I actually have a femShep that would like to have something with Ashley (started in ME). I think it would be better for her not to realize it because if it's there I'll go for it. Even knowing I could mod my game and put the love interest in I won't allow myself to do it. That tension, I feel, needs to be there and needs to be one-sided.

I've never understood that either.
Ash has always "looked like a woman." I thought she was more attractive than Liara.
The problem is that she dressed realistically for a maine in ME1. Gamers seem to want their female characters to look like Laura Croft.
As long as Ash is back, I'm happy. I might have preferred her to keep her practical dress and hair style, but I think she looks fine, and it doesn't bother me because people do change how they look now and then. If anything about it does make me happy, though, it's that some people will "regret" not romancing Ash, or even better, regret cheating on her.

Let them become green with envy. I always liked Ash better than Miranda (who I almost called Rimanda for some strange ass reason...) appearence wise because Miri is unnaturally pale and has a odd jaw. ME needs to do a better job with jaws, they always look too "manly" aka fake as hell. I hope they make the hair look a LOT better for ME3 so that all the characters will look infinitely better including Ash, Miri, and Shep. And I do like Miri, just not as much as Ash. Says so right in my sig.

Miranda's face is a scan of Yvonne Strahovski the actor who plays sarah Waler on Chuck. nothing bioware can do about it outside of giving her plastic surgery and rescanning her face. I've seen Yvonne before and there is a significant difference. IDK, maybe it's just the odd hair texturing that makes her jaw accented like it is.
Yep, I even just checked right now and there was a difference. The jaws in ME are all poorly done and that is why it is so hard to recreate a celebrity in the Ch. Creator. That and the hair.

well i personally want both Ashley and Miranda in ME3 as permanent squadmates...need a second in command and Ash is my LI for my main SHep
And i don't have a Shep who has cheated on their ME1 LI..as i find it rather stupid to do so...and unethical(Shepard needs his body intact in ME3)

PC Gamer said that if you had an LI in ME1, s/he would definitively be a squadmate. But what if you didn't romance Ashley, was she confirmed to be a squadmate regardless?

Ash is a permanent squadmate, same as Kaidan. If she's alive shems on the Squad and she's a Spectre. She's on the same level as Shepard and the first spectre we won't have to kill in Mass Effect XD

She is black balled her entire military career and then all of a sudden 2+ yrs erases that and she becomes higher than almost everyone??
Saren was called a traitor but the Council either alien or human are trying to squash rumors of the Reapers and she didnt do anything on Horizon....so why is she considered Spec material....for that matter shouldnt your other squadmate at the Saren confrontation be up for commendation as well?
Wrex/Garrus Spectre ?
I also dont like the fact that since she is the same rank per se I cant save her without her getting frustrated.
Shep sees a crack on the floor..walks by it
Shep grabs Ashley as she passes it
Shep: You almost fell I saved you!

Shep sees another pot hole does same thing
