It's not. I thought so too yesterday, even altered her inflections in my memory to convince myself. But after restarting my Fem!Shep, it sounds more like she blurts it out in awe.jamesp81 wrote...

I would say "I can't tell the aliens from the animals," in a similar situation if that was my honest reaction.
I might even say it as a sarcastic, if not entirely accurate, remark to illustrate how unfamiliar the place is. JMO.
On another note, my Shep won't be taking her back in ME3. He didn't move on, the Reaper invasion just comes first on his list of priorities. Not to mention the heavy risk of dying, not gonna put her through that again. (Yes, role-playing here.) Thoughts?

Nothing to do with the current discussion, but i think it's pretty sad that they changed her appearance. They've totally mirandanized her. Not only that, but her hair is longer, and now brown. Her eyebrows are much lighter than the first two games too. It's like looking at a different person. I can understand changing the hair from a bun, but why change the colors and density of the eyebrows? Well there's my rant.

Her features haven't changed, just her hair ... As a woman, when I feel good about myself it shows in my appearance. So when I see the more "softer" version of Ash it tells me that she has become more confident in herself.
Or maybe when she saw Miranda with my Shepard on Horizon, she thought, "Hell no ****. Next time Skipper sees me he won't remember his own name." Women in real life change their looks all the time so I am not surprised that Ash would change her hair and/or color. Some women don't even know what their real hair color is.

Maybe thats in your playthrough lol..Lawson doesnt even see the light of day on Horizon Usually, my away team for that one is usually Garrus and Zheed. Yeah so unless she is jealous of a former turian crew member and a aging bad ass merc commando and scruffy looking turncoat man she tought she loved..yeah see how the logic can be torpedoed in a RPG lol

That is why I said "Or maybe when she saw Miranda with my Shepard on Horizon" ... I never presume on your Shepard.

Totally understand the conflict. I hadn't really thought of my Ash Shep in that way, that struggle is applied to my Liara Shep. She took the Shep's death hard and since she lives 1000+ years ... well my Shep may leave her in ME3.
As far as my Ash Shep, that may be hard if she walks in the room with her hair down and a smile on her face. Poor Shep has had to go without those lips for a whole "guddam" (as Zaeed would say) game! Ok, he saw her on Horizon but he refuses to accept that encounter - just focusing on the e-mail.
Speaking of e-mail ... why not a vid-mail? She could send her sister a vid-mail, but all you get is an e-mail? If she is on the Normandy with you as a squadmate, do you think your Shep will be able to keep it "professional"? My Ash Shep is an absolute sucker when it comes to her, that is the reason that he didn't come off well on Horizon. He kept looking at her lips and it turned his brains into mush. The idiot!

Since Liara lives for 1000+ years wouldnt she outlive him anyways? I never thought about that.....if Liara and Shep stay togethor she has to watch him grow old and die.....I would hate that.
Also a vidmail would have been awesome, would have been a much better way to show that Ashley still cares for Shep but has split feelings about the whole thing.
Agree though my shep goes all mooshy when hes around ash but felt like crap that she didnt want anything to do with him on Horizon even though the last time he saw her he was trying to save her and having Garrus try to rationalize the whole thing didnt make it anymore better. <_<
Would be nice if she said something about Horizon or the email though.

Who is to say Shep will grow old at a normal rate after being rebuilt in the Lazarus Project.
TIM may have wanted a long lasting savior of man, bang for the buck.
