsh. It washes out her delightul honey tanned skin and makes it look really light. Hopefully they keep her skin tone a little darker like it has been. I always thought that suited her.

Nihlus said that it was a long line of operations that they would be on to asess the evaluation of Shep becoming a spec.
Even IF Ash became a spec wouldnt that mean lots of time has gone by between 2 and 3? Or do you think Anderson would let her in just like that.

That's my line of thinking exactly. Yes, Sheps was cut short due to Nihilus' death and expedited because of Shep's discovery of information implicating Saren. Seems to me that Cerberus, the Shadow Broker, or Liara, at a minimum would have some level of awareness of another human being considered for promotion to Spectre by the end of ME2. This would have been big news on the Citadel similar to the way it was for Shepherd in ME1 with even more potential for political fallout.
Seems to me that Ash would have to be rushed through even faster than that to account for so little passage of time. Not to mention that Anderson or Udina would not be the sole individual responsible for making that decision on the council. If Shepherd's promotion is considered a human failure, I can't see the Turian Councilor going for it nor the Salarian. It would be out of character given they still don't see the Reaper threat as real. There would have to be some outstanding reason to justify it politically and practically.
At the end of the day, I'm just happy Ash is back!

Maybe at the end of the game they will do something similar to Fallout where they tell what happened to all the important people. For Ash they could have her become a SPECTRE post game no one's spotlight is taken and Ash finally restores her family name.
And has babies and lives happily ever after with sheps
with garrus being the constant companion..........unless garrus begins to have feelings for ashley then.......

There is a difference between her having a role in ME3 and her getting bacl together with Shep in ME3. Please Bioware, Chris, whatever is holy...stop this torment and bring these two lovers back together.
Otherwise i will just have to pretend Badpie's "Starboard Observations" is the canon, after i write you a nasty letter telling you how unhappy I am with you.

I've always had this theory that Ashley is the archetypical military/hillbilly babe, there to please the group of ethnocentric players who don't enjoy aliens (and other cultures in general). I don't have anything against conservatives (or Ashley for that matter), but it always struck me as odd how anybody can still like Ashley especially after that episode with Wrex. I mean, seriously, why would you wanna play a space opera RPG if you don't like aliens in the 1st place? Yet I understand Ashley has a substantial fanbase, and it'd be interesting for me to see where these ppl came from, I suspect she's more popular in America than anywhere else.
I'm purely saying this out of my cultural character - I live in Hong Kong, and our culture is fairly liberal/progressive for the most part. And my circle of RL friends who play ME all grew to dislike her because of that. It's difficult for us, having grown up dealing with Chinese/white/S Asians/SE Asians/Japanese ppl everyday, to comprehend outright racism (not that we're racist-free, but). And her character subsequently loses relevance to us.

I know I saw it, I have given up even responding to crap like that.
I find it even more amusing that alot of the folks here who constantly call Ash a racist are Tali fans who openly supports the genocide of the geth!
I am going to stop now before it turns into a rant lol.
