As for the Ash/Spectre convo, I wasn't a big fan of this idea at first.  It just didn't seem to fit.  However, one of my favorite things about Ashley is that she's a strong independent woman.. Being a Spectre will give her the power to make decisions she couldn't before so she can, "get the job done, no matter what" so to speak.  Being able to make those kinds of decisions may be what lands her back on the Normandy and fighting side by side with Shepard once again...  I don't see anything wrong with that.

Well, I know I'll never see it (maybe on You Tube). But I tend to believe she will take a mature attitude about it. As others have brought out, she is a strong independent woman, wiser, and mature. She always said she didn't need a Knight in shining armor, or a man to make her happy. Besides she's a Spectre now (we think). She will be hurt..... and feel  it. But she'll hide it and be all business I think . You might get some interesting dialogue options when she converses with Shepard, or goes out on a mission with the other woman.  Knowing Ash....... that might be fun to hear.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the reward Bioware promised for being faithful.

Judging from Liara, probably nothing, but you shouldn't be able to rekindle the relationship IMO. That type of thing would probably not make Ash extremely mad, but she would be slightly disgusted.

To add to my old post, I think she might make a snide remark about the character you cheated on her with "So you're into deranged bald chicks with tatoos aye?" or something along those lines... mine just happens to be a bad line of dialogue. But you get the point.

As for Ash, if you take a paragon route in dumping her (Paragon : Let her down gently, Renegade : laugh in her face. I will never do either.) I think it's possible she might involuntarily do her puppy dog eyes. 2:04, thanks badpie!

Well you can break off the relationships in ME2 at any point right? Even if you already had the "love scene".. I wonder if ME3 will even read the romance if you do. Has anyone checked if the pic of ash goes back up?

It doesn't.  Even if you romanced Liara, then romanced someone in ME2, then got back together with Liara during LotSB, her picture stays facedown.  Which, I guess is sort of true to life... the fact that you 'moved on' with someone doesn't just go away because you want it to.  (That said, if you break off a romance one conversation in, before the picture goes facedown, it doesn't count).

Directly on-topic:  Although part of me is thrilled that the VS is apparently getting the prestige bump of Spectrehood, don't you think that there are better candidates for the Spectres than the VS among Shepard's human squadmates?  Miranda would be my first pick, personally.  (And then Kasumi, but that's mostly because I'm imagining her strolling into a museum, casually dropping a small, priceless statue into her shoulder bag, and waltzing out, just waiting for security to stop her so she can be all "What?  I'm a Spectre.  I need this for galactic security.")

I really don't see Miranda as Spectre material. I mean... she worked for a terrorist group for most of her life. The Council didn't react well to Shepard working with Cerberus, so I doubt they'd react well at all to the idea of someone who was a long time Cerberus operative becoming a Spectre.

Kasumi has similar problems, given that she's also been a criminal most of her life. Even if the Council could look past that, most of her abilities, frankly, aren't even known or recorded.

If we're limited to Shepard's squadmates, the VS makes the most sense for Spectre status, because they're representatives of a Council race, and they've actually spent their careers with a legit military force, rather than a band of mercs or a terrorist group. I guess Samara, if she survived, could also be Spectre material, but I doubt many justicars go on to become Spectres.

That said, I don't think it makes sense to make any of Shepard's squadmates a Spectre. But, whatever...

honestly im really excited,i hope this specter status is real.imagin shepard escapes from earth to begin rallying all the races of the galaxay when EDI informs you that youve gotten a message....its from ash and she wants to meet you ASAP;coordinates are included inside.you set a course for the meeting you arrive at a space station on the fringes of council space,you dock and make your way to the room in the middle of the station,the doors slide open and you see ash (New look and all) and scattered across the room are various other council speacis.....its a specter meeting,all the survivning specteres have come togther to plan and stratigize on how to save the galaxy
