Indeed, they included several ways for you to play it. This is a RPG after all. The fact remains that he was a potentially hostile organic...for lack of a better word tank. You can't let him endanger the mission, yes, some of the options are less than kind or nice but that's why it's a RPG, if you want to play a trugger-happy Shepard that's your prerogative. In the other choices, all other options have been exhausted so there is no choice but to kill him.

And let's not forget that Shepard *orders* Ash to be ready just in case. If Shepard didn't want Ash interfering, he'd have said so, which means two things: One, he fully expected the possibility of reason failing with Wrex, and two, whether it's Shepard or Ashley who eventually shoots Wrex, it was Shepard's call and Shepard's responsibility.

People have to look at it more realisticly, what would have happend if Ash did not shoot Wrex if Shepard dosent charm him and is in trouble? Shepard maybe dead, and Ash would have been discharged from the Alliance for not obbeying a order resulting in her Commanding officer's death.

(sigh) sadly its wrex and everyone loves wrex.......i however think its rather hardcore that everyone say WREX is the strongests charecter in the game and ash just walks up behind him and snuffs him lol.

alouthg when i First saw it i was rather disturbed by how cold blooded she was.....i mean she freakin shoots him FOUR times after he falls and just gives a blank stare.....

I agree that the four shots were needed to kill Wrex (if choose to kill him.) As to the blank stare Ashley is a trained soldier, when firing a weapon emotions/expresions are not always needed. People also need to understand that as a solier you are trained to follow orders even if it is not that right order to follow in some cases. Ashley is weapon commanded by Shepard. Her arm is his to use as he see fits (no excpetions.)

For some reason, Wrex and Ashley tend to get along very well toward the end of the game.

ash gets along pretty good with all the sqaudmates (except liara if your flirting with both) in all the elevator convos shes respectful and casule while talking.i like too think ash gets along best with kaidan and garrus.

She's even more so toward the end of the game. In particular, after Virmire, once you are back to the Citadel to meet Captain Anderson in Flux. From that point on she's really respectful of whoever else is in your party. I guess Kaidan's unexpected death is part of the reason for that, though...

@fieryphoenix also by that point the team has already been through soo much togther she trusts them she even says it if you send her with the salarians.

@digitalfallout i imagin alot of perstering with questions about the relationship and about him saveing the galaxy with ash.i think the sisters would take up alot of sheps time.i think sarah would tease ash alot throughout the visit....hell one of them may even develope a crush on shep (that happens sometimes)

On the topic of Ashley shooting Wrex ... so far I never had this scene happen. As I'm a BioWare gaming veteren, there is no character build I do without maxing persuade/coercion/threaten ... even in my very first game (where I had no idea about Wrex armour) I could easily convince him. But I do agree, that at the point Wrex turns agains Shepard, Ashley has absolutely no choice but to shoot. Shepard gave her the order before. And, as was pointed out, Wrex is a Krogan, so one shoot would not have been enough.

I do think the blank stare, is Ashley's way to hide her emotions in that scene. Imagine, when you're at Virmire you have at least visited one other main area before, meaning Ash had some time to share with Wrex (they are hanging around right beside each other on the Normandy). She might be thinking like: "F***, I just shot a squad buddy. Did see my friends dying before, but now that for sure sucks even more than Eden Prime ..." But then again she is a trained soldier, and a command is a command ..

We also must call into account the possibilty that the blank face was unintentional on Bioware's part, they may have simply fudged it since it's so damned hard to be forced to kill Wrex if you pay attention.
From an in-game perspective, I also figure it's her "war-face" as it were. Some get a rictus of anger and some go blank in combat.

I agree. Some would forget that Ash is a soldier, and an important part of being a soldier is being able to subordinate your emotions to your orders. I don't believe for one minute that Ashley was pleased at all by having to kill Wrex.

for some odd reason i contiune too be miss understood on this subject...as i said i understand ALL the reasoning as too why the scene played out the way it did yes i get it that ash is a soldier and that shes not supposed to feel sorry for ppl shes killed I.E blank stare,YES i understand wrex is a krogan and one shot wouldnt kill him,YES i understand that wrex was a threat and she is completely justified in killing him at that point.

What i said was that while i do think its kool that ash can sneak up and kill wrex if you want it too play out that way Its just IMO when i FIRST saw the scene i didnt know wat was going too happen
so when it DID happen and ash mows down wrex with no remorse with a blank stare and a casule shrug i felt that it was distrubing and out of charecter from what we previously seen from her up until that point.

(For future refrance this scene has only happned twice in one playthrough out of the hundred others ive done)

It did feel a little out of caracter, but i guess the whole point of the scene was to be unexpected to shock the player, everything cant be too predictable. Just one of the many layer's of such a amazing caracter.
