I forgot how ME1 Ashley had such large, pretty eyes. It gives her an air of innocence, which constrasts nicely with her fiery personality.

Darn and I was hoping to avoid ME3 spoilage. I guess I should be cruising the forums though if that's what I want.
I think that development could be quite interesting. I've got to see how a lot of things play out!!!

I still dont like the idea of her being a Spectre for some reason.....probably because my shep wants to jump in and save her all the time.
Although if she does have her own ship/crew I hope she would rather stay on the Normandy and pray that she doesnt go Bastilla and get indoc'd just to hurt all the Ash fans.

You are right. But, I was responding to those that label her character in the general sense. Lacking in knowledge/experience in one area does not make one ignorant as a whole. Just as the fact she distrusts aliens to support humanity in a pinch does not mean she is totally rascist. For all I know she likes all of the human races. That makes her better than many living on this terrestrial ball. That was my point. Just not well written.
If we actually were visited by a race of sentient, space travelling aliens, I can see reactions of people in the following groups:
1) The Defensive: Invaders! Kill'em all! (Shoot first, ask questions later - if we survive)
2) The Reserved: I'll give them the benefit of the doubt but I'm not going to trust them foolishly. (Cautious)
3) The Welcoming: Welcome to earth! Make yourself at home! (These are usually the first to get eaten)
4) Chicken Littles: It's the end of the world! We're all dead! (These die of anxiety related heart attacks)
I've always looked at Ash as being in the 2nd group.

Claiming that Ash is generally ignorant seems like a big strech. When it comes to aliens, first encounter situations, etc. I would not be surprised if she was ignorant [in those specific areas].
As far as racist goes I doubt she meets the definition of either that or "bigot". Having a bias or being willing to prejudge ... one or more of these may be true.
In the end I suspect Bioware did not INTEND for Ash to sound bad so more than likely it will be made clear that she's in your category 2 and no more than that.

a few page behind there was "racist-animal-discussion", you know what i mean... i remember i read an interview with Chris E´Toile (?), he explained Ash statements. if someone could post the link again it could be helpfull. maybe we should force any single Ash-hater to read it three times a day...
