We didn't much about abilities in ME3, or? But she's a soldier, they can't change that. Perhaps she gets an extra when she becomes Spectre?
As long as she kicks ass, I'm fine with anything.

Why do people think its best to change her views on aliens.
Her views on aliens are an acquired taste. She will be more accepting of aliens the more experiece she has with them.
Ash is awesome the way she is. "Changing" her is not accepting Ash for who she is and I hope she dumps Shepard if Shepard keeps on trying to change her.
Ash's paragon romance= awkward
Ash's Renegade romance=HOT!

Those talks probably do make a difference in ME3. Just play how you guys want. I don't think either way is right or wrong. I actually like that shes not a alien huggerBornFree87 wrote...

Hmm,let me rephrase it then as might not have used the right words.
I'm not refering to her questioning whether the aliens should be allowed
around sensitive areas as thats logical to me but more in the sense of her "World view".
Her views on aliens/foreigners in general would be too pessimistic(my opinion)
and after going down the paragon route, she understands the reasons behind the council's decisions
without just chalking it up to each race protecting their own.

Hey all! Just dropping by to share something - rather, someone - I discovered last night. If any of you watched So You Think You Can Dance Season 7, this one girl, Rachel Girma? She reminded me a lot of Ash.
I couldn't find an actual photo but I did find a couple of videos. Can't see her face incredibly well, though.
What do you guys think? Yes? No? Just me?

Here's the thing. Knowing your job is important, and there is a big difference between the training a Marine receives and a Navy officer receives - before they become SpecOps, that is. Marines do not have "shipboard training" except where the bathroom (head) is and how to operate a watertight door. Therefore for a role as critical as second in command of a prototype reconnaissance starship, you can bet that Shepard was Navy. To say otherwise would be to say that Captain Anderson was Navy, and third in command (Pressly) was Navy, but second in command (Shepard) was Marines. That's not how a "real" military organization would staff things, especially for an experimental vessel.
I will try to ask someone at Bioware for clarification. Let's agree to table this discussion for benefit of the Ashley Williams community in the meantime until I hear back. A few minutes ago I had been convinced that Shepard must have indeed been a Marine based off the EASTORE advertisement link for ME3, but then I realized that in reality the marketing people who create the description are not the same people (the developers) who know the characters. There certainly are inconsistencies, for every example provided in the games of Shepard being referred to as a Marine I can provide one or more that refers to him as Navy. So let me see what I can find out from the horse's mouth.

Do you think that Ash will be less spiritual now that she knows about the Reapers or more spiritual. Just a random thought that wandered into my head, like everything else I do.

At the moment I think she is more focused on stopping Saren and the Geth (probably more so than any other squaddie, except MAYBE Garrus) than on her religious views. And there is no more dialogue after the mission and you only see her at Horizon where she is too mad for reason. Shepard died and a bunch of unlucky things followed. I could see her getting frustrated a little and start to doubt her faith. She is devout though so maybe she just shrugs it off and prays more. Who knows. One things for sure though, Shep and Ash have a lot of catching up to do in ME3.Jedi Master of Orion wrote...
She didn't seem to change much in ME 1 when she first learned about the Reapers or became aware of the the full extent of the Reapers actions.
