I subscribe to that mindset:whistle:

For the record, I wanted to use the 'Hey there, skipper' picture but I wasn't sure if that would be allowed. Plus for what it's worth, I think this picture is awesome.
Sexy, badass and tough.

Thatta girl Ash.

I love this thread I love the art and I love the fact it's reached 400 pages!!
I would like Ash to be on the cover of ME3 but doubt she will be for reasons already mentioned like she could be dead, it'd make other fans jealous etc.
My biggest fear is that she won't actually have a large enough role to warrent being on the cover.  I hope i'm wrong but I think to avoid the same disappointment I had wih her role in ME2 i'm going to assume that she's only going to have a relatively small part in ME3.

I'll still be disappointed of course but say the VS shows up at the start then promptly dies after the tutorial. If i'm fully expecting it (which I am after ME2) it'll be more of a "*sigh*, typical" kind of disappointment rather then a "Wait? WTF?!!!" kind Posted Image

White and pink so pretty ashley!

When Liara is in the white/pink it looks odd...she should have gotten her own outfit and not ashleys!

Liara looks odd in yellow also, I think. She looks better in darker colors.

Ash looks great in all colors!!! Someone posted a pic of her in black and green, it was sweet! But of course I'm just a little bias.Posted Image

Me thinks someone likes the green and black.^_^

I'm pretty sure that Kaidan and Liara could be the Posterboys and -girls for ME3. Just like on the new screen in the Gallery.

Agreed.

When asked about the delay, EA boss John Riccitiello said, "Essentially, step by step, [BioWare is] adjusting some of the gameplay mechanics and some of the features that you'll see at E3 that can put this into a genre equivalent of shooter-meets-RPG, and essentially address a far larger market opportunity than Mass Effect 1 did and Mass Effect 2 began to approach."

This is quoted from Justin McElroy  article on Joystiq.

Kaidan and Liara will probably be the poster children for ME3 because it fits Bioware's "One Guy, One Gal" tradition: Ashley & Garrus, Alistair & Morrigan, Miranda & Thane. So it makes since that Liara and Kaidan will be the main 2 featured since Liara and VS are the only Squadmates who are guaranteed to have a massive role.

Liara will probably be one of the poster children, but Kaiden definitely won't be. Remember that he may have died in ME1, making him absent for the rest of the season. I'm guessing that Liara and James will be on the cover.

Hello all.

I know it's been covered on this thread and elsewhere about how (relatively) realistic and engaging Ashley- and Kaidan- are as romances in ME1. I agree, and one thing I thought was especially indicative of this was the way Shepard could influence-without- totally changing Ash.

I thought it was cool when, on my last playthrough, I had Ashley and Garrus with me on the final mission. Ash was actually the one who advised saving the Ascension, while Garrus recommended holding back-though, that's not exactly OOC for Garrus, either. It just was a great moment, because it showed how her admiration and respect for Shepard got her to really do some thinking and objectively consider her beliefs. Yet, her core characteristics are still there, too.

Someone else put it perfectly in this or one of the other threads, by saying that Ashley isn't going to let herself be defined by Shepard, but she does admire, appreciate, and look up to him a great deal. And especially during/after the romance, this clearly has a huge effect on her.

So, yeah...my favorite character, and I'm pumped she's back.

What do you mean you AGREE!

They basically just said that they are dumbing down the game even furthur just so EA can squeeze out even more money.

I wish they would have waited tillt he end of the trilogy before EA ruined Mass Effect as a franchise.

Mass 1 ....Ashley as squad mate entire game= Best damn game I've ever played
Mass 2....No ashley as squad mate= it was ok
Mass 3....NO decisions that mean anything anymore and generic 3rd person shooter with horrible dead space like multiplayer probably and ashley still remain to be seen on what she ACTUALLY does= Good job EA.

um what? Mass effect 2 was Okay? Mass effect 2 was an incredible game despite Ashley not being in it for more than 1 cutscene. but let's not turn this into a which game was superior arguement despite what Ijst wrote as the response to one.

This isnt a which games is superior since both games did damn well.

The only reason Mass 2 gets so much praise is because Bio dumbed down the entire game just so EA could try to woo the COD kids.

When did RPG's have to try to bring in FPS players?

Mass 1 is an RPG with shooting
Mass 2 is a 3rd person shooter with talking cutscenes .
Mass 3 as they say is going to be dumbed down even more and its not RPG first Shooter second its the opposite.

Thats like COD trying to bring in Mass Effect 1 players by throwing in some garbage RPG element....it makes no sense but to ruin an IP and show that all you care about now is money and not the legacy of your game.

Also I just put in Ashley because we are all die hard Ash fans...not that it had any merit to the argument..

As more and more time goes by it seems Bio has lost the idea of what they were trying to do with Mass Effect and are now in it just to make a profit.

Mass 1 ....the beginning of a Legacy
Mass 2....rushed for what? Oh thats right EA
Mass 3.... "Well we are trying ot bring in more people to play the game and alienate the ORIGINAL fanbase.."

Might not even preorder anymore.

What did you guys think of my thread? Did it help any of you better understand the "opposition" as it were? Did any of you come away with a better sense of acceptance that, although you disagree with them, the "hate" against Ashley is so much the character but how she is presented?

Just looking for some feedback, the point of the thread wasn't to bash but to help you all understand.

Someone hasn't watched many videos for ME3. Casey Hudson says flat out that the ME series as a whole was meant to appeal to a wider Audience, starting with ME1.
