i keep wondering what will happen to the poor souls who cheated on Ash with a ME2 LI.....i am thinking it won't be very healty...but the story still needs a Shepard so how bad can it be ?
I am not talking about my SHep....he always loyal....

I have a cheater playthrough just for that reason, I think it will be similar to the triangle in me1 between Liara and Ash, I think Bioware will make the player choose between the 2 as I dont think they will want to ****** too many people off as they actively encouraged cheating imo. My main Shep is loyal though just incase

Lot of truth in that.

She gets blasted as "omg racist" because she points out that the aliens will look out for their own interests first and foremost.  It's not as if humanity won't do the same.  Of all the people on your crew, she seems to understand geopolitics better than anyone else.

It doesn't make sense when compared to the real world for there to only be one service for all roles, but that is established canon in the Mass Effect Universe. Instead of having the Army, Navy and Marines as seperate services, the Alliance has sort of combined all three into a single entity. Marines and shipboard personnel (a.k.a. Sailors) are all part of the same service in the Mass Effect universe. A Marine in the Mass Effect Universe is more of an occupational speciality than seperate branch of the Alliance military.

That being said, Shepard is a Marine. Besides being referred to as a Marine in all the marketing and interviews, he's also referred to as a Marine in the game.

I don't recall him ever being referred to as a Sailor.

As for why Shepard, as a Marine, would captain a ship...perhaps shipboard functions are part of the N7 training program? It wouldn't be too far fetched if the N7s also have their own frigates and smaller craft for use on some of their missions, though I can't imagine them using anything larger.

There is at least one place in ME1 where Shepard introduces himself as Alliance Navy.  I don't remember where exactly, haven't played ME1 in a little while.

I'd hope the same or more.  If less, I'd be disappointed.  That's one of the things I loved so much about her.

Hmm,let me rephrase it then as might not have used the right words.
I'm not refering to her questioning whether the aliens should be allowed
around sensitive areas as thats logical to me but more in the sense of her "World view".
Her views on aliens/foreigners in general would be too pessimistic(my opinion)
and after going down the paragon route,she understands the reasons behind the council's decisions
without just chalking it up to each race protecting their own.../../../../images/forum/emoticons/wizard.png

I concur on this, what i liked about Ashley was that she felt real. I dont mind her looking "prettier" but i pray they dont make her do a 360 on her personality.

Shep's a Spectre. I'd imagine she would try to use her authority to force Ash to join, but getting some resistance from her?

Whilst i agree with you i dont think it will happen.

I struggle on this one ...

My first playthrough Shepard fell 100% for Ashley and once he was raised from the dead couldn't wait to see her again.

And then the meeting on Horizon SUCKED! Poor dumb Shepard just stood there while Ash changed gears from "You are a God" to "Frack you liar!" (that is what my Shep heard through all her words). Their interaction was born out of frustration, confusion and anger .... 

Shepard loved her and felt like a Mako ran over him when he was back on the Normandy.

Yes, she sent an e-mail:
 
"I'm sorry for what I said back on Horizon. When I lost you two years ago, it tore me up. I prayed for you every day. I read a lot of Tennyson, thinking about you, just like I did when my dad passed. And then you came back, and it was like my prayers were answered.

But because he was so hurt & confused at the time, all he read were the lines in bold missing the true heart of the letter. Instead of saving the e-mail where he might have, in a cooler moment, really read all the words, the dummy deleted the e-mail and damaged the laptop in the process. IDIOT!!!!

As he tried to push her out of his mind & heart, Miranda was there supporting him. Over time, they bonded, starting with him seeing her softer side as they rescued Oriana and before he knew what had happened they were together. He did not actively search out a new love, or look for someone to bed ... He just thought that Ash was finished with him and did not think that there was a future. He honestly cares about Miranda, but he loves Ashley.

This Shepard will be in for a rough ride in ME3 ... He isn't a bad guy and he doesn't want to hurt Miranda. But he loves Ashley and if she allows him back ... well, I'm not sure what he'll do. He feels that Ash is the stronger of the two women and therefore may handle not being with him better that Miranda. I just think that both Shepard and Ashley will suffer in the end because he is such a good guy. Will Ash fight for Shepard back? I don't mean a cat fight ... but not just say "you are with Miranda ... I walk!" I would hate that!!!!!! I want her to pull my Shepard over to her and make him know that she loves him ... oh, and that he is a big IDIOT!
Poor schmuck - He is my second favorite Shepard and the one that I really can't wait to play in ME3.

lol that wouldn't fly. They agreed on no "I'm a Spectre" from Shepard, so that's out of the window.

I agree. It was so refreshing to see a character with spirituality in a video game. Not anything over the top, but just  a simple faith in a higher power. I admit I was shocked when I first discovered it.  As far as the Reapers existence effecting her beliefs, I think not. Her beliefs are part of her, tied to her closeness to her family and her confidence as a woman and as a soldier. Well, that is my opinion anyway.

The fight seemed real and very honest ... The things we can say when in a heated argument with a loved one.  

Really enjoyed (in a painful kind of way) so now I have to start at the beginning ...
