I dont know how you do it.. I love this damn book!
The entire game Kaiden didnt do anything for me he seemed so boring but in your book he is awesome haha. I want shep and ash to kiss already
Also you really flesh out parts of the game I never really thought about.....would have been funny if Wrex said something about the snow since I doubt he really sees that much snow.
So awesome now I am ready for Virmire and Ilos . I actually want to see how you portray Virmine to be honest. You've made me invest time in Kaiden that his death which is bad to say but I hope its him and how or what hes thinking before he dies and how you portray Ashley dealing with that.
As well as the first time Shep meets Saren in person...would be awesome if Saren had some non canon interactions with Ashley roughs her up and is the reason why Shep goes at him straight up which never made senes to me in the game.
Getting very very interesting and soon to be intense.

Everytime I see that "you want me to kiss a Turian, I'll do it" line, I want an option that says "I can arrange that!" like Han Solo from the Empire Strikes Back.

Hey 'Pie here's something to ponder...we know ME3 starts with Shep being reinstated into the Alliance before he's on trial. Since they won't likely have a flashback to cover events prior to the trial...and it's almost a certainty Ash would have found out he was being reinstated and would have sought him out...spark any desire for maybe a one-shot or more? Like most people i am addicted to your work and love seeing where you take the future as well.

Wonderful. I'm just in my part to Noveria in M1, curious to see how you got it translated into writing.Chapter 11 of Untitled Effect is up. Now it's time for me to go to bed! Good night!
Otherwise, someone who would be able to create a new banner with just Ashley on it ?

Honestly, I believe Horizon, was just bad writing by Bioware. And I agree that Kimberly Brooks did much with the little she was given in the script. As for the pause.... I cannot believe Ash would even entertain thoughts of suicide.
It's totally out of character. Her faith, her family, her desire to clear her family name in the Alliance. The fanfiction linked in this thread is better in my opinion then what we got at Horizon.... Hoping for better in ME3.
Yeah suicide isn't something Ash would entertain. Now, I can imagine Ash becoming emotionally withdrawn from the death of sheperd and almost getting herself killed in combat on many occasions.
However it seems she withdrew to her family and rooted herself into the alliance, upholding the family honour.
Will be interesting to see how bioware handle ash, especially if Sheperd continues to work for cerberus by giving them the reaper in ME2. I can see her coming to sheperd either way, but the hostility against cerberus will sour things if sheperd supports them.
Also curious if there will be any romances between squadmates, should they not be romanced by sheperd. Kaiden/Miranda or Jacob/Ash for example.

Love can completely overcome this, the loss of a loved one can totally upset someone so irrational and sometimes, the time of one hour, a day or a week.
Even the strongest person can have a moment of failure during the time of several minutes, while wandering in thoughts cynical, nostalgia, etc.. We can be happy in life, with his family, but have lost someone and feel the time of one minute something really terrible who make think it's not me, what's going on.
I do not think at all that's out of the character of Ashley. Yes she is strong, but it does prevent certain faults from time to time in the strength she possesses? I do not think so at all.
Morever Ashley was happiest woman after the battle of citadel, a month later, everything collapses. It plays heavily in the onset of a terrible emotion. A major upheaval in so little time.

Maybe I'm waxing too philosophical today. Must have been that bad guacomole.

Think a minute to go crazy, because of the loss of a loved one, is certainly not a weakness, and everyone, including people with the strongest of the world can be affected by this.
Yeah Howdy Sundown !! ^^
Something I find very interesting....each of us tend to take "ownership" (if you will) of the character(s) we like, in this case Ash. Given a little background information and gameplay, we develop our own ideas of who they are, how they will respond to given situations, what they meant by certain statements, etc. Sometimes those ideas meshalong with others and sometimes they do not. Reading such a diversity of views is great stuff Maybe I'm waxing too philosophical today. Must have been that bad guacomole.
Yeah I agree with you !

Going back to what Apathy said, I can absolutely see Ash being overly courageous and putting herself in harms way subconciously. She's done it before. Shepard had to reign her in a bit in ME1 when he asked why she was willing to fall on her sword just to get the credit she deserved.
I think it's something she doesn't even think about. She just does her job, but during her worst times I can see her not being as concerned with her own well being as she should. She wouldn't be reckless enough to endanger any of her other squadmates or anything, but you can bet she'd be the one volunteering for the dangerous jobs - either out of ambition or in this case, some serious emotional damage.
