So what a few of you are saying is that, in the 2 years FemShepard (since it would only apply to her most likely) it would be unrealistic for ashley to have looked back on their time together and realize that she might have developed romantic feelings for Shepard and had them during or after Horizon would be bad for Ashely Williams, despite her acting the same way as she would towards a male Shepard? Is that a correct assumption?

Ashley responded negatively to a threesome with Liara during the male shep campaign so yes it wouldn't make sense for her to suddenly be interested in fem-shep. That's what we're saying.

That's what I got from the Twitter update. See what you make of it, it's in the General Discussion Forum.

Is there a place on the forum with a signature making walkthrough?

If you're looking for pre-made sigs, I'd suggest cruising the OPs of the various character/cause support threads. If you're looking to create a new one yourself, a program such as GIMP is of immeasurable help.

rejecting a threesome has nothing to do with not wanting females. Ashley is mistrustful of Liara and Ashley wants to be taken seriously in a relationship, and thhreesome means she'd be sharing shepard and would be shared WITH Liara. I know gay and bi people who wouldn't be down with a threesome. I can't blame Ash for not wanting one or peg her as straight for that.Posted Image

I like this song and Billy Talent in general.

As I was listening to it, it also reminded me of Shep and Ashley's relationship.....*shrug*

Casey Hudson said that they weren't necessarily making all previous squadmembers bi. He also said that there would be new LIs that were. This is after he said no new LIs so I doubt anything is set in stone.

Ash's favorite ice cream... I want to say Rainbow Sherbet. It's my favorite and hell if it's good enough for me, it's good enough for her.

Question: what song reminds you guys of Ash and Shep's relationship?

In general? After Horizon? Before Ilos? Anytime during ME2 or ME1? Even if they're just thinking about each other?

I think the hillbillies banner is clever, given its context. However I also feel like it just adds more fuel to the ignorance of the haters.

In response to the song question:

Vigil, just because I love that song. In general... hmm I say Yesterday by the Beatles.

1. I love the Beatles.
2. It reminds me about how I feel about ME1, "I long for Yesterday" and "Love was such an easy game to play". In ME2 Ash/Shep are having relationship problems so to speak. "Why'd she have to go I don't know she wouldn't say". She does say but that isn't the point, she left. And "I said something wrong now I long for yesterday." Shep couldn't have said anything worse on Horizon IMO.

Link for all of those who haven't heard the most covered song in music (shame on you)    www.youtube.com/watchPosted Image

Stellar by Incubus. She was stuck groundside for her career pre ME1 so "Meet me in outer space" just symobolizes her upgrade when she gets assigned to the normandy. and the back half of the song is great for the love scene.Posted Image

Cool!

For me. "Rusted from the Rain," kind of occurs after Horizon, and Shepard's really angry and kind of blaming her, and it's when he realizes he's tired of all the Cerberus crap and BS that's occurred. Things fall apart, then he gets more optimistic at the end.

And then why does 'acting on it' have to mean 'jumping your bones'? There's more kinds of love than just what you can get into bed.

 To be honest I thought that was the problem. That's why I addressed it.

Yes, I guess I am saying that.  Why?  Because after reading so so many posts of players wanting this option or that option, I will KNOW as well as anyone else that has played this series of games, that the original characters were never bisexual, let alone homosexual and that their sudden swing in orientation would be a complete diversion from their originally intended paths. (yes I am aware of ME1 and what was thought might have been with Kaidan and Ashley, but was removed before release)

Like I mentioned earlier (sorry it takes me a while to respond), I have no problem with adding a new LI, or even a couple...hell they could be established NPC's that have never been a LI before, in order to give folks who prefer SS relationships a different option.  Re-writing an established squadie or LI is not the right way to do what they are trying to achieve and only cheapens and diminishes the story that has come before.

I would have liked to romanced Chakwas but I couldn't...and if they added that in ME3, that would totally out of character from the Dr. that I had on my crew for the last two games.  (The previous statement is actually not true, I wouldn't and never wanted to romance Chakwas, I am just trying to make a point. ;) )

As far as ice cream, I am thinking Rocky Road.

I don't think either VS would become same sex options, Raanz has a point that both of them has more less been established in ME1. If they were always bisexual, they would have done it with already, unless they say that Ashley became Bi after she met Shepard, which is even harder to accept. There are plenty of other characters like Tali and Garrus on the other hand whose sexuallity is still ambigious enough to make that leap, and since they are already alien anyway, its hard to imagine how gender would come in the way when specie didn't, but thats a discussion for other threads.

As cool as it would be to have FemShep and Ashley together, I just don't see it happening. I really can't imagine how they can write this in w/o the ME1 fans scratching their heads.

I can see your point Raanz, but people change. Shepard is gone for 2 years. 2 years is a long time and alot of things can happen in that time span. I've known people who's seuxalities are different than they were 2 years ago so it's not like something that's been an established fact can't change. This applies to more than just sexualites. Favrotie foods, favorite movies, sports teams, colors, people, beliefs, cars, you name it, it can change. Who are we to judge if Ashley's awesome because she fllsin love with her former commander despite both of them being women. If that's how it is in femshep play through's that's how it is. My friend Rynluna made a status "I've been with plenty of guys in my time, but the fact that I'm gay now must mean my character has been destroyed" Ashley being romanceable to female shepard doesn't change her devotion to the alliance, her love and backstory with her family, her love of poetry, or the fact that she's a hell of a soldier and her becoming a Spectre. Love is the one thing that can never be "established" since it can change people and turn them into mutineers on a stolen warship.Posted Image Again it's not like Ashley will up and leave Malesheps because she's only into women (god my Male sheps would be devisated and the reapers would win) jsut means that femsheps would be able to know the glory of the Ashmance.Posted Image

I don't want derail the thread completely but I actually think 2 years is actually not that long of a time, certainly not long enough to see that sort of changes like you are describing. Plus Ash thought Shepard was dead for most of that 2 years, so its even more inplausible: not only does she develope attraction for another woman, she developes attraction for a dead woman. I understand that people think Ash for femshepard would awsome (which it is), but that boat has sailed long ago with the cut content from ME1, retconning it now is just superflous.

:P

You know, I've always been a fan of Ashley and found her attractive as well but I didn't really have a huge crush on her like I do now.  I guess I didn't want to disappoint myself into pining after a character my FemShep could never have.  The disappointment could still happen but the chances of her being open to romance with FemShep are higher as well.

I'm still not getting the whole Ash is an established straight character deal.  Having past relationships with men still doesn't make her 100% straight and she doesn't even mention these in my FemShep playthroughs anyway.  Also, she may be incredibly into a random person's MaleShep but since that happens in another person's game and not mine, all I know is what happens in my playthrough.

Or given the possible option of having a romance with a new character, people flock to it like birds to bread crumbs on the street.

Oh joy. I come to the Ashley page looking for something different and the Wider options page is in here as well.
I might need to take a break from the forums until all this blows over.

My take is that it would happenin retrospect, "you don't know what you've got til it's gone" she could have realized "Damn...I think I had feelings for Shepard before she died" She goes on with her life doing whatever bioware's gonna say she was doing *coughbecoming a spectrecough* and then after Horizon she knows she had feeligns for sHepard and there she is. Now all she has to do is confess thsoe feelings to shepard and see if they are reciprocated. If they are there will be much rejoicing and cuteness abound.Posted ImagePosted Image
