In ascending order of responsibility, the ranks of the Alliance are:
ENLISTED
Serviceman 3rd class
Private 2nd class
Serviceman 2nd class

Gunnery Chief (Ash in ME1)
Operations Chief (Ash in ME2)

Yeah I remember that. I was mostly curious about if Ashley was at the high end of her potential ranks or she could still be promoted more. Kaidan is an Officer and Ashley is a Non-Comissioned Officer. I'm just wondering what the difference between the two was and if they are two roles in the same line of promotion or they have seperate rankings systems.

All I want to say is that I saw a person who looked exactly like Ashley today, from the front and side and everything, and that that was really cool.

Even though she's one of the last I put in my squad.

They don't really say, but I'm assuming NCOs would have to go through some officer training in order to get promoted to...well...an officer.  Ash never struck me as the type who wanted to make the tough calls and give orders, which is probably why she chose to be infantry, a grunt.  I can see Shepard and Kaidan both making the decision to go to offier training early on in their careers.  Of course this is just what I think and not based on any evidence.  Makes sense though.

It was. Although it somehow felt very normal and reassuring. Like if there were to suddenly be an ambush, she would pull a gun from her hip and back me up.

If Ashley had became a Spectre in ME3, her rank would not matter anymore, and would no longer be technically serving with the Alliance anymore.

1.) Ashley did cry and apparently probably try to comit suicide or wanted to because you were dead. Thats love but that's also uncontrolable emotions and lack of faith. Shepard did survive fighting a Reaper; and for all we know Liara tried to contact the others but just failed at that..I'm honestly shocked that the Alliance didn't know about Liara / Cerberus bringing Shepard back ot life.

2.) "Do you really believe that?" -- Believe what? That Cerberus wants to save humanity? Not really; which is why I don't answer to them - statement voided. Hope that helps Ash!

3.) ""How can you just turn your back on all of us?"" On who?...Garrus hates criminals and is very black and white about things; but I think hes a badass and yet he (being a very intelligent person) can clearly see the truth in all of this. Shepard (for the most part - unless you're one of those devout Cerberus Junkies) doesn't work for them and flat out says that multiple times. Since the Alliance abandoned him/her; why the hell should they be the first ones he goes to?

4.) ""Anderson.."" -- Kind of blew me off in ME2 because he didn't want to balls up and have the Alliance backing me. Though its funny he does deal with Cerberus in the back-ground...Good plot device if I do say so..

5.) ""You betrayed me.."" -- So if we stay loyal to you and don't get some alien tang; we betrayed you? Right-o simple minded citizen!

I kind of sum this up with what Garrus says... ""Damn it Williams. You're so focused on Cerberus that you're ignoring the real threat!""

As for everyone who got all "butt-hurt" about the whole Religious thing and the "cursing about what we like!" get on with life come on guys. If you can't take honest opinions then move the hell on; I'm not here for the sake of insulting children I'm here to state my opinion which is based on the various experiences in this game and life as a whole; relations exist so we can relate things to one another - sort of.

Anddddd for the people saying ""MAYBE WE DON'T WANT YOUR SUPPORT!"" well thats your problem. Anyone whose trying to support something grand will ""at the least"" make an effort to clean something up. Personally as I've said I really think Ash was a failed attempt at being a ""Ripley"" character; but I blame the writers of Mass Effect more because they seemed to ignore the VS completely in ME2....

Speakin of that...Wasn't there supposed to be THREE bridging DLCs?...LOTSB and The Arrival were two but...whats the third? Is there a third?...Will the be a third?...Maybe something to clean up Ashley (and yes I admit Kaiden is a bit of a **** but still he was at least semi entertaining).

Anyway - I'm sorry if I offended any children in this thread I didn't mean to get your panties soiled with anger so please relax. Yes I am dead serious when I do apologize; but I believe in saying your honest opinion; I treat everyone as equals unforunitely.

8/10 - Fun read; better than the PS Comic for sure. I just didn't like the over exageration of Ashley trying to be sweet and girly (sort of). I figure she'd be more inclined to call the council a bunch of idiots or something hah.

But I always thought the VS would be a spectre in the long run - so kudos!

I would like to give you something to think about though. It can be reasonably inferred that for the past two years Ash(or Kaidan) has been working close with anderson to help the alliance and prepare for the reapers. What's the rest of the crew been doing?

Garrus quit his job at c-sec ,even though he could have been the equivalent of chief of police, to go play super hero on omega. 

Tali returned to the migrant fleet to waste her talents with grunt work for the flotilla this may not be her fault with chain of command giving her orders, but still she could have made some inquiries or talked with her father about  building arms for the flotilla.

Wrex is uniting the krogan clans. kudos to him. er... or he's nuclear fallout.

Liara saved us which is good, but then she goes on a quest for vengence immediately after. Now why would someone who can live for a thousand years pass off the chance to forgo the apocalypse to go on a selfish quest for revenge? Don't get me wrong it worked out in the end, but still she got distracted and if you didn't give her that data she would still be in her office on illium.

So really Ash(or Kaiden) is the most loyal to Shepard. Seeing as this entire time they've been working to stop the reapers. While most everyone else  got distracted or just didn't care anymore.

is he even serious? That whole Liara saves Shepard being dedication and Tali being there for you while Ashley wasn't is a terrible point to make.

I'm on the boards for the first time in a while, and I--Edit: Apparently while I was away, I forgot how to post pictures.

So...  I don't think we've properly discussed what colors we'd want Ash's armor to be if we had full customization.  Let's talk about that!  (Yes, I, too love the Hot Pink Colossus, but let's think outside the box, folks!)

I'd go with blue.  With dark green trimming.  It's a color combo I'm fond of.

Edit2: I also forgot how to spell while I was away.  Life is rough out there.

I'd say a good mix of light colors, maybe silvery blue with a soft red as the secondary.

I saw some fanart recently (I think It's badpie's) And it showed Ash in a light blue on dark blue uniform. It looked awesome on her.

Edit:  If you haven't already guessed, I think the color scheme would make for great Ash armor..

Shadow, I don't know what you're implying.  My suggestion has nothing to do with my personal outfit.  It's not like I have a terribly out of control ego or anything.   I merely feel that those colors would work well with my personal desire to see the colors of my avatar EVERYWHERE Ash's skin tone?
