True, but Saren was a Turian not Human like the VS. Remember the prejudice against Humans by the Council in ME1.

Well, considering each choice at the end makes a human centric council or a universe where aliens are extremely thankful of humans sacrificing there lives to save the Ascension, I think humanity would have an easier time gettting a SPECTRE. And like I said to people complaining about Ash and Kaiden as a SPECTRE, was Nihlus or Tela Vasir any better? Hell Nihlus got killed before he killed anyone!

Um, Yes........but that was the beginning of our story. I'm sure Nihlius was very deserving of his Spectre status, and Tela Vasir for that matter. My point was: humanity's influence on the council was limited. The Turian, Asari, and Salarians had more weight. I understand Humanity would have more influence after getting a seat on the council but considering how difficult it was for Shepard to become the first human Spectre, I question whether the VS would be considered if he/she hadn't been with Shepard when he saved the Citadel. Others in this thread have posted good arguments considering her qualifications and reasons why she would be considered. I agree with them. My concern is with Bioware. If they explain the reasons for the VS being a Spectre and it makes sense,considering everything written so far, them I'm good with it.

P.S. Does anyone think that with both Shepard and Ash being  Spectres', that the "live happier ever after" scenario for our two lovebirds seems remote at best? I mean....They are SPECTRES.......

Also, maybe Badpie or some other fanfiction writer on this thread could write a short story on the events concerning the VS becoming a Spectre, then maybe I could wrap my brain around it.

The funny thing about being an XO was that even though Miranda was the canon Second in Command in ME2, she didn't always feel like it. Especially given how many players thought of somebody else as one.

Miranda spent most of the trip complaining about one thing or other to even talk to me. First half of the trip she was nagging me to rescue her sister and the second half was complaining that I liked Jack better than her, so she didn't really seem like she had a lot of XO things to say.

I would have gone to Garrus but he was too busy obsession about one thing and one thing only. Then Jacob was the one who actually seemed to spent time on giving me advice about our mission so I decided he was the "real" XO.

If Ashley rejoins our crew or becomes XO I hope they don't make her too obsessed with Calibrations to talk.

I agree with Orion.

Miranda I never saw as the XO and actually didnt even know she was the canon XO.

Personally if I had my say I'd have made it garrus...he might not like it but I think he'd enjoy the position over time.

He was in c-sec so he knows all about paperwork and he joined Shep because he wanted to do something "Real." I think he would love to be in control from time to time...while Shep and Ash investigate a distress beacon in a room in a luxury sized hotel for a few days....

Shep: Well garrus I picked up a distress beacon at this hotel in room 336.
Garrus; what...why .would..
SHep: Me and ash should be able to take care of it....its a big hotel we might stay for a few days...laterB)

Miranda was always the XO, she's a task manager, capable of doing mulitple things at once. She's also the canon reason for all the new weapons and armors (read the emails TIM sends you) she knows everyone's ins and outs and how to maximize their talents (the reason she's one of the best fire team leaders for the SM) plus ahving to file a mission report for every time you have to leave the ship. I don't see anyone, including Ashley, having the patience to always have to do that. plus she's respected, not liked, but respected.

Oh, also....

Wow, she looks a lot better there, though her armor and hair look low textured. Is this from ME2?

And Miranda should be the XO, Ash is a hands on sort of person. A soldier through and through. How do you think Ash will get along with Miranda? I'm sure someone has mentioned that before but now that the VS is a SPECTRE and Cerberus is the enemy do you think that will change the outcome?

I agree.  Miranda makes for a good XO.  She's detail oriented and by the book.

Can you imagine the 24 hour news programs, equivalent to msnbc and fox news debating whether Ashley should be considered a Spectre or not. One side bringing up her military record and her helping save the Citadel, and the other bringing up her grandfathers surrender at Shanxi and all the prejudice involved. That would be interesting.

Also, could you imagine Ashleys' interview with Khalisah al-Jilani. What a PUNCH that would be!!!!

^^^ That is a really good drawing. I now have a better idea of what she will look like in ME3. Thanks to whoever made it.

Does anyone think that becoming a SPECTRE will change her at all? She can't really achieve any higher rank than that so I think she cleared her family name. And if there is a suicide mission type err for lack of a better word mission at the end, what would be her role?

Same! I'm anticipatig the dialogue "So, what have you been doing the past two years?" or "How long have you been a Spectre?" It'll send a tingle up my spine to hear her resulting lines!
