How would you guys feel if Ash was relegated to a cameo appearance again or was just a squaddie for one mission like Liara and then you reconciled and she left? A lot of people in ME general discussion were saying this is what they think will happen to all the LI from previous games because there is a chance that they died. I certainly hope this doesn't happen to Ash let alone any of the LI. If it does...

If I'm not totally wrong the new Game Informer Issue confirmed that Ash will be a squadmember. So no simple cameo. We get our girl and her boomstick back

You're right I forgot about it. But what if she is temporary like just for the "Act 1" part. It is a very real possibility and I think it would help if we asked BW to not make the LI just temporary. A lot of people care strongly about the LI of choice and it is unfair to not be able to finsih the story arc with them at your side.

Hopefully BW is smart though. After seeing how the VS fans reacted to crappy Horizon cameos hopefully they will see if they make everyone temporary this forum will look like Bungie.net after people got fed up with AL. The mods here think the people are rowdy...

I really dont like the look of this. Looks like BiowEAr just want Ashley to be more "fappable" to pander to horny teens(like with Miranda). What I liked about Ashley in ME 1 was her character. She was totally normal, realistic character. Thats why many people didnt like her though. And thats why I fear that BiowEAr may change her. This...suit is OOC. Dont try to tell me that it is just Alliance uniform for trial... She is only soldier, she doesnt have any biotic abilitiess to protect her, so she needs heavy armor. I really hope she will wear armor in battle, otherwise, I will lost hope for some mature stuff in ME3.

I can't remember where, but there is some info out there that says just b/c Garrus, Liara, Ash/Kai have been confirmed as squadmates... there was a line that said, "playable to some extent" meaning that any and/or all of them may only be temoporary squadmates. And that would suck beyond belief!!!

I don't think they'd put so much work into her new appearance for a temporary role. The pessimists always find a way to stay pessimistic though.

It would ruin the rest of the game for me to be honest.

@Babli, you might want to take that scan down.  But i don't think the new suit out of character for her.  I'm hoping she'll have some combat armor though and that's just her "casual" wear, because you're right - she's a soldier - she needs armor.

Yeah I read that too which is why I think BW might do it. That wouldn't make me happy though.

No, no one would say that. BW wouldn't be pleasing ANY fans if they add a s**tload (is there a filter so I can stop doing that?) of new characters and make the old ones temporary or cameo appearances. Am I the only one that wants no new characters... yes you too Col. Sanders.

@Badpie that is exactly how I would feel. Sad and dissapointed like I was with Halo Reach's maps

And I hate to be the pessimist here and the redisign was a good indication that she will have a larger role in ME3. What larger means is yet to be seen.

Meh... looks like a promo pic. I don't think Ash would run around in that stuff on the battlefield. Probably just casual stuff.

They did it in ME2...

I think Ash is the type of character you need to have as a squaddie. With Kasumi she could be a temporary squad member in which you break into a highly guarded place, with Mordin he could be the scientist on the Normandy but not a squad member, with Wrex/Tali they could be big players in having there species ally with you. But what is Ash in the big scheme of things? She only works as a squaddie and hopefully they see that.

I think it's special forces. *coughSpectrecough* ndI ahve no problem with Bioware touching up ash's looks, the graphics do get better between games, and she's not the only one who gets changed so it looks like a broad upgrade.

 I'm worried that, aside from the romantic stuff, the VS won't get much interaction with Shepard. I couldn't romance Ash with my Femshep, but they're still really good friends. I loved that about the interactions with her in ME1. You could either form a romantic relationship, or an almost sisterly one. I hope the Shepards who didn't romance her don't get shafted for content.

I think you need to put a little more faith in BIoware 
I mean, sure they have put a little fan service here and there but it's not like they go out of their way to make the characters all bums and bosoms. Yeah, they made Miranda's clothes far too tight for comfort, and yeah... Jack is practically naked... and Tali is now a... romancable....

Bioware promised that those who are faithful to the ME1 LI would be rewarded. We now know that Ash will be in ME3 and be a squadmate. I believe she will have a major role in the game because the Alliance is having a major role.( A big trial to start the game, refitting the Normandy, etc.) Of course we will be debating this continually, and that's great. After not having Ash in ME2, I'm really looking forward to having her in ME3 in whatever capacity. A few weeks ago when The Arrival first came out there was alot of pessimism on this thread. With what we now know I choose to be optimistic. And considering there is only one scan of Ash out so far, I think her new look is great, and will hold judgement until we see more.

Yeah I won't judge until I see more of her but so far she looks fantastic. If there is one thing you can be certain of, BW knows how to create a great looking and sounding game. I remember them saying the rewarded thing but the question remains, to what degree are we being rewarded? At least there is something to talk about and be excited for now where as before there was nothing. I would say in the past few weeks this thread grew considerably. Hopefully this will show BW that Ash has a lot of diehard fans but it was hard to get a lot of pages when she wasn't really even in ME2.

eh, sure she looks hot, but she ALWAYS has.... I think her new armor IS OOC.... I'm not a fan of it, but sure... it's hot.

My main thing is... I hope they didn't tweak her personality as that is why we all fell in love with her... if that is changed to appease whiners, haters, and newbs... that will turn me off the whole game.

@Sarge: I'm with you on this one. Though I'm not thrilled with the new armor, it's not as bad as it could be. Some of the details seem more Ash, like the v-neck rather than a straight, low-cut top would be. That said, I love Ash because she's Ash. Bioware can dress her [almost] however they want and I won't care so long as she's the same Ash. But if they change her...
