Because Ashley and Kaidan happen to be human characters who aren't Shepard. That's what it boils down to, only Shepard is allowed to be a special human, and Ash and Kaidan couldn't have possibly done anything impressive during the two years Shep was dead.

Where are you going with this? I cant tell if your being sarcastic or actually beleive what you just wrote.

In any case you have the optinion of apointing a HUMANS as council members and that would be by far a BIGGER accomplisment than being a Spectre where your hidden from almost all public knowledge.

I love Ashley but there is nothing in the 2 yrs + that Shep was gone that makes it seem she got promoted besides out of the blue.

She is on Horizon doing what...nothing she is snooping around waiting to see if the place gets taken hostage by Cerb. She has NO backup or else they would have been there instantly when the Collectors showed up so all she was there was to collect info...

Yeah thats a pretty good job for a Spectre.

Offtopic: I don't know what to do in ME1. I'm playing on Hardcore difficulty and it's as its name suggests, hard. I'm not sure if I want to keep doing the sidequests all of which have been difficult for me so far or Feros. Any easy sidequests you guys remember?

depends on the level you're doing. I didn't do hardcore til I ahd a shep at lvl 59 and he took his tank Ashley everywhere.

matured (the only ones that don't really seem to get better to me is
Wrex and Kaiden since one is extremely experienced and one is a high
rank as it is). Ash, Tali, Garrus, and Liara all go from being pretty
powerful with untapped potential to being in the top 10 most dangerous
combatants in the ME universe. Tali isn't what I would call a very
strong offensive squaddie yet she makes TIM's dossier list. Liara is
crazy powerful in LOTSB. Imagine Ash in ME3!

Only question is what will her two weapons be. Assault rifle and _________. Maybe Shotgun?

My thoughts are that Garrus had already matured by ME1. In ME2 he just lost his soul and spirit. To your question, I'd prefer it if she were armed with a cannon

We're at the level where our jeeps can shoot exploding slugs and carry tanks. The Reapers are going doooooown!

So it was stupid of me to start from LVL 1. Damn. Ash still rarely dies now that she has full umm damn, I can't remember the name of it (the thing that gives immunity) and adrenaline rush. The only times I ever die is if I get sniped or one shotted with an explosive or charged by a freaking Krogan. Also the Mako and Thresher Maws... not a good combo. But once I get Colossus armor for Ash and Phantom armor for Garrus and IDK what for me, it's over.

I really want Ash to have Immunity, it is so helpful and iconic of her. And maybe Overkill. No ****ty concussive shot.

I think its from one of Casey's tweets but I here you will be able to apply ammo powers to concussive shot in ME3. I'm intrigued.

As long as every squaddie has more unique powers, perhaps powers that do the same damage but look different. I just hated how everyone had concussive shot.

Ya never level 1. You could also use Colossus.
