He's dead in mine too. I don't have problem with Kaiden at all I just think his character is missing a spark if you get me.

Because Ashley and Kaidan happen to be human characters who aren't Shepard. That's what it boils down to, only Shepard is allowed to be a special human, and Ash and Kaidan couldn't have possibly done anything impressive during the two years Shep was dead.

Because Ashley and Kaidan happen to be human characters who aren't Shepard. That's what it boils down to, only Shepard is allowed to be a special human, and Ash and Kaidan couldn't have possibly done anything impressive during the two years Shep was dead.

Yes Kaidan was a nice enough fella. But he never made it past Virmire. His sacrifice was much appreciated. After that, I didn't think about him much. I've actually begun to appreciate him more while reading Badpies' stories. I've thought about playing a female Shepard and romancing him but I do not think I would be able to let Ash die.

I have PT's where Kaidan's alive. His romance is just as great as Ashley's is, it's a shame they both can't be in Mass effect 2 but they both live on with Kaidan's biotic fund and Ashley getting awarded Salarian and Turian commondations.

Playing ME1 again; time has come to choose a love interest...Liara, Ash, Tali or Jack..I'm leaning toward Tali or Liara because Ash is a racist little **** and I'm just not fond of Jack for some reason.

Since this is an Ash Support thread - make me believe Ash is worth my "pure paragon" (with random renegade points...) romance...

Liara spent 2 years fighting for you when you were dead; she lost her only friend trying to save you. - Thats friggen dedication.

Tali basically defends your ass left and right and always is that friendly innocent(sounding) young girl trying to do great things for her people; and clearly is only bias via the geth but learns through Legion that they aren't so damn bad.

Jack is crazy but mis-understood.

Miri is a skank.

Kelly is a skank.

Ashley is a racist who basically chews you out after bailing on you for 2 years.

This post was posted by Badpie. I hope she doesn't mind me reposting it but it states to the tee what I would want to say......


- She's vibrant. Totally full of life. She's fiery and energetic and her energy is infectious.

- She's beautiful. Totally gorgeous. Elegant features like perfect cheekbones, full lips, big soulful brown eyes, killer eye lashes and let's face it, the cutest nose ever.

- She's bad ass in a totally believable way. She's tough, but they didn't make her a cookie cutter "I'm so hot yet so tough yet so tender and all the things plucked from a best of" type of tough. She's tough because she's vulnerable. And strong because she has issues to overcome. She's also physically badass in a way I can believe. You're not gonna see Ash win a fist fight with a Krogan. But you will see her get in a good kick to his quads at the very least.

- She's refreshingly flawed. And not flawed in the Miranda or Jack way. Nothing against either of those characters except that they are two sides of Ash just taken, split and amplified because it was too confusing for people to deal with a truly real character that could both ****** them off and make them love her. But I digress. She says offensive things, things that make anyone go "okay wait, hold on" She has opinions that are not shared by me or by my Shepard. She has a martyr complex, daddy issues, a big mouth that often says the wrong thing. My Shepard (and me) have been totally annoyed to **** by her at a couple points. But I love that about her.

- She challenges Shepard. She's the only one to ever do this. The only one to ever play devil's advocate with him and speak her mind and stick with her convictions. In ME2, people could disagree with you, but all it took was a charm option to get them to say "maybe you're right." Ash sticks to her guns, and that threatens a lot of manly alpha!Sheps out there who don't like being sassed by no wimmen folk.

- She's smart. A lot smarter than she lets on. Her persona comes off sometimes as a brassy marine grunt, something she's probably had to put on in order to make it in the boys' club, but she's incredibly intelligent.

- She somehow manages to be an incredibly sexual being without being tarted up. In heavy armor, a military bun and no makeup Ash is able to wield her sexual nature expertly. She's comfortable in her own skin and confident. She's perfectly aware that she's gorgeous, but she only uses that asset on her own terms. Hooray for hellcats.

I guess you must be around thirteen right? I asked what was so special about Ash and I wanted specifically someone or a group of people to point out things that I may have missed through my twenty or so playthroughs. If I hated Ashley that much I'd not have posted in this thread - but you know what to be honest I think you are a reflection of why I should just kill Ash off instead of even trying to see if that character is worth a damn.

I really dislike ignorant people.
